I mean the cabin being small compared to the rest of the car like the Continental, not taking up the whole space like the maybach
What kind of tools and toolboxes you guys got? Looking to buy more tools not sure what else to buy. Debate tool preference as well, I buy a metric shit ton of craftsman tools because of their lifetime warranty.
>>16211931
Craftsman has caviats to their "lifetime warranty" and will not replace them if they think they are used in a professional manner. They also suck dick because the tolerance on their sockets and screw drivers are shit.
As much as /o/ cries about it, most mechanics will tell you the best deals for professionals or very enthusiastic hobbyist are
>snap-on
>matco
>MAC
They ALL have LIFETIME no questions asked returns, have great durability, fit and finish. And they have guys that show up at the shop so you don't have to travel. I had an old snap on tool cart (roll around) I bought for like $600, got $400 in trade towards a new one. People can be as fedora tipper as they want, but the big three are the best outside specialty tool makers.
I never buy sets, only individual tools that I need. I like wera tools. Just got a good deal on wera 8-60nm 3/8 torque wrench, think it was some black friday deal.
I have a mac tools box.
In my tool box are
Harbor freight
Husky
Craftsman
Stanley
Expert
Mac
Snap on
Blue point
Matco
Basically anything with a lifetime warranty.
If you aren't fixing cars professionally like I am you probably only need craftsman
I legit can NOT sit in a low ass car anymore after driving a crossover for the last few years. I'm not even that old but it's a fucking pain in the ass to get in and out of a car compared to a crossover. You guys don't know what you're missing.
do you enjoy taking corners at 15 mph feeling like you're about to tip over
>>16211670
Waddafuq is this, 1996?
SUVs can outrun M3s on the Neverbeen Ring, mate. Get with it.
>>16211674
Fucking this. I take right angle corners in a full-size SUV that weighs almost 5,000lbs at 45mph with no tire squeal.
Fuck off with this can't turn bullshit.
Do the second generation Subaru Outbacks ('98-'03) have any speed? A wagon seems like the type of car that best suits my needs but I'd still like to have fun. I know the turbo 2.5L's have some speed but they're near impossible to find around me.
Does the boxer H6 have any speed? I'm assuming the regular 2.5L I4 is pretty slow.
>>16211531
The H6 has more grunt than anything. But it will cruise well at higher speeds
The 98'-03' generation was the first generation. Outbacks before that were Subaru Legacies with an Outback trim package.
It's not that the EJ25 has no power, it just isn't very forthcoming with the power it has, especially with A/T and AWD drivetrain loss.
If you can find an M/T Legacy L or Impreza with the 2.2 it's surprisingly peppy, although still not powerful by any means. Much better on gas and no headgasket problems either.
Also Forester XT models have a 2.5 Turbo that's pretty damn powerful. Other than that and the WRX most subies just aren't built for speed. Don't know about the H6 models since I've never had wheel time on one.
Will the model 3 really be worth the $35k sticker price?
>>16210955
>that build
Looks like something those big bang theory guys would drive kek
That's not the sticker price. Tesla has clearly fucking stated that.
>>16210995
What is the sticker price then?
What are some good books or online sources for a beginner who wants to learn about cars? I don't know shit right now, but eventually I want to buy an old muscle car and actually be able to work on it.
>>16209941
>sources for a beginner who wants to learn about cars?
Go to car shows. You don't even need to go to a big one, even a small one would work. Boomers might have some of the shittiest opinions in the world but they do know their shit when it comes to cars. Most of them are more than willing to help someone out. In the end they just enjoy old muscle cars and like to share their hobby.
>>16209941
don't take any advice from here is all I can say
>>16209941
> I don't know shit right now, but eventually I want to buy an old muscle car and actually be able to work on it.
Honestly, this humility is your best asset. You are on the road to greatness, grasshopper.
And find someone who needs help, ideally an old fucker who is restoring something. They love teaching young people the ropes. Pay attention because they don't teach well. Listen well.
Books are OK, but they are packaged to a certain group of people. They can't teach you the "oh shit, nobody does that" stuff.
You can spend half of your life burning your fingers. Or you can work for someone who knows how to operate a stove.

