They're accurate
They're reliable
The aftermarket is without equal in the gun industry
They are very user-friendly
The AR-15 has negligible recoil
They are exceedingly modular and can be completely taken apart with only a vice, a hammer, some punches, and an armorer's wrench.
The bottom of the AR-15 market fell out after Sandy, resulting in a shitload of parts being available for dirt cheap

I hated ARs until I built my own, now I think they're great. I still have one pet peeve though.

Who the fuck thought putting the pin and spring that holds the safety selector in place right above the grip was a good idea?

It seems strange to me something so basic couldn't be retained and people are trying to reconstruct it via 2d pictures.

I think you're over simplifying things a bit.

But if I over simplify as well then: Japan cut themselves off from the world and had a huge circle jerk of culture that kept swords sort of relevant because they wanted them to be. China was poor as shit, communists and generally gave no fucks about peasants and so they sent troops into battle in WW2 with swords.

The west did neither of these things so they stopped caring about swords after guns became even somewhat practical weapons.

Boom sticks and go fuck yourself
>>
>>29358317

Just because a couple of Zipperhead officers haphazardly carved up surrendered Chinese peasants with shitty dress swords does not mean that the East retained their knowledge of sword fighting.

So after April 7th all deactivated guns in Europe will be fully welded paperweights that can't even strip. (Worse than the pic, even magazines will be welded in place)

I can't see any organised resistance to this online. I know the UK dealers are bending over but what's happening in mainland Europe?

Of course the semi-auto ban will also pass.

But it isn't though. The M36 is a far more fashionable uniform. Functional too.

How does /k/ feel about GATE?

IMO it's a great attempt at recruitment by the japs, showing the NEETs what their fantasy shit would experience under modern firepower, and that they could literally protect their waifus by donning camo.

Thoughts?

I'll admit it's an interesting concept, but it falls pretty flat for the most part. Season 2 has mostly been a waste of time since the story is everywhere and nowhere.

Plus a Modern Japanese "army" shitting up a Roman era type army is just blatant slaughter. It's just there to make the Japanese go JAPAN! FUCK YEAH! Most people don't realize if Japan actually went to war with another modern country they're toast and they'd have to beg America-san for help.
>>
>>29356873
Bad sum up, really it is like modern Army vs fantasy ancient army. And what I've watched so far only one person got hit with the arrow on the modern side but thousands have died on the fantasy Army

what are you supposed to do protocol-wise if you see a grenade?

my idea was that you yell GRENAAAAAAAAAAADE

and then you jump for cover i guess. but in reality you would probably be dead from the shrapnel penetrating everything around you.
>>
>>29356306
Just find one on the ground? Or see one get tossed into the room?

For the first ATF LOL NO GRENADES, the second, lay flat on the floor, hopefully behind some kind of cover, and as far away from the grenade as possible.

What kind of radios does /k/ use?

I've been looking for A handheld radio to use at no more than a few miles. Done a lot of research and found that the best radios are probably the GMRS type, but I'd rather not need a license.

>>
If it's just something you'll be using for a few miles, get a baiting uv5r. Like, less than 30$ on Amazon, good quality and will work for what you need it for. Don't need a license for it either.
>>
>>29356357
That does need a license because it can broadcast in ranges that require it. You could use it on the low power end and technically no one would know any better but it isn't legal.

I myself have a UV-5r for daily use (muh li-ion), a Yaesu FT-817, and just this spring break I've put together a tiny low power SDR for HF.

Personally I'd recommend getting a UV-5r and using it on FRS. The reason it's illegal to do is that FRS radios are required to have a fixed antenna and limited power.

This has been the source of much butthurt in many threads. It's technically illegal, yes, but it's not like anyone gives a shit. It's like j-walking in fucking new york, everyone does it. You can do it and get away with it, no one gives a shit about a few dB of RF power it makes like no fucking difference.

Yeah, the one time I passed it it didn't count the seventh lap on the chip. Was at great lakes for four months because of it.
Already in the process of starting over again with my recruiters, no big deal though cause I will be able to get ASMOd to a senior division so I wouldn't have to do all of boot camp all over again.

Old thread's last the bumo limit. Long live the new thread.

I just got this Glock 26 and the guy who sold it to me included an old +2 mag extension. Anyone know who made it or if it's any good? Pic related is the package. All the extension itself says is "Plus 2 9mm/.40S&W". There's no manufacturer mark anywhere.

Bonus question: why are Glock mags such a pain in the ass to disassemble?
