I wish I had friends that liked guns, so I wouldn't have to come here anymore to let all my gun/military history autism out.
I'd be a normie that spends an hour online a day MAX if I simply stopped coming to /k/.

Think of all the cool shit people have owned, then died and their kids who know nothing about it simply discard it or turn it into the police.

Just talked myself out of trading for a 1911. I love them so, so much, but I can't justify to myself having more than one handgun right now, and the 1911 is just outshone in pretty much every department by newer guns.
Sometimes I feel sad, knowing that my favorite gun isn't the best gun, as much as I'd like it to be. I'm sure I'll pick up a really nice one as a range toy when I can better afford it, but for now... I just think wistfully back to the days when our glorious handgun was everything to everyone. I leave this for you, my friends, so that you can see some beautiful history.

>1911 is just outshone in pretty much every department by newer guns.
Except for the only department which actually matters, which is the ability to save your ass. When you "see the elephant," you're not going to give a fuck about all the "advantages" of newer guns.
>>34730690
>which is the ability to save your ass.
>1911 failure rates compared to modern guns
>1911 maintenance requirements compared to modern guns
>1911 'mandatory replacement parts' compared to modern guns
>1911 weight compared to modern guns
The 1911 is a beautiful piece of history, and easily my favorite gun of all time, but it is objectively (as measured by various military and law enforcement agencies) less likely to save your ass than any other modern production pistol.
>>34730603
>justify
Like what, you can't afford multiple kinds of ammo?
You don't actually want it enough or want something else more?
And what kind of 1911?

Well boys, I graduated a couple months ago and I got a job offer. Came with a nice sign on bonus, as well as a relocation bonus. Only problem is that I have to go to Detroit.
I've been to Michigan before and I loved it, but I haven't been to Detroit yet. That being said, I did spend the first 11 years of my life living in New Orleans so I am sort of used to the constant cultural enrichment gifted to us by our black community members.
Since I am a yuppie faggot, I got a 12 month lease on an edgy loft in a building that a coworker said is really nice, but the google earth of the surrounding area looks like shit. Good thing I got my gats.
Any fellow /k/ommandos in Detroit? If so, do you recommend any good places to shoot? Places to avoid? Any gun stores in the area that have decent selections?
>>34730470
Detroit is fine, don't be a puss puss. Best place to shoot is the Lapeer pit, but it's an hour away.
>>34730470
Have fun getting raped by Tyrone at 3am
If they legalize weed the street gang problem goes away, no need to fight over territory anymore. Then that whole place will gentrify up nicely.
I just bought this glock from my local black guy for $30,000. Did I do good or what /k/?
>>34730454
sigh
>>34730458
whats wrong?
>>34730454
It's fine but you paid about $9,689.51 too much for it
These fuckers have gone rogue how do we fight them?
>>34730360
EMPs, nonsentient computer viruses, and lots and lots of deep ass pits for them to fall into.
Also, AT mines, rocket launchers, and catching them early, before we have Matrix levels of robots.
>>34730360

I like my latest AR build but imho it could really use some wood.
I have lots of scraps of wood laying about let's see what we can do here. Here is a piece of walnut. It looks lighter than what you might think to be walnut, but that's only because there's no finish.
This 3/4" stock is not thick enough to be useful, so I will have to cut it in two and laminate it.
Of course I use my Japanese saw for this. Folded 1000x out of pure Japanese steel it makes a joke out of pig disgusting western saws.
>>34730324
make a wood a1 set
PROTIP: use tons of glue

you state that like we don't know what that MRE's are.

What are the best /k/ movies or books with blue on blue, or agency infighting gone hot?
Coups, assassinations, or otherwise
For example:
Ghost in the Shell (1995)
Attack on Precinct 13 (1976)
Internal Affairs (2002) (or in the US, The Departed)
The Rock (1996)
There was no infighting in Precinct 13.
