So, my C39v2 broke after 3000 rounds, now I'm out to find a new AK to replace it, but as a poorfag college student, I need to keep it to 700 or less. What would /k/ recommend. Pic semi related.

Can the US military match Russias military in a conventional conflict?
In what way is the American military better than Russias?
>>32501207
>Can the US military match Russias military in a conventional conflict?
No. Russia could reach the Atlantic within 60 hours.
>In what way is the American military better than Russias?
None
>>32501218
Logistics would fuck Russia way before they reached the atlantic.
The question is kinda moot anyway because if it ever got to that point, global thermonuclear war.
>>32501218
>Russians can reach Atlantic in 60 hours
>US is already there
Checkmate, Russia.

Are brush guns real deal or is it fuddlore?
I'm writing something about Vietnam war myths. There is that one:
>Some soldiers preferred M14 to M16 because 7.62x51 was heavier and went through vegetation easier.
Pic related is an "extension" of this myth from Full Metal Jacket. One of the soldiers has lever gun(Winchester 1894?) which by all means is an example what people call brush gun.
Now another question is whether 7.62x51 actually performs better in these conditions than 5.56x45. As in - is it the shape or the weight that helps?
My father preferred the M16 but yes, he said there were some soldiers who preferred the M14 because of various factors, "stopping power" being one of them. He said one of the guys in his platoon carried one almost exclusively to cut down banana trees with it for lunch.
Weapon acquisition was just different in Nam. People would buy issued guns off each other. He said people were always trying to buy his issued CAR-15 off him, and everybody, including him, to get their hands on the pilots .38 snubnosed revolvers.
>>32500513
That's a red Ryder buddy.
>>32500513
Mad Dog Shriver was known to have used a .444 Marlin to 'bust bunkers'. Probably the only documented used of such gun in 'nam.
So /k/omrade, what are your planned purchases for the new year?

.303 neck sizer die, bullet mold for my black powder rifle, and a couple of cheap, reliable 9mm handguns. Along with a shitload of ammunition, a bunch of once-fired .30-06 brass, and a ton of cheap .310 to .312 inch bullets of whatever weight between 120 and 220 grains. I'm saving for some other stuff, so no new expensive guns for me.
>double barrel
>Literally two single barrel shotguns together essentially with some minor adjustment for linkage and POA
>Single barrel shotguns ~150
>Double barrels and over unders at the very cheapest are like 400+
Why
It's hard to make a decent double barrel and requires hand finishing to do well.
>>32499915
Regulation of the barrels is a time consuming task. And doubles are usually fancy.
>>32499915
When you have two barrels next to each other on the same gun they need to be regulated, that shit isn't entirely simple.
For an example, double-barreled rifles are VERY expensive, because regulating two rifle barrels so they both hit at the same spot is quite tricky.
What advantages do the 7.62 have? 7.62 yaws well, but 5.45 yaws better, doing about equal damage, 5.45 has better penetration, and about a third the recoil. I've seen 5.45 get pretty cheap. Superior accuracy, etc.
Are people still using 7.62 because they just happen to still have rifles chambered for it, is it because 7.62 is still easier to find, or is there an actual combat scenario where a 7.62 would be superior?
And do any of you prefer the 7.62? And why?
>>32499870
>actual combat scenario where a 7.62 would be superior?
Only time is for barrier destruction and subsonic.
>>32499870
Even 762 yaws very well if you shoot golden tiger.
I'm a bigger fan of 762 in every way within my 400y backyard range. None drop fast enough to matter much.
Lots more fun vs mud etc too.
545 is the sexiest cartridge in existence imo though.
>>32499870
>>32499880
>Only time is for barrier destruction and subsonic.
5.45 goes though barriers better. 9x39 was made for being subsonic. But if you only include perks and not actual performance, then you would not see that both bullets due to different ballistic coefficients of drag actually perform the same at a distance.
5.45 has better recoil management and that is about it.
Like clockwork, the always 7.62x39 "Muh barrier penetration" meme above all else of overall performance.
If you were gonna kill yourself, what gun would you use to do it?
shotgun
50 Beowulf
.38 detective snubnose revolver firing a wadcutter round placed directly behind the ear so the round laterally traverses the cerebellum ensuring death and allowing for an open casket burial.

Okay my fellow /K/ommandos My place of employment decided to give all of us A choice 2600 bonus. I've got the kids they're new PS4 the wife got a new Car and Now its my turn to treat my self! now i just got the bonus so I'm working with 2600 dollars i bought they're Christmas out of pocket so i get the sweet sweet 2600 for me ALL FOR ME!!! So I'm Breaking Into the SBR "Short Barreled rifle" I have no problem with a 200 dollar tax stamp but I don't know any thing about SBR AR's are a choice but i wonder what else are there? What do you know? Suggest?
An easy SBR option would be to get a Scorpion EVO or MP5 "pistol" and slap a stock on it when your happy stamp comes back.
Personally I'd go with getting a sweet AR-15 lower and SBR it. That way you could buy multiple uppers for it.
You're just now getting them PS4s ? thoses came out years ago
>>32498703
My bastard Hell cat busted our kids fish tank killed his 50 inch and both the xbox and the ps4 in November so i waited till Santa's fat ass could replace it.>>32498683
Im not a fan of MP5's I've fired them before they are nice but not what im looking for.
Anyone... got any... rope?
I got some... rope.
I had managed to forget about this. Why did you remind me?
How are gun laws in North Carolina? Any /k/ommandos live there?

They're ok. Only thing is permits for private sales.
The pistol purchase permit is a bunch of of horse shit.
We also have a bunch of transplants from New York who also want to ban everything.