So my rims got bent and air is leaking. The tire is still ok.
Should I just buy new rims and put tires on myself? Do I really need to rebalance it or just straight up put the tire on the new rim then slap that shit into my car?

Looking for any suggestions towards this issue...
When I turn my key into accessory or on, I am having no feedback. My battery has plenty of power and I can operate headlights, hazards, and interior lights, but turning the key does nothing. This happened as I was driving... the car just shut off and I haven't been able to do anything since.
I have checked all fuses, relays, and grounds with no luck. I checked the lock cylinder hookups with a DMM and it still seems to be getting power. Not really too sure where to go from here.
any help is appreciated
>>16211277
drift harder and replace your apex seals and youll be fine
>>16211315
Apex seals were recently replaced, its a shame that wonky electrics are keeping me down.
You know what to do.
Hello /o/, /k/ here. I was wondering where in the metric fuck I can get an oem bumper for a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ. I cant find any, only for the 2011+ models. It seems so simple as its just chrome and not color matched. I'd appreciate any help. Plz no bully for this is my first venture into the abyss that is /o/

Rockauto
Get the part number, and if it comes down to it order it from the dealer and install it yourself
You can buy a new OEM one at a dealer. Manufactures are required to produce all parts for a decade of each model. That'll be the most expensive route. Might as well buy an aftermarket bumper, maybe one with a winch built in.
What does /o/ think of the Nissan Leaf?
Was thinking of picking this one up for 9k. Has a 2016 30kwh battery, new tires and seems pretty nice.
>A
>FUCKING
>LEAF
>>16210788
Might as well turn in your man card while your at it.
>>16210788
/o/ will call you a cuck
Can anyone recommend a good aftermarket oil catch for my PCV hose? I was thinking of this one
Damn, here I thought /o/ knew something about engines
>>16209996
hah that looks like something cobbled out of low quality medical equipment
>>16210269
I'm sure that's what most of this chinese shit is.
You got a better idea then?
Hi /o/; new here
Do you have any recommendations for reliable "affordable" luxury cars (2014 or newer). Thought about the 3 series bimmers and audi A4 for muh german engineering but thought the ILX would be more reliable and the interior seems nicer
>pls no bully
is250, now gtfo for even considering an acura
>>16209930
Anything in the IS series
Acura's badge doesnt matter, theres nothing behind it.
BMW is shit, epecially for what you get in the lower ends
Audi is a rebadged VW
Cadillac is rebadged chebby and filled with plastic
The IS might be a rebadged avalon/camry depending on which you get, but at least they're good for 200k+ miles, wont shit on you, and women admire the badge
>>16209930
What do you want in a car? Do you want to be good on the toe-gay? Just comfy? Fuel efficient? Budget? How much down if financing?
What are /o/'s thoughts on pic related?
>>16209490
Better than Camry.
/thread
>>16209490
The shitbox japmobile has come a long way.
>>16209530
You can't /thread your own post faggot.
Why can sellers not be bothered with sending you the VIN?
Literally takes 5 mins to take a picture of the title and can turn into a sale, I don't get it. It's like they refuse to do it because I'm asking for too much info.
Pic unrelated
I guess they know you're going to run a CarFucks on it.
Personally I'd have no problem with it at all. If the car has been in wreck, I'm more than happy to show you the repair receipts. But then again I sell my cars to CarMax because I hate dealing with idiots and lowballers.
>>16209483
Did frosty take this pic.... is this the return of the iceman himself?
>>16209483
Because with the vin you can find out who it's registered too and where the car is located. Same with the plate. People cover that shig in pictures so you don't steal their car.
On to your next dumb question.
