I don't think you're going to get a satisfying answer here. Neither has seen DVD releases outside of the specials, so I suspect that you'll have a very hard time finding someone outside of Japan who has actually seen them.
I have seen the Robotack special though, so I can say at the very least that Robotack himself is exceptionally irritating. Kabutack came across much less like a blithering moron. I'd guess that it would be very difficult to stomach Robotack's personality for more than 20 minutes, much less an entire series.

So I recently decided to rewatch G-reco andsome parts of gundam AGE's first arc
I know that both series have their issues (mostly considering their story), but I still found myself enjoying them despite that because of how their atmosphere felt.
Stuff like Eureka seven,Mega Man Legends,Turn A and King Gainer seem to fall in this category for me as well and I've noticed at least one thing that seems to contribute the most are the settings.
A lot of the series I mentioned all had pretty unique and memorable worlds, and were also pretty lighthearted which helps greatly in bringing about that nostalgic feeling of enjoyment when watching.
Anyway I just wanted to know what you other /m/en like about comfy mecha series

Eureka Seven, G-reco and Turn A are some of my favourite shows and I think G-reco is the best of three all due to the amount of time the characters bounce off of each other and having fun little dialogues in almost every scene.

I also loved how the characters did that too.
In a lot of shows the ship's crew are just there in the background or act as a potential source of drama,but I like how in the shows mentioned they have a bit of characterization through their actions.
It makes the setting feel more lively and like they actually do things besides sit at their respective positions all day.

People say that the Empire was a deep nuanced and morally grey faction (this claim usually being backed by Legends wankery) while the First Order is dumb and cartoonishly evil.
I can't be the only who thinks the exact opposite is true. As far as I can tell, the Empire were complete cunts and the First Order did nothing wrong. They were minding their own god damned business in the western portion of the galaxy while the Republic kept bushwhacking them with their Reb- I mean Resistance puppets.

A lot of backround info from reference books says the Resistance was funded out of pocket by Leia and her staff, the New Republic generally didn't fucking care about the first order until they blew up not!Coruscant and basically declared war. Of course this is never explained in the movie because that would be too easy.
