If you were to build a low comp k24a2 and slap a big turbo onto it, mostly for the purpose of causing maximum ass rustle among (((((((("""""""car enthusiasts"""""""")))))))), what kinda shit box would you swap it into?

E39 m5 for 100% rustle
A stock-looking DA Integra.
I saw a 95 Lexus SC400 for sale today, for 2500. Anyone know anything about this car? As far as driveabiliy and maintenance. The car looks pretty solid, has damage on the passenger fender but other than that it's good. Even the tires are fairly new and all the same brand. Anyone know if that would be a fair price? I didn't get the chance to drive it because I had to go to work but here a pic
Here's the engine itself
Here's the damage, pretty noticeable but I've seen worse
I do like the car, but obviously I need to drive it. I'd rather get a AWD/4WD but at that price it's tough to find anything decent
>>16403960
there's a fuckheug dent on the left fender too, in case you didn't notice
Would buying one of these make me appreciate cars more?
Currently I'm not that into cars and have driven Japanese econoboxes in auto my whole life.
Don't know jack about engines and all that and don't even k ow how to drive manual yet.
I've always liked how wrx's looked though and I would buy one and force myself to drive manual.
Would getting g one turn me into a h/o/on
>>16403574
the wrx is just another japanese economy box that goes sort of fast with a turbo bolted onto it.
It does exactly what it says on the tin.
By all means go for it.
Try one, lots of fun.
>>16403574
I did the WRX thing and I wouldn't recommend it. The cars are overpriced and generally need money sunk into them after a lifetime of abusive use by their previous owners. You can get a fun car that does essentially the same thing for much less money so unless you're really in love with them I'd start by looking elsewhere.
End of the Year
Can a Cobalt SS smoke a Hellcat on a track?
On a tight twisty track in the hands of a competent driver, probably.
"A track" is just as general as if you said can a Chevy smoke a dodge?
I think top gear (and to some degree chysler themselves) proved that a hellcat is as fast as something like an aston martin Db11 (RWD Cruisers in the 3800-4000 lb range) either that or Jeremy Clarkson (in the DB11) was driving drunk or something against Hammond ( i have no idea i didn't watch the episode).
Basically if a Cobalt could beat a hellcat it would also mean spanking M6s M5s some AMG cars as well as biting at the ankles of Caymens and M4s since that's actually where the hellcat sits on some tracks.
People may mention "tight" tracks but even then the track would have to be so "tight" that even most sports cars would struggle. Think of the mall scene from Top Gear where Jeremy had a black Corvette chase a Fiesta through a mall and it was skidding and knocking over shit simply because it was too large for the maneuvers asked of it in which case your cobalt would probably be smoking hyper cars and really anything over 3500 lbs.
Why are car reviews basically never negative? Are all cars amazing now or do the journalists just have to suck the manufacturers dicks in order to pay their bills?
>>16403258
You just answered your own question.
>>16403258
You need to look at consumer reviews.
>>16403258
Try doug demuro. I know he's an annoying ass meme, but he tells the truth.
Hey guys can we get a monster truck thread going?
What's the top 5 street-legal models on /o/?
I really want to get a monster truck. Is it legal to crush other peoples' parked cars?
stale pasta
>>16403231
what? It's not pasta at all
>>16403222
Dunno about monster trucks, but I've been wanting to make a prerunner-esque truck that's street legal, although in KY basically anything is legal to drive on the roads.
ontario, canada
can you turn left FROM a 2-way street TO a 2-way street on a red light?
>>16403104
the light has just changed from green to red
inb4 op is being bootyblasted by the cops or his insurance, and came to a Madagascar cacao farming forum to seek answers he could find elsewhere faster.
You can do it if you're already in the intersection when it turns yellow.

got into a discussion with a buddy today
Hey guys, I want to get my dad an extendable mechanic's mirror (pic related) as a belated Christmas Gift. Do you have any recommendations?
I like the idea of a lighted one but they seem to have generally negative reviews...
>>16403080
Selfi stick
I've never encountered one that dramatically differs from another aside from grip design because they're all Chinese crap. It's nigh-impossible to fuck up a mirror on a stick so just grab one at Napa or whatever and call it good.
>>16403080
dentist mirror works also
but that is mostly for taking apart fully mechanical cash registers
I'm a new driver looking for my first car now i'm 20 and will have high insurance and i'm not looking at anything above £1500 or below 1000. One thing I have looked at is the toyota aygo because the road tax £20 anually. But it can only do 98mph and comes only with a 1.0L engine. Opinions.
>>16403004
Mk6 Fiesta. Cheap insurance, reliable if looked after, a good starter car.
Get 1 years no claims under your belt, them you can start to look at what other cars you might like. Untill you have 1or2 years ncb, buy something small and cheap.
Alright guys, first TWO dubs and first THREE trips get a keychain sent to them. Quads and higher auto win.

I just bought a shitbox with one of these racing air filter things on it. I have heard these are useless, should I try to find the normal air filter stuff and put that on? It seems to be a name brand one and not just a Pringles tube or some shit if that matters.
I don't know much about cars and I just care about getting to my destination without it breaking down all the time
What car and filter brand?
I'd probably just leave it. It'll do it's job if all you want is to not break down, and the difference either way is negligible. Unless you live in a really dusty area, the filter quality is probably fine and replacements shouldn't be expensive.
>select images with tea
>do so
>still makes me pick one that's clearly coffee and one that could go either way
>>16402683
Leave it on. If it's sucking warm air from the engine bay, it might even improve your fuel economy a little.
>>16402723
It's on a 2008 Honda Accord and the tube and filter say K&N on them. I don't live in a dusty area, so I guess I'll just let it alone then. Thanks
Why all the hate?
>>16402580
Because they failed to make anything as good as the F1.
Also, McLaren P3.
They made one boring supercar, the MP4-12C. The F1 is the greatest machine ever forged by human hands, and their current lineup is all pretty excellent too. The P1 is utter insanity to drive compared to pretty much every other supercar you can buy today.
All of them are owned by rich teenagers, youtubers and arabs. (p1 and f1 excluded)
Buying this today because I money shifted my daily at 110MPH from fourth to third and blew the head gasket or some shit. Have 800 buying this for 500 as a daily. What do ;-; 96 Oldsmobile cutlass ciera
big comfy shitbox. enjoy it br/o/
>>16402327
make a sleeper from it.
Swap in a 3500 V6 (bolts right in. Look for the sleeper general thread. One of the guys there talked about his 3500 swap into a 96 Buick Century which is essentially the same car)
