Why is there so little discussion of the American Revolution

The biggest mistake the British made was not pursuing Washington after the Battle of Long Island. Had they done so, Washington's army would've likely been destroyed.

It was also a really sad, piss-poor war. The Revolution is romanticized, but the actual combat is not except those 2-3 times where the US did something right. The fact that the colonies held together at all is what is really interesting about it.
