What kind of car do 16 - 18 year old aspire for these days? When I was that age there was a ton of great cars. Sporty cars are dying. Americans Teens have fallen out of love with automotive.

I aspire to have a japanese kei van

Here in commiefornia, it's the Tesla Model S.
Ok /o/, I've reluctantly swallowed the reality pill and have given up my dream of daily ingredients a classic car. But now I have 2 options in front of me that I'm considering.
1: Buy a 2017 Tacoma for 22-24k. 4cyl, 6spd auto, 2wd, extended cab, 18-23mpg. I can afford it, but it's more than I'm comfortable with due to car note and insurance (granted when I was looking at a classic, It was actually going to be very cheap). I know it's responsible, it'll be reliable, and it's decent on gas. But I'm worried I'll out grow the 4cyl and be stuck with it for years to come along with eating into my monthly budget.
I test drove it, it's definitely a nice truck, but it didn't make me smile.
This is option 1
Option 2 is I throw 2k into my shit box silverado to make it more reliable and keep it as a rainy day/weekend warrior truck and buy a 201X Honda Fury.
1300cc, awesome looks. 2017 is 10k, but I've found the from 2013 for 5500 or 2016 for 7500. It would be my daily rider except for bad weather or when I need to run errands. I am an avid rider, so a bike isn't new to me. But I know it's not the more responsible move.
About me. 22 male, e3 in the coast guard. Will either live on/off base; more than likely on the Gulf Coast so winters aren't an issue. This would all be after basic.
Basically; due I bite the bullet and be an adult even though it doesn't make me happy and financially hurts a bit more, or do I go for what will make me happier even though it's not as responsible? Red pill me on both.
This is a completely serious question from someone who doesn't have much of a background in mechanical engineering.
Pic related weighs about 150 pounds and produces more than 180 horsepower at the crank with 76 lb/ft of torque at the wheel. It also revs to 15k RPM.
Why aren't they using these in cars? I understand more torque is needed - so why not just use two?
And don't give me this shit about >hurr durr you have to rev it high to get that hp/torque
No shit, retard. THat is the point. Some of us want high revving engines
I refuse to drive anything less than a v8
Bike engines aren't built to last hundreds of thousands of miles. Also, fuel economy, emissions, towing or just hauling cargo in general. I have seen motorcycle swaps into Kei cars and things though, they look like fun,
>>16256307
It's not all about high performance. With that level of precision you have to trade another area in engineering which is reliability and cost.
While it's all good on the charts, it doesn't translate well into consumerism.

Was considering buying a $700 240sx, slapping a turbo on, adding a bucket seat and beating on it at Club Loose. Though I'm hesitant since it seems like an endless money pit

OK /o/tists.
Now that the FC NA and RX-8 are both around 5kish, why exactly do people love the FC so much?
>NA 13b and Renesis have similar reliability
>Similar fuel economy
>RX-8 is faster in a straight line
>RX-8 pulls more lateral G's
>RX-8 is more powerful
>RX-8 is barely 300lb heavier than the lightest FC
>RX-8 has 4 doors/seats (insurance)
>Both are apparently really fun to drive
So why is FC considered a superior car? Is the meme-ness of the FD rubbing off, or is it something different that only the rotards know?

>Coupe
>Appropriately sized

This.
Usually sporty retro styling is more appealing then the tall rotund styling of more modern cars. I also believe that the Renesis is a less reliable rotary is it not? More common occurrence of it blowing than a 13b. Plus both were designed for different consumers it's the reason why the RX-8 isn't called the FE
RX8 doesnt compare....
