Haven't decided if I want to commit to finishing it as a stage car or not.
I've met/became friends with a lot of rally competitors and organizers through SCCA and volunteering a few years at NEFR and a bunch of rallysprints at Team O'Neil, so I know the ins-and-outs of car prep, how events are run, and how to go about competing. Apart from ARA, there's NASA and (what's left of) Rally America next year. There are also a number of Rallysprints hosted around the country through SCCA and other regional groups, as well as all of the events up in Canada.
If you're just starting out, I can't recommend rallycross enough. 90% of the fun at 2% of the price.

what sort of changes do you make to the car ?
replace springs and wheels seems normal
but what about control arms and geometry
extras might be an uprated cooling system and some bash guards to keep the sump and exhaust in good shape

Did people realized how odd to find these things will be? There are already 43 thousands of the R34 in the world made, and its already fucking rare to find them, specially stock. Imagine the same with a car even more wanted, even more riced, that only 12 k were made.
R32s were already fucking hard to get, R34 are now going to be fucking impossible and that makes me sad because i really liked the aesthetics of it.

what are some cars you feel you shouldn't like but you do? More specifically modern cars, but not exclusively.
I like the current gen Taurus. I mean comparing it to a panther, say, the beltline comparison is atrocious, but on it's own I think it looks pretty good

We're going to Italy in the spring for two weeks and I want to hit as much car-related stuff as possible. Right now my list is just visiting Ferrari and Lamborghini's museums.
I have a fantasy of walking up to Pagani's factory and running into Horacio and having him take me on a drive in a Zonda, but... yknow, fantasies and all that.

if there is time visit monaco. there is a cool car museum and you will see a lot of supercars.

Don't rush it and take it slow. I was the exact same thing during my first driving lessons, instructor was an asshole and took me to the streets when I could barely even work the damn clutch, so I stalled at every light and panicked like a bitch. I somehow got my license and then took time to really practice with my mom in her car, then she just let me drive by myself...and then it was just a matter of practice, track time, and driving increasingly "fast" cars.
