Alright /k, I have a couple questions here.
About a year ago, I bought an AR15, but now im seriously beginning to question If I should have gone with an AK platform. It feels to me like a 7.62 round would be more likely to kill, or wound more seriously with one shot, while the 556 would only wond them.
So heres my question -
Should I have gone with an ak platform
And
My rifle is a 16" barrel with a carbine length gas system and A 1 in 9 barrel twist.
I want to make some sort of upgrage to greatly encourage tumbling or "exploding" projectiles.
Can/ should I upgrade to a 20" barrel for better fragmentarion and general ballistic wackyness?
Or should I just stick to soft points in a 16 inch

If you want to kill better then forget both those toys and go .300 Win Mag or .375 H&H
>It feels to me like a 7.62 round would be more likely to kill, or wound more seriously with one shot, while the 556 would only wound them
Your 16" AR will have plenty of killing potential within the effective distance of an AK. Just get an AK anyway though - everyone should have both.
>Should I have gone with an ak platform
No. The wounding characteristics of 5.56 are perfectly adequate for civilian use, but if you really feel bothered by the idea of using a "small" round, get a .300 or 6.8 upper. Theres really no reason to buy an AK in this day and age, other than mechanical appreciation.
Is this what the surplus market has come to?
>>34726730
Sadly yes.
We need a cool source for fun guns and the ATE to be less gay on the Importation of them.
>>34726730
Just buy an AR you fucking poorfag.

do military vehicles have keys?
if not how do they make sure nobody can steal them?
what if in battle enemy sneaks to your tank and steals it?
or trucks and jeeps parked at the base what if some soldier goes rouge can he just take em?

bump please answer
>>34726658
They don't have keys and all that keeps them safe at base is the fence and guards.
Case in point in 1995 a plumber stole a M60 from a Natty guard base and went on a joyride.
>>34726708
>all that keeps them safe at base is the fence and guards.
This + the fact that the bigger stuff normally has more of a start-up process than "hit the start button and mash the gas"
So /k/,the Gripen fags are getting really annoying with their outlandish claims
Let's clear this for once and for all,
F-16 Blk70/72 vs The Gripen NG, who would win in,
1.BVR engagement
2.WVR dogfight
3.and a race to bomb either of the pilots in-laws whose locations will be equidistant from the starting point as accurately and effectively as possible
>>34726656
imo gripen f-16 is old design from the 70s its so much you can do with an old airframe
imo my ranking for fighters in 2017 is
1.pak fa/f-22
2. j-20
3.rafale
4.su 35/30/27
5.gripen
6.eurofighter
7.mig 35
8.f-15
9.f-16
10.f-35 (maybe better than 4gen aircraft but very expensive for what you get)
>>34726697
Someone post the chart that wasnt made by Rafalefag in 2012
>>34726697
Why is the F-22 not in that list, it is without a doubt the best one there.
Also, what's your criteria?
Looks like the MDR is no longer Vaporware

If you don't sleep nakid with only a bulletproof vest on then you don't take your and your family safety seriously.
When confronting you must attack your enemy's psyche

>Not wearing a light shirt under your vest
Dude, way to tear up your nipples.
>>34726301
This guys got a point, my right nip is very prone to chaffing, il need a tee shirt or wifebeater, maybe throw on my gfs panties to get into the enemy's head, for defensive purposes of course
>>34726287
i have like five armor vests, none of them are comfortable to sleep in. you're not going to be combat effective if you haven't had a good nights sleep in as long as you can remember.
Any ideas where I could get an authentic Luger p08 online? I can only find shady auction sites, and I'd prefer to have a set price.
>>34726191
What do you mean by "authentic"? The vast majority of Lugers on the market are originals.
>>34726205
A lot of one I've seen are newer reproductions of Lugers. As I said, shady sites, so it's good to know that it will be easier than previously thought to get an original.
You're welcome

Good old image board thread

Why is there so little discussion of the American Revolution of 1776 from a military perspective? Wars like the American civil war and WW1 get analyzed to death but the Revolution always seems to be framed as a purely philosophical conflict with little attention given to the actual logistics of the situation. It seems that rather than being analyzed to death, the Revolution has been romanticized to death. What were the decisive battles, and what mistakes did the British troops make that caused them to suffer defeats?
The biggest mistake the British made was not pursuing Washington after the Battle of Long Island. Had they done so, Washington's army would've likely been destroyed.
