And that was in like episode 11 or so. And it was also completely justified seeing as Sayaka has terrible judgment on the battlefield and legitimately gets in Mazinger's way so often that she probably hurts more than she helps. Giving her more weapons very well could end up in Mazinger Z getting blown up because she missed a shot because she's not very good at fighting.

Here's a shot from my favorite episode, episode 52, the episode where Kouji and Sayaka have the most epic fight they ever have, causing both of them to become so stubborn that Kouji ends up getting hurt, forcing Sayaka to deploy in Mazinger Z. You'd have a much better argument if you tried using that episode.

Nice cherry picked series that aired for like 26 episodes. Mach GoGo's animation is trash even in the first episode. The animators have no idea how to animate cars.

I can sincerely recommend both Voltes V and Daimos. If you find an episode guide, you can skip most of the filler and stick to the key plot episodes if you are stuck for time, but both shows have interesting social commentary woven into their stories in addition to pretty awesome action sequences.
