I use silverstar sealed beams and they're better than whatever generic yellows I had before but still nowhere near as good as modern projectors.
>>
>>16254867
You could always order a sealed beam conversion kit

I run silver star ultras. They're real good lights. Nice and white compared to shitty yellow dying ones. I do a lot of offroading so they come in handy with their "better than stock" distance. I like that theyre made in USA too. Just make sure that when you replace your bulbs you re-adjust the position/Angle of your beams. Even the brightest headlights suck dick if they're pointing straight to the floor, or the sky. Best way to get the perfect beam is go to a dark as fuck empty road where you can pull to the side legally. And adjust them according to your taste. Make sure not to blind anyone by pointing them at eye level of oncoming cars.

Sylvania silverstar is what you buy at a store
>>16257991
is what you buy online for half price
>>
>>16254764
Yea. Been running then for 2 years at this point with no issues.

They work really well, but you absolutely have to follow the instructions to the T because they run hot.

What I mean by this is make sure you wear gloves when you're installing them because if you get skin oil on them they can burn out faster.
>>
>>16257991
Whatever my truck came with from the factory in 81, they're still working.

Because it's been 200,000 km, and 10 years, and not a single bulb has burnt out.

It entirely depends on what bulb size you have.

In my car, my low beams are H7 size, and my high beams are 9005.

Doing my research, for the H7 bulb, I went with Osram Rallye 65w bulbs. Pretty much it's an H9 bulb fitted to an H7 base. No other street legal bulb using stock wiring puts out more usable light.

For the high beams, I went with Philips 9011 HIR bulbs. You have to use a pair of dykes to modify one of the tabs slightly to get the 9011 to fit in the 9005 slot, but that takes 3 seconds. Getting the HIR technology into your housings is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.

And yes, HIR, not HID. HIR is completely different than HID, and unlike HID, they are 100% comparable with Halogen reflectors.
>>
>>16259435
I thought no one was doing real HIR anymore after Toshiba(?) dropped out.
>>
>>16259402
I switched to 10W-30 for my Subaru, you can't use your high beams when it's cold since it's a heavier weight but it really helps once your headlights are warmed up
>>
>>16259706

Does it work for blinkers too? I can't find any at Autozone. All they have is propwash.
>>
>>16259747
I bought some specialty blinker fluid from the dealer, but I've read on forums that standard headlight fluid works just as well as blinker fluid.

I'd imagine it would be a lighter weight since the blinkers aren't always on, so maybe a 0W or a low 5W would work
>>
>>16254679
My car came with Osram headlight bulbs so I was replacing them with the same. That was a mistake since the bulbs kept dying in like 8k km. Switched to Bosch and never changed a bulb ever since.
>>
Osama are expecting some as fuck for H11

great lights

>>
>>16254679
Osram longlife. They usually last me about 3 years
>>
>>16254764
I ran these on a sealed beam setup in my Probe and they were amazing. 2.5 years with no problems.
Decided to use them in my Celica as just a screw-in bulb and each set Ive had (2 sets) has burned out in less than six months. Yeah they replaced them under warranty, but damn, what the hell?
And no, the bulbs were not touched with my bare hands, filaments broke each time. But they are incredibly bright compared to the crappy $10 off brands.
>>
>>16254679
I bought my car new in 2009, I haven't had to change a single bulb yet and I'm not sure what it came with.
