I want to leave USA and immigrate to Russia, and join the military.
Thing is I don't speak Russian and don't know where I could get the opportunity to learn the language. Any tips or ideas?
Sorry also if this isn't /k/ related I wasn't sure which board to put this in

>I want to leave USA and immigrate to Russia, and join the military.
Why?
Oh look it's THIS thread again
I've been planning on getting a new 7.62x51 battle rifle soon and I'm stuck between these two. Main difference is obviously the SR-25 is an AR platform as well as the fact that the SCAR 17 is ~$3,000 and the SR-25 ACC is ~$4,200.
Which would you pick, /k/?
the scar for sure
the AR is mainly the price it is because lol KAC
I'd really like to own a SCAR-17, but the winner is the SR-25, and it's not really even close IMO.
Either choice you make, you're getting a hell of a rifle, good luck deciding OP.
>>29342369
What I learned is never get an AR that is more than $3000 when there is no real investment that actually fixes the the rifle's weakness.
Ok so I paid about $130-$150 for this Sfera helmet, I suspect it might be a replica, but the seller claims it to be the real deal. But the metal plates are supposedly titanium but there are no labels, markings, or writings on the four metal pieces that make the helmet, nor on the helmet co vets, and the padding in the helmet.
Does any one here no or can confirm this is a replica and has no ballistic protection?
>>29341929
For that price I highly doubt it's real, but it's still pretty cheap for a replica last i checked so that's not too bad I guess
>>29341929
Most likely a replica considering the price.
>>29341938
the 6b71-m helmet he sold me was real
Would you buy an M1 Carbine reproduction chambered in .357 Magnum?
>>29340364
I'd buy any mag-fed semiauto rifle in .357.
Assuming it wasn't too pricey and worked as designed with no major flaws, probably.
>>29340364
No
I already reload 30 carbine
& 357 for that matter, but I already own 3 carbines, I'm not buying another one anytime soon

I have absolutely no problem with this. I would love to get a spare barrel for my NEF shotgun and cut it down to 10 inches or so.
NFA review has been concluded, here's a quick run-down.
-5rnd magazine limit for centrefire and rimfire rifles
-6rnd limit for handguns
-lever action weapons have been moved to C cat
-buyback for k31 style weapons with a fixed mag over 5 rnds, all other magazines will be welded/pinned in order to meet the new requirements
-Straight-pull actions moved to C cat
-Military style rifles and accessories (red dots and the such) are now restricted from public sale on the federal level
-Ammunition log book at gun stores to record ammunition purchases
-A and B categories will now require a separate course and licence just like the other categories
-Ammunition to be stored in a safe that is of the same standard as the one for your guns (still separate however)
-effective Jan 1 2017 if the amendment passes the senate
I don't know what to say any more.

I'm looking to buy my first handgun, going to use it for home defense and general shooting fun. Maybe take a defensive hangun class with it. Any reason NOT to get a Canik TP9SF? I really don't see why I would pay 150 bucks more for a Glock/M&P/XD when for 350 shipped I can get the canik and it even comes with a decent holster.
Thoughts? Am I missing something here?
>>29338807
Get it. I've shot a few and was very satisfied with the pistol given the price point
You will be selling your soul to a rogue state that illegally inhabits part of Greece and killed tried to kill off multiple ethnic groups because they were genetically superior.
Other than that, its a good gun.

deal with it fgt
I've been doing more urban exploration lately. My city has tons of abandoned buildings and a great underground tunnel system.
The only problem is that we have a sizeable hobo population that is known to occupy these areas.
I need help finding decent and suitable gear.
My main needs are good arm and hand protection, good lighting, and short blunt hand weapons for tight spaces since most of the buildings are older and the hobos rarely have more than knives. I don't plan on actively seeking them out, but I want to be prepared if I run into them.
Important gear
>hand armor/tactical gloves
>forearm armor
>short batons
>headlamp/any mounted lighting
>tactical steel toe boots

Both programmes are poorly managed and delayed/overpriced.

How do we end the Combine invasion?
Just need a crowbar. Lugging around a garden gnome and launching it into space is purely optional.
>>29331275
have the G-man send Gordon to the the Combine homeworld, obviously

Sorry, pay the G-man to send Gordon Freeman to the Combine homeworld.

