Anyone else have that one car they keep thinking about buying and never do?
>m-muh reliability

Pic related.
Despite having wanted one since I was a kid I've passed on buying one on a few occasions now simply because it'd be a fucking nightmare to source parts for here in Aus.
>>16661710
Fuck.
Just imagine I posted a picture of a giant mechanical dildo.
>>16661689
Just fucking do it faggot.

Where the hell can one find a stereo that doesn't look like it belongs in a riced out Honda Civic?
Please with Bluetooth.
http://www.blaupunkt.com/en/nc/products/car-multimedia/car-radio/
pioneer MVH-X390BT isn't too disco. you can change the colors and dim them.
For older cars people will go with kienzle
Check out radios for boats. (marine radios)
I have a 2001 Camaro with 3.8l v6, does anyone know of a solid line on a harmonic balancer? I called Advance, AutoZone, NAPA, USA Speed world, AND the Chevy dealership, no listings and the parts discontinued. Is there a solid aftermarket option? Fuck I'll take an underdrive pulley if it's under $300.
>>16660137
check rockauto
I'm pretty sure you can use one from a grandprix, I think most l36 parts are the same.
>>16660137
>Is there a solid aftermarket
For the V8, Yes.
does china have any real car culture ?
They for sure are better than Germans when it comes to copy paste
>>16659350
No they have a ride a moped and eat dogs culture.
China doesn't have any sort of culture since commie revolution. Sad but true.
You get one engine to swap into any 25+ year-old car. What do you choose?
>pic related
>2.3L Ecoboost
I think it'd make for a fun ride with some suspension bits thrown in.
>>16658156
Buddy of mine knew a guy who tried to ecoboost swap a fox body, last he heard he still hadnt got it running right.
New engines rely too much on the billion fucking computers and sensors embedded EVERYWHERE
>>16658167
Its really not that difficult, you just swap in every computer that ECU needs to get inputs from. THe only exception is antitheft, which you can delete with almost any tuning software package on any american car.
>>16658156
Someone already did what I'd want to do, throw an Ecotec into a Cosworth Vega.
Hey guys. I'll keep it short.
I did some work for a buddy who has a ton of money. Picked his car up on Friday and delivered it on Sunday. Still have the key. He's now saying he doesn't have the money to pay me. Legally as a shade tree mechanic with documentation of work done can I hold his car?
Southern USA. South Carolina specifically.
Honestly I have no idea, but if you gave it back already I'd think you'd have to handle it through small claims .
>>16657373
I've got the key. It's a 2000 BMW 540i M5 piece of shit so I'm assuming it's the only fob he has. I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow.
>has a ton of money
Yet pays to have his car worked on by a shadetree mechanic? You learned your lesson, doing sidework always ends up in this kind of thing happen eventually. The people who try to get cheap, unlicensed work done on their cars don't do it because they are rich, smart, and trustworthy, they are broke, cheap, or planning on trying to fuck someone that has no recourse. Chock it up as a lesson (you didn't really lose much, imagine someone suing you because their airbag didn't go off and you happened to do some unrelated electrical work to the car, but it doesn't really matter what you say because you have no insurance or license so it must be your fault).
Hello fellow members of /o/, I wanna pick up my buddy's AE86. He's asking $3500. It's got the 4AC unfortunately, but it does have coilovers, a Bride bucket, HKS catback and only 120,000 miles. Body is straight, needs some new paint. Interior is 9.5/10. All it needs is a new clutch to be daily driveable. Is $3500 fair?
also let's post up some retro JDM rides
>>16655863
Completely fair.
Do it
ruined trash.
>>16655863
don't bother. get a real 4age one.

>doing oil change on DRZ
>had to move ninja 250 around to have some space
>finish up, everything went well
>moving bikes back to normal parking spots
>not used to handling how low the ninja is and drop it on the floor
>leave it there and laugh for a few minutes, just looking at it
>park the bikes and go upstairs
For some reason I'm just so happy, and this made me laugh a ton. Rode that ninja for a little over a year as first bike, never put it down until now, and I wasn't even riding it, or doing work on it, the bloody key wasn't even in the ignition.
The first time I ever drop a bike and it's in my garage simply moving it, for some reason I'm very happy about this.
How's your day going so far friendos?
>>16661261
>cant see for shit because visor keeps fogging
Wax your visor
>cant be seen for shit because not bright yellow
You don't have lights or high-vis stripes? What are you doing on the road any way?
>cant grip for shit because small contact pavement on wet pavement isn't great
You still have most grip.
>get wet
Get better shit
>even if I have fucktons of rain gear to keep me mostly dry while riding
GET BETTER SHIT
> I have to find somewhere to store a bunch of wet gear without it getting stolen while I'm at work/class
At work just at the coat hanger near a heater at your workplace
In class let your jacket hang over your seat, keep the rest on
>It's just not fun or convenient. Why do you insist everyone should like riding in the rain?
It's more convenient than sitting in traffic.
ITT: Retarded shit that shouldn't be a thing.

For one thing, I use the fuck out of my bluetooth.

Yeah same. And if a car has a dual clutch I'm fine with it.

>>16659427
>take 1970 specs

New chassis that isn't based on anything else and doesn't weigh 2 literal tons.
You don't. It does exactly what it's meant to, be a flashy shitbarge with lots of power for the money. If anything you should fix the Mustang and Camaro pretending to be sports cars.
Why are there no direct competitors to the WRX in its price range?
>4 doors
>awd
>turbo
all rivals are either fwd, NA, or just plain underpowered shit
Because almost everyone who wants that sort of car will probably get a WRX
And the rest are in Europe
Because people who are so poor they have to buy the regular WRX have to give a shit about fuel economy, which FWD better delivers.
>>16657440
Because sport compact cars are dying.
Everyone wants CUVs and electric/hybrids.
In 10 years there won't be any affordable driver's cars other than the Miata and WRX.
Why is the R8 so perfect?
At what? Being slow and boring and looking like a TT wit a bodykit?
