I somehow chipped part of the edge on my PM2.
Is there anything special I have to do to fix this, or can I just sharpen it out?
>>29369217
Throw it away, irreversibly damaged.
>>29369217
Have you considered sharpening it?
>>29369217
So depending on how autistic you are:
1. You could sharpen the knife with a rough sharpening stone and then hone it with a smooth stone.
2. You could send it to Spyderco and they will remake the edge for you.
3. You could kill yourself for using your knife like a pry-bar.
I would recommend the last one.
Greetings /k/, newfag here. I recently got these guns from my grandmother. They are a bit rusty since they have been stored in the attic ever since my grandfather died, so I could use some tips on how to restore them to their former glory.
>>29368389
Those are basically useless pictures to show condition. Need to see the metal bits.
Those are ww2 era guns, bottom is a k98 and I'm pretty sure the top is a krag. Decent pieces. Don't restore. Just clean them as best you can and regularly oil them.
Is this another "look at these rare firearms, I'll ruin them and take pictures for /k/, wait they're not actually rare" threads?
take more pictures- anything that looks like words or markings, take a pic of it and post them
/k/, what in your opinion is the best deer hunting rifle cartridge for the northern Midwest (Michifag here)? I've been looking a lot at .270 as opposed to 30-06 but I can't seem to dig up anything comparing it to other major rifle calibers.
I'm looking to buy a decent centerfire rifle soon and I'm between a tikka t3 and the howa 1500. Personally from handeling the two I think the howa feels better but I hear the tikka has a better trigger, not that that couldn't be medicated in the howa with a little work.
Anyway /k/ what's your opinion on deer cartridges in wooded areas?
>pic not terribly related
.300 BLK
>>29367394
Are you sure you can use a rifle? A lot of places out east are shotgun only
.270 is a great round for most big game and would serve you well, if you will be traveling through a lot of dense forest area smaller rifles are easier to get around with
>>29367400
What's the benefit over .270? I'm just trying to make the most informed decision I can
How can you transport a gun between countries without it being stopped by customs?
Bribe the customs inspector.
Set it into a concrete block and then put that block on a pile of blocks in a shipping container and then load the shipping container into a submarine in a smugglers cove and then drive the submarine to your destination.
Ground Shipping only. In the United States they x-ray any packages going on a plane.
Getting my long rifle permit and my first 22LR next month. I've only shot a rifle once or twice when I was younger.
Any tips for a new shooter?
>>29366897
>long rifle permit
>>29366939
Or long gun permit, whatever. Required here in CT, unfortunately.
>>29366897
>long rifle permit
pfffff
ok, to be serious, first you should try shooting with something to rest on with the rifle like a table or a bench, this way you'll learn about feeling the trigger and accomoding to recoil
>inb4 >.22lr >recoil
your best bet would be to go at a shooting range and talk with some experimented shooter that can teach you new tips and educate you on marksman shooting and proper rifle use
for everything about cleaning and working on the rifle you should ask your armorer and get the necessary toolkits.
i'll be willign to help you more but my english is not very good and i'm affraid i would be misleading you to some bullshitery, have fun with your .22lr
Were the Schutzstaffel really as feared around Europe as much as media portrays? I feel like people's reactions to them were a bit exaggerated, though being any movie industry it's understandable they wanted to generate a certain level of fear. It just seems in the movies nobody fucked with the Schutzstaffel, period, and went out of their ways to make them feel at home, and I feel like that isn't so true.
>>29366624
Feared? Don't think so, the SS were a bit of a mixed bag when it came to operational effectiveness.
Despised? You fucking betcha. They were murdering British and French prisoners on the retreat in 1940. No one had any sympathy.
My great uncle, a British Int Officer in Italy had to protect SS prisoners en route to interrogation from angry soldiers.
>It just seems in the movies nobody fucked with the Schutzstaffel, period
What movies are you talking about
Also, aren't you ashamed for getting history from Hollywood?

wouldnt you?
Anyone know where I can get a C7 upper / A1 upper w/ a deflector? I can't find them anywhere new and the used market seems nonexistent.
I don't know if specifically a C7 upper would be so easy to find, but Nodak Spud makes A1 and pre-A1 style upper receivers.
Pic related is an NDS-603
They also have ones without forward assists if you want that.

Oh wait, no big brass deflector
Oh, here's one!

I don't know if it's still on sale, but here's an upper with the features you want, a "Bushmaster A1 Upper"

thanks for the great thread, 16 year old shitposter. Really brought in some insight.

Doesn't have the recoil of a carbine length, and rifle length is unnecessary for a 16in gun.
Bottom, because my raifu isn't a slut.

20in A2 upper rifle length.
K, today I stopped into my LGS for some trigger time and shopping around.
I had my eye on some level III soft armor, and when I went to purchase it, the woman behind the counter told me it was illegal for anyone other then LEO's or security personnel to do so.
I live in MD, so it wouldnt be the craziest shit I've heard, but after searching for a few hours, the only thing I could find was the longstanding law of not allowing felons to purchase body armor.
So, two questions. Are they full of shit and just didn't want to sell me the damn armor? And are there even any states in the Union that prevent citizens from purchasing body armor?
Alternatively, who's even ever heard of such a thing? LGS and shitty states general thread, I suppose.
>that's a real magazine
want
Couldn't tell you anything about MD state law, but I assume it's not dissimilar to people on Armslist who want to see your CPL. Is it a legal requirement? No, but does it potentially save them from a headache down the road? Yes.
Just go to bulletproofme
>>29364068
>longstanding law of not allowing felons to purchase body armor.
Um
why can't felon's purchase body armor?
Anyone wanna fill me in on why that law exists?

Figured I'd ask this here and not /adv/. Been fighting it for a while and denying it. But its time I ended my life. Not going to take up your time with why I need to. Just needed to ask about how I should go about it. I know my brother really likes my AR and my K31 and my dad likes my mosin because I managed to get the action pretty smooth. Just curious which I should use? Or should I sell them to help with my funeral? Was also thinking of maybe just buying a hi-point so they can still enjoy my rifles after I am gone.
1 (800) 273-8255. That's the national suicide prevention hotline number. Call them, stop being such a faggot.
If you're that dead set on killing yourself, go sell everything you own, and travel until you cant afford to. Maybe you'll have a different perspective by then.

Mosin it is
What if it's all just a conspiracy theory, /k/?
What if all these mass shootings are being staged and all these politicians spouting gun control nonsense actually have an ulterior motive?
What if instead of trying to disarm America, they are instead driving panic buys? What if they WANT the general population of the US to arm up with as much as they can?
I don't pretend there's any merit to this theory, I'm basically just pulling it out of my ass, but fuck it let's have a fun thread. If this were the case and they were trying to scare citizens of the US into arming up, for what purpose would that be? Secretly expecting an invasion? Trying to make a coming civil war more brutal? ALIENS?!
I have a theory that people are just retarded assholes.

>>29363301
I have a theory that there is some natural force that keeps us stuck to the surface of our world so we don't just float off into space.
>hurr durr I think the incompetency of the American, and in fact governments across the world-- is all a veil-- it is to make people think they are incapable of orchestrating any of the purpoted acts of common conspiracy theories-- but in the shadows behind their own idiocy, they're actually doing just what conspiracy theorists say they're doing

Bump.
I saw one of these at the gunshow last weekend, kinda wish I bought it.

It will work.
It won't be particularly safe.
>>29363245
Its illegal and probably a honeypot since companies don't make this particular adaptor
