Jesus Christ, it's gotten worse.
Then again just look at TK's rules for "Offensive/Disruptive Content".

I went to TK today because of that anon. I did not like what I saw.
Pick your favorite of the 3.
Zambot 3.
I love samurai looking robots and Zambot 3 does the job very well for me. plus I like the show a lot.
Daitarn 3 and Trider are cool too.
I dig Daitarn the most, really wish Trider had subs though.

Whats the best RX-78-2 figure that's not a kit? Both giant expensive ones and reasonably priced desk sized ones.

Never change, hypocritical metaposters.
You Anons better buy all the toys for Ex-Aid, I don't want another budget drop like Drive, ok?
Why the fuck is he so BORING. Why is this whole show so fucking lame.
>>14509279
Because the show wants Tekkadan to come across as likable, so they have to move the focus away from Mikarzuki and the nature of their actions.
And like clockwork after a G-Reco shitposting thread there is a IBO one.
Stay classy /m/.
>>14509325
Everybody generally agrees that IBO sucks so it's not like there's going to be many arguments.

That one's really, really old. Like, I remember it as far back as 2008.
>>14509104
I'll get to that one later
So, I watched Wing for the first time last week, and it was pretty ok. I enjoyed it. I was waiting to watch Endless Waltz with friends, and holy fuck.
That was fucking bad.
Does anyone else feel differently? Discuss.
>>14509001
I don't really remember it all that well. I do recall liking how it wrapped up Relena's character and the story by having her give up on total pacifism and inciting people to stand up for themselves instead of relying on the Gundams though. It's idiotic "and then there were no more mobile suits" ending was a bad idea, but that action on Relena's part wasn't. I recall liking the Serpents too, along with Tallgeese III and it blowing up an asteroid. The villain was dumb as was much of Heero and Wufei's involvement, including him getting emotional over the memory of a dead dog or something while they fought. It's an okay wrap up to a silly show I guess. Wing and it's use of drones and ruminations on pacifism and the place of soldiers or war in society could have made for a more interesting show than what we got though and is a waste of some good ideas to my mind.
>>14509023
Dead girl, not dog. Your memory sucks.
Yeah, Endless Waltz is terrible. Katoki's redesigns really do a disservice to the originals aside from Heavyarms and Deathscythe Hell. Tallgeese III is the most standout suit and I still don't like it too much compared to the other Tallgeeses.
It's just too short and the antagonists were poorly developed. The "Gundams were never seen again" at the end is just hilarious.
When watching Gundam F91, all I can think of is what was the part that got cut out. It seems like the whole UC timeline have a lot of aborted projects and stuff, from the original 0079 story in which Amuro was supposed to die to the planned F91 show.
What is your opinion on this matter? The cut parts could have made the UC better?
Also, does anyone know where I could find information on the planned story for F91? Gundam wiki is a bit light on the matter.
>>14508865
The original Gundam story wasn't going to have Amuro die. There's information on it floating around, from Mark Simmons translating an summary from one of the data books I think, and what we got was better. The original ending is much more generic and has Amuro killing Gihren for being the real cause of the war like a real superhero influenced story, instead of him just being a pawn in larger events like what we got.
I think it might have made Char's character better, since he realizes the futility of revenge given his focus on it helps Gihren achieve domination and I prefer his relationship with Amuro in Zeta over CCA as a denouement, since it's just two old rivals having to put aside their enmity and realizing that what happened was beyond their ability to help since it was a war and all - it feels like a more human, personal and fitting ending than CCA, but I'm in the minority on that I think. Regardless, whether the original ending would have prevented that or CCA is debatable, since Char can still go either way even if he does realize the futility of revenge if you hold his desire to help humanity as being as important to him as the duel with Amuro and that just being a side plate.
The Amuro dying thing was only in the novels or something if I recall, and was never in the cards for the show itself to my knowledge. The novels were written after the show too I think. Beyond Crossbone I don't think there's ever been any info on what a full F91 would have been, and it's pretty obvious Crossbone is some new ideas using old parts and not what F91 would have been.
>>14508865
F91 was so good it's a shame Tomino let Crossbone happen
>>14508900
>The novels were written after the show too I think.
I always thought that the novels were the "real Gundam" Tomino planned all along, without having to twist the story to include toy-propaganda to suit the needs of the sponsors, probably because I see Tomino as the real mind behind Gundam, maybe I am wrong about that since he probably wasn't the only one behind the creation of the franchise. Either way, the novel have an interesting approach of the OYW, maybe a lot more mature from what we had with the TV show, and I wonder what would've happened to the UC if the novel was canon.
>it feels like a more human, personal and fitting ending than CCA, but I'm in the minority on that I think
I always thought that Char from CCA came out of nowhere. In Zeta he pretty much follows what you said, putting aside enmity with Amuro to fight a "common ennemy", but in CCA it is implied that he planned a war with Londo Bell only to have a fight with Amuro, and it seems like he isn't over Lalah's death while in Zeta he was pretty much over all the bad things that happened during the OYW. It's kinda weird, I never understood what they tried to do with CCA, maybe put an end to the rivalry of Amuro and Char?
>>14508902
Is Crossbone that bad?
Is it because it's bad? Is that why?
>>14508658
It went off the rails after the previous director got kicked out and Kawamori took the reigns.

The only reason to talk about it is the hot nigress.

Close enough, since one of the leads was a machine person.Still annoyed that the show ended on such an ominous note though.
how the fuck can you even kill the beast planet
an internal planet sized explosion didn't even phase it.
>>14508607
I think Mainframe shows were some of the only animation with storylines and continuity. Reminds me a lot of Japanese anime. Wish more shows had followed this model.
Shadow Raiders was pretty PG for a kid's show. A huge amount of death. No name soldiers get killed all the time every episode.

True. But in a different way than you imagine.
Would it have been possible to salvage this character and this series?
>>14507793
If you killed both Fukuda and Morosawa, maybe.
ehh I think I read some decent fics on fanfiction.net
there are like one or two that did run with the idea that kira is a bad guy
also doesnt Super Robot Wars usually fuck around with the SEED/SEED Destiny plot because even they realize it was a bit silly?
that sort of counts right
>Daryl's face when he forgets he ain't got no arms
Daryl had a hard life.

Whats more evil, killing your citizens for being disabled or disabling your citizens in an attempt to make them better weapons
>>14507298
I don't know. But this chick is REALLY happy to see Io's ios.
>>14507298
Killing off all the disabled indiscriminately is more evil.
Kill off the vegetables if you have to, but leave alone the much more treatable cases.
With the latter, they're just normal people with chopped off limbs. They at least have some shred of hope they can live a normal life after the war ends(if the war ends) with some more practical and ergonomic prosthesis attached.
Are there any actually great 60's/70's mecha anime?
>>14506636
Voltes V, Daimos and Zambot 3 count. Daikengo is apparently better than it seems, too.
Mazinger Z
>>14506660
Zambot 3 was fine, not great.
