Why is there so little discussion of the American Revolution of 1776 from a military perspective? Wars like the American civil war and WW1 get analyzed to death but the Revolution always seems to be framed as a purely philosophical conflict with little attention given to the actual logistics of the situation. It seems that rather than being analyzed to death, the Revolution has been romanticized to death. What were the decisive battles, and what mistakes did the British troops make that caused them to suffer defeats?
>>
The biggest mistake the British made was not pursuing Washington after the Battle of Long Island. Had they done so, Washington's army would've likely been destroyed.

The French and Spanish intervention.

You know why we don't study the Revolution to death? 'Cause then we'd have to admit that foreign powers won it for us.

>>34726007
Because liberation was obtained, duh. Can't let the freedom loving terrorists get their ball rolling or they might realize who is trying everything they can to control the opposition and the narrative.... Cough cough builderburg meetings, agenda 21, no income taxes in USA, CIA and plans to divide and conquer for their precious satan.

The Brits were completely broke after the French and Indian War and the colonies were hardly worth borrowing money or plunging themselves even further into debt to commit a full scale war against them.

americans are laughably inept at warfare and have literally never won a war without either having waged it purely internally, or having waged it with massive outside assistance (e.g. french assistance against the brits and mexicans, russian and commonwealth assistance against the already-losing germans and chinese assisance against the third-world japs, NATO assistance against the north koreans and vietnamese, NATO assistance against various middle east groups, most of those being lost wars that achieved literally nothing except the deaths of amerikansky personnel for literally nothing)
>>
>>34726007

Because it is one of the least interesting wars of the period.

Like the American civil war, it's dull to anyone not involved.

Even from a British point of view it's not interesting as the war was 'won' because of the lack of British interest in pursuing it.
>>
>>34726007
Because it isn't a very interesting war. The battles aren't very complex, the British are more concerned with other wars and failed to dedicate the necessary resources to actually wage it, the French basically used it as a proxy war.

you win the most stupid post on /k/ today.

Nigga what? The ACW was highly important for all the new technologies that were fielded as well as many fascinating strategies and tactics that were utilized.

I Struggle to think of anything in the American civil war that is more interesting than the Crimean war

Not even worth a (you).

try using an argument instead of generic insults.

because
>>>/his/ exists.

It was also a really sad, piss-poor war. The Revolution is romanticized, but the actual combat is not except those 2-3 times where the US did something right. The fact that the colonies held together at all is what is really interesting about it.
