>Japan has already committed to buying 42 Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighters. But that aircraft's perceived shortcomings in air-to-air combat and the United States' refusal to sell its Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor have encouraged Japan to consider a domestic-led program to replace its fleet of aging Boeing F-15J warplanes.

>While the F-35s will replace some of Japan's strike fighters, they are not a replacement for the F-15s in the air superiority role and don't have the F-22's capabilities, said one Japan-based source familiar with the thinking inside the country’s defense ministry.

>Upgrades to a large portion of over 150 aging Japan Air Self Defence Force F-15Js, to incorporate new engines and radars among other advanced capabilities, could proceed while research into the F-3 program continues, said the sources.

>Lockheed Martin said it was very interested in working with Tokyo on the proposed F-3 program. "Lockheed Martin has a very long history of developing new fighter aircraft, both indigenously and as a foreign partnership that incorporates leading edge technology to address emerging threats," a spokesman said in an email.

what are some good weapons handling videos that you could study to make people move more appropriately on film, just need a few to get me in the right direction.

Like what are some realistic covering tactics? When to have trigger discipline and when to have the finger inside the trigger guard?
What about like when to switch to pistols, or flanking?

I know of these concepts but nothing that's explanatory.

Pic semi-related. Stylized but nice.

They use special ammo to get the flash, if they don't just cgi it which is more common these days. What's correct is rarely what looks cool and I don't really care about "realism" so much as that they stop doing stupid shit.
For example i was watching Daredevil season 2 and the punisher character shields himself from bullets with what appears to be a price of wood. That's the kind of shit that ruins the scene. Meanwhile some move like >>29355524 which I haven't seen before and probably isn't really correct but nonetheless makes you go "Hey neat" is pretty awesome.

So to answer your question, what they should do is go get some real tame time and shoot some different real world targets. Shoot up a car. I enjoyed John Whick but at the end when they're firing full auto into his car and he doesn't die because lol you're safe from bullets in a car, it totally took me out of the movie.

Why is CIWS considered insufficient to defend warships?
46 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
>>29355473
It's just considered very very last ditch after everything else.
>>
>>29355473
It just isn't as accurate or as consistent at destroying missiles as would be ideal for a system designed to defend hundreds of people.
>>
>>29355473
As for why? I don't know. Perhaps the technology on most CIWSs are/is old. Hitting something like a supersonic missile is hard for a gun to do. We might see more powerful lasers take its place.

Hey, anons serving/having served in armed forces: what was the place of semi-auto versus burst/auto fire in the combat doctrine taught to you?
73 posts and 8 images submitted.
>>
Conscriptboo here.

Generally full auto is for clearing out trenches and indoors, never saw that other than on paper, spent all my time on forest.

In my case in small long range recon patrols full auto was used to burn through mags when surprised or detected by enemy so they would think they ran into a bigger enemy troops than they really had and us few guys would have more time to pack our stuff and haul ass out of there.
Pretty much there was only two modes, never fire and just observe or go full retard and run away.

U.s. Army Infantry fag here

Semi
>for everyday use
> mostly accurate fire while machine guns make most of the covering fire
>great for CQB, put every round right where I want it

Burst
>redheaded step child
>more common than full auto, less useful than everything
>the saw is down, get some heads down
>we need go sound like a bigger force than we are
>doctrinally, used during trench clearing. But full auto would work too...

Full auto
>it's going down
>I'm yelling giiimmmbbbeeerrrr
>can be used same way as burst + more
>once almost had the PB overrun. Exact fire command was "wax that ass".
>can either be a really useful thing, or some dumbass can just be dumping huge amounts of ammo on nothing
>>
Bundeswehr fag here

We use autofire almost never. Maybe dump a mag arround the corner before entering a room. Or when someone is really in your face. Other than that its quick semiauto only most of the time 2 in a row. So you have one accurate hit and the second one immediatly behind it still on target but not in the same place so you have more stopping power. Full auto is for retards that cant aim. You gonna waste alot of usefull ammo when fullautoing. Its rarely used also when your lmg cant fire, so someones taking his role and lays down fire but thats it.

Finally shot my LC9s for the first time today, never fired a non-22lr pistol, never been to a public range. Had a couple issues.
>consistently shot too low
>carved up my thumb with the nail on my trigger finger.
>pistol felt like it was going to jump out of my hand every shot
>sometimes the slide locked back with rounds still in the mag (Winchester Train and Federal 124gr)
Obviously I'm holding it wrong, so where do I put my hands?
Also, how thoroughly should I be cleaning it, and how many rounds do you usually take with you? I blew through 150 but it didn't feel like it was enough, there was some paper left still.

It's pretty shit for a beginner's pistol, but here goes.
aim higher

trim your nails or move your thumb down

just make sure you have a good grip on it- small pistols like this aren't comfortable, especially the LC9s

make sure you're not pushing the slide stop up with your grip

It should be fine to go without cleaning after 150 rounds. 500 rounds would be fine, maybe even cautious just so long as the fouling isn't causing malfunctions. Clean until you can't get more carbon out, then oil. May as well do the job right while you're in there.
I try to bring at least 300 rounds of 9mm for a few hours on the range.
>>
Nobody can tell you how to hold it.
There is a jerry miculek video on youtube though. Just for starters.
You probably had your finger on thr slide lock.

I usualy take 100 rounds for a pistol day.
>>
>>29348540
Gotta keep them nails short. A lot of handguns will do that.

Subcompacts are emergency guns, they don't handle well and are difficult to be accurate with. That's just inherent with the size. If performance is what you want go with a compact. But honestly a sub is probably all you'll need unless you expect to get into legit gunfights. Anyone that's a serious threat is likely going to be within 10-15 feet, and if it's multiple assailants they tend to scatter when a shot rings out. The most important thing is having it when you need it (and therefore keeping it on you at all times) so the convenience of a subcompact may be in your favor.

Pretty dumb. They have no reach, require decent strength to use effectively, are heavy, and can possibly break your hands. I would much rather just carry around a pocket knife or something, brass knucks are just a novelty.
