Raced one of those the other night. Fast as fuck and I didn't stand a chance. The guy listed off a bunch of things that he did to the car when I asked about it. I didn't understand a goddamn thing he was talking about because I learned about cars with my Miata, and all we can really do for more power is turbo or engine swap

Bought this shitbox miata for 2k a while back just because I needed something to learn how to drive a stick on. I've got a job offer that'll last 6 months coming up though, and I'm looking at having 7-11k in the bank when I get back home. Not sure if I'll buy a better NB2 Miata and try to V8 swap my NB1, or just get me a faster car.

I believe they are... they all have the little RS Watanabe logo embossed near the centre of each wheel, and all the lugs seem genuine as well. Car was imported from Japan last year though, so I can't verify with 100% certainty.

2013. I did daily it for a while before I got carried away with mods with my buddy. Bought it at 38k and now it's at 50k. So far the car has been super reliable, no issues whatsoever. Blind spots are pretty big with the rear pillars which is really annoying but if you use your mirrors and check over your shoulder quick you'll be alright.

It's a total blast to drive. It's not that fast by modern standards but it feels fast and you can drive it at 100% a lot of the time which is what makes the car so enjoyable. Even on shitty tires it sticks to the road like glue. Completely dumpstered my friend's 2013 VW GTI on the back roads while the car was still N/A. I don't regret buying it at all, but you will begin to desire more power as you get more comfortable with the car. The community and support for the car is crazy so you'll always find an answer and you'll have a large aftermarket available to you.

The back seat is pretty much useless. I'm deleting mine asap because with the back seat folded down or removed, you can fit a full set of wheels and tires in the back for track day.

Car gets compliments literally everywhere I go. Even getting gas at 2am it gets a ton of attention.

Most importantly, it really is a driver's car. The position you sit in, the best steering response you can buy short of the Cayman, the predictability, all of it just ties together really well. It just needs more power.

One other complaint I have is the 4k-5k rpm torque dip. It will go away with a nicer header and/or a tune but stock it will be noticeable. Test drive one and see what you think.

Had a silvertop in it when it came over. I blew it up and decided to rebuild it, hence why it was off the road altogether for nearly a year. Would have gone for a blacktop, but there's nary a hair of difference between the two in reality if you're running a silvertop with a MAP sensor and open quads. And blacktops are harder to get hold of in good condition too.

Fantastic. I've heard the torque dip is the first thing to fixed. I've actually done a significant amount of research about the car, I just have yet to drive one. I had an NA Miata before I moved and I loved dailying it 30 minutes to a from work every day. The BRZ seems like a more practical Miata to me. I do keep hearing it feels fast at almost any speed and I love that. That's what the Miata was to me. Except with this I could force two more friends in the back somehow if I absolutely HAD to AND I have a lot more trunk space. This seems like a great choice.

The font is also closely controlled on numberplates made after 31.8.2001 (a problem if your car has been made or imported after this date). British Standard BS AU 145d requires the plate to have the requisite level of reflectiveness, and to have the postcode etc. of the manufacturer printed on it.

Look up Open Flash Tablet if you get serious about a twin. First upgrade you should do. It's a great tool and they also sell UEL headers.

Space is decent, I have the same trunk space as my previous car and I use the back seats the same way. It will suck if you need to move with it, though. People depends on how much they care about getting squished.

The pillars are an issue for visibility. You can get convex mirror overlays for your side mirrors. Do it. You won't have blind spots that way. They're also good for reducing the shine of headlights if you're easily blinded.

Yeah...the current/new-gen WRX (and STI) are only offered in a sedan. I was super-bummed when I decided to buy one, as I wanted a wagon. But, I'm still really happy with mine. As much as I'd like to drive it more, I am lucky to put about 2,000 miles on it a year. Have had it about 3 years. It's just too precious to me to take it out very often and run the risk of something happening to it....

Don't get rid of your FD. Others have echoed this sentiment too. These cars ARE timeless. Yes, they still exist out there right now and can be had, but THIS ONE IS YOURS. Keep it safe. Enjoy it where you can. FD's are only getting more rare each year that goes by.
