yes, the shooter has rights too, anon
what gives you the right to play judge jury and executioner?
>>
>>34726186
If you shout loudly, you may frighten the shooter, causing him to flee.
>>

The guidelines in my office at below

1. RUN
2. HIDE
3. FIGHT

Good work lawyers, what is in place to protect me and help me come home if something pops off at work?
>>
>>34726186
>Do they just expect people to hide under their desk?
Yes, because the politically correct thing to do is be docile and let whatever happens happen.
Taking care of criminals is the police's job, not yours, citizen.

If it was adequate enough for a nuclear holocaust it's good enough for an active shooter. Duck and Cover is always the answer.

Anon has gun and shoots shooter
Cops show up knowing there's s guy with a gun and see anon

Rip anon.
Alternatively
Anon shoots shooter
Now normies don't know who is the shooter and misinform the police

It's not political correctness, it's companies not wanting legal liabilities

I shit you not, when I was in grad school we had to watch an active shooter video that showed a group of students stopping two active shooters by throwing a fire extinguisher at one of them (it wasn't clear how this stopped the other one).
>>
>>34726186
Do I work with you?

Yes the active shooter video at my work is great. "hide yourself with a trash can, this will surely help"
>>
>>34728004
The one for my school showed the kids throwing heavy textbooks, pencils, and backpacks as the shooter just walks through the door into a small classroom.

Statements like this, even made sarcastically, annoying the everloving shit out of me. Cops are there to wipe up your brain matter once the fight is over.

let me tell you WHAT, listen to me naw I've been around good bita ways, THERE AINT no ONE SINGLE robber, home intruder, shooter, who gonna stick around after hearin tha CHA CHINK of a good old shotgun bein cocked, thats ALL YOU NEED, you see these military pistols, rifles, military style grips, they don't even mean nothin nobody needs them, I scared off plenty of bad guys just with my trusty 12 gauge, didnt not even have to shoot ONE BULLET at em, not even no point ot havin some stupid military gun at close quaters anyhow just no point to it a shotgun'll do you for all you need, aint no differance for some stinkin military bullet and a good shell, you hear about them muhreens in iraq havin troublr with all their military rifles with some towel heads, why? because its CQC in CQC it don't matter what you're packin its all the same, no time for no military bullets to speed up and do they're damage! people got this notion that a GOOD AMERICAN SHOTGUN is somehow not gonna protect that, its really ignorant, too much television and not enough PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE ON THE MATTER, you give every principal n every school one good 12 gauge and there wont be nobody shootin up any schools for never, and we wont hafta have this WILD WEST INSANITY near our children.

I and 3 other people are the only non-veterans on staff. One of our range officers is an ex-army medic, one of our counter guys is ex-marine infantry currently going to nursing school, and one of our other counter guys is ex-marine infantry who was an EMT for 3 years.

That is also excluding the other 6 guys who are some form of ex-infantry who have actually treated wounds in combat.

We kind of lucked out on the pertinent medical knowledge front.

Insurance payout, you kill the shooter you might deter the company from collecting on their insurance. Businesses are brutal, if they can make money off your unfortunate demise. They might do so.

It is the best crew I have ever worked with. I wish it payed better, but considering I'm a college student and it gets me a pretty deep discount on guns, I really couldn't ask for better.

OK look. The average person isn't exactly a Tier 1 operator or olympian. If shit pops off and there's a long gunman, they want you to think primarily in terms of shelter in place because it keeps the situation mostly static.

That way, as the AS moves and the space is mostly otherwise clear, he is easier for police to ID and deal with.

Of course sitting there like a seal waiting to be clubbed is retarded, but they're trying to avoid chaos with people running helter skelter. When that happens, people bunch up at doors, which makes them easy targets and obstructs the police from getting in to engage the shooter. It also provides cover (no clean shots without hitting a bystander/hostages) and concealment (which moving body is a fleeing victim? which is the shooter? which one to shoot at?).

Trying to fight a person who is armed with a gun when you aren't is also a problem. You're more likely to get gunned down running at him than trying to shelter in place. If you're lucky you might get a good tackle, but he might still shoot you off with a secondary weapon. There's also the danger of being mis-identified as the shooter and getting shot by the cops.

Best policy is to NOPE out via secondary exit or if trapped, hold down the choke points going in by barricading the doors or waiting around the corner with a fire extinguisher or some other large blunt object. Maybe climb out a window. Definitely do something, but use your environment to your advantage. Running out there half cocked like a tard is a good way of adding a body to the count, your own.

If you get blown away at work it doesn't affect the company at all, but if you shoot back and accidentally hit a bystander the company could be out millions in a civil suit.

It's in your employer's best interest to just let you get killed. They can always do a round of new hires.
