I live in NYC so my choices for fun gunz is very limited to stay legal. I'm looking at going to a gun show this weekend to pick up a rifle that i will keep at a friend's house up there until my license gets approved in the city. Whats a fair price to pick up a Mini 14 Ranch? Or does /k/ have any suggestions as to a fun rifle that is legal on the city? Nothing to black and violent looking we already have enough of those in the 5 boroughs.

I went to the biggest gun shop/club in my region in order try a few 9mm pistols. I asked if they had a walther PPQ and the lady startled at me, like if I said something totally stupid. She started laughing with her collegues, saying they don't sell crap and only sell good pistols. She said for the price you pay for a walther, you can get something better. They also said they are more competition focused so they mostly sell high end pistols.
I was confused because well...their pistols were pretty standard. They had USPs, P30s, CZs, Tanfoglio, P320, Glocks, P226/227, shit load of 1911s. They only had 1 walther Q5 match like pic related but said she wpuldn't recommend it to me.
Are they right? Are Walthers this shitty?

No hunting thread? Hunting thread. This season im going elk hunting with my family in Colorado and I'm not sure what caliber rifle to get. My uncle has shot elk here for 20 years with 30-06 but im thinking maybe 7mm rem mag. What does /k/ use to hunt larger than deer game?

They're big deer, they're not armored monsters. A 7 mag would work just fine, assuming you buy a controlled expansion load, but it is by no means mandatory.

Hey /k/. I recently decided that I need to swap my .38 that I carry for a 9mm. The reasons that I want to switch it out are: 1. My airweight is uncomfortable to shoot; 2. Range ammo is almost double the price compared to 9mm.
I am very short on cash, so have decided to either sell it, along with all of the accessories for $350 (so if people want to haggle me down to $300) or trade it outright for an M&P9 shield.Are there other similarly sized and priced 9mm handguns that /k/ has experience with that I should look into?

I was looking to order some mags and possibly an upper from PSA. I've never ordered from them before, but I saw rumors that they've had quite a few cases of stolen credit cards after ppl ordered from them.
Should I just order elsewhere or is this an old issue they've since corrected?