Not great. Stuck in college, great state for guns but I won't have an apartment for a few months and by that time I'll be too busy working and too poor to become hazguns. But hey, at least I get to chill with horses a bit in the meantime, and the job is a good one.
>>29371497
>I get to chill with horses a bit
Don't date any horse grills, though. Seriously.
Things could be better. Went back home for Easter Break and found out one of the guys I went to BMQ with in the reserves has died. Other than that, I'm kinda happy to be home for a few days.

First?
Hey guys, I built my AR last year. After damaging a receiver trying to put a barrel nut on, I figured I should buy another upper receiver and have a reputable gunsmith do it.
After reading great reviews for "Firearms Service Center" I took my pieces up there to get get it finally built.
After that, I shot it, it shot fine. Jammed on some steel ammo, ate through some brass ammo.
Then I didn't do anything with it for 8 months.
I took it back out, and it started low gassing. Not fully expelling the spent round before the first one wanted to go back in.
I off my handguard, and my gasblock was off, and pic related was what I saw. The "I'm da AR guy I built dem in da army" guy at the range said this was likely the problem. But I haven't shot it since realigning it with some calipers and specs.
The big issue I have is. I got to looking at my gun, and my handguard is damaged. The way it fits onto the barrel nut is warped and some teeth are chipped on that same handguard. Which is a $180 one from midwest industries.
Should I go up to the service center and ask them to do something about this? It has been 8 months and I've put a 200 rounds through the gun since. But damage to my handguard is unacceptable to me. Along with, there were a lot of marks on the bottom of the gas block where it looks like they realigned the block quite a few times.
What do, other than shoot my gun soon to make sure that gas problem is gone?

Anti poaching edition. I want to see the shit you'd wear out in the South African bush. Pic not related, just my current progress on my plate carrier.
Boogerbutt made a different thread but didn't have GQ in the title, so I support this one. I'ma go take a new picture of my (slightly) updated stuff.

Fuck it, it's been up for hours and has 6 replies. Im stepping up. Also need some help designing a p90 set up for a friend. No armor.
I'm thinking a belt set up for most of his shit, but a really low hanging chest rig with 3 p90 mags. Those fuckers are tall and fit well in taco mags, but bending side to side caused interference
As promised, here is the update on the anti-poaching squad/project.
I met with the lawyer this week. Articles of incorporation are being filed.
Board Members have been selected, close family and friends for now with the intent to replace most of them with higher profile people who can assist in bringing in funds.
After getting incorporated, we will file for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS
I had a call this morning with lawyer in South Africa. Planning on registering an NPO in SA. The U.S. based non profit will fund the south african NPO. I have a South African who will technically be the head of that organization until my permanent resident application is approved (I do qualify and expect the application to be approved before the IRS approves the non profit status) , at which time I will become the head of that organization.
I've been in contact with my friend, who is a wildlife crimes detective in the South African Police Services. Our NPO will also be registered as a security company and the detective will become a full time employee once funds are available ($12,000). He will be the main force on the ground, working his LE contacts to get volunteer (ranch owners will make donation to the NPO) ranch ranger positions lined up. The hope is to get 6-10 ranches lined up. Rangers may rotate between ranches as needed.
U.S. based volunteers who wish to do anti-poaching work will need to apply for a South African Volunteer Visa
http://www.southafrica-newyork.net/homeaffairs/charitable.htm
There might be the opportunity for those who wish to come for a shorter program if they want to come on a standard tourist visa.
While the South African NPO can't pay you, the U.S. based 501(c)(3) will fund your travel, expenses, and provide a stipend while you're on the ground in South Africa. I expect the tour of duty to last at least 4 months and up to 3 years if willing.
I fully plan to get those who are willing to come for a year or more the FGASA level one certification. This would allow you to do some extra work on a ranch, as a game guide, and earn some nice tip money. I'm still working on getting a FGASA instructor to come to our location for the two week practical.
As for raising funds. Kickstarter does not allow charitable projects. GoFundMe and indiegogo do allow fundraising. I have a lot of video I've shot and the SA cop has lots of case photos and video we can use. Now we just have to lay out the video and hire a narrator and editor. We can start raising funds after we get non-profit status. I'm also working with a web designer/ecommerce guy to set up a mission website complete with an online store and donation method.
Okay, I think that's about it for now.
