Soccer mom thread? Soccer mom thread.
>>32490925
Why don't you start the thread with your own story instead of this recycled bullshit that we've all read a thousand times?
Is it fixed? A folder? Straight or serrated? There are obviously varying opinions but is there at least a general consensus? Taking into account factors like the type of steel, blade retention, length, etc, can we resolve this once and for all?

Is the age of the bullpup dead? Before I knew jack shit about guns I used to think they were the future of small arms and the eurocucks were so much more advanced for adopting them, but now that France is dropping the FAMAS for the more traditional HK416 and the L85 was a piece of fucking shit, I can't help but wonder what was the point of these things in the first place?
>>32489469
l85 is no longer bad but I hear the brits are going to trade it in for the insas
They're certainly going out of vogue, but they'll always be around in some capacity for roles where barrel length is paramount. For example they're ideal for DMRs for mechanized infantry, though off the top of my head I think the Chinese are the only ones to have capitalized on this.
>>32489528
>>32489528
wait they are seriously going to adopt the Indian Army's rifle? wtf?
I don't want to ask what's wrong with it, I just want to hear your opinion on what else could've been improved? What should've been in the next generation fighter in your opinion instead of stealth?
>What should've been in the next generation fighter in your opinion instead of stealth?
>I don't want to ask what's wrong with it
I'll give you a hint: stealth, and frankly most of the actual technical features and capabilities of the plane itself, have nothing to do with any part of what's wrong with it.
>instead of stealth
This is like saying "instead of jet engines"
Everything after this is going to have stealth, and other things. Stealth is now a prerequisite to even play the game.

He beat him technique-wise and strength-wise.
Is the SOF community of the world overhyped? Are the SEALs, Spetsnaz, GROM, and SBS team members of the world really that elite or has a hint of mythos fallen into the conversation?

So how thick does steel have to be to stop a nuclear reaction from killing the crew of a ship?
Battlestars got hit by nukes plenty.
But they did have radiation pills. The nearest IRL radiation pill is a salt that clogs your thyroid to prevent the most common cancer IIRC
>>32487699
Space has radiation so the Galactica likely had shielding prebuilt into it.
>>32487699
Depends on the "radiation".
For example-
You are not stopping gamma particles without lead and lots of it.
(or heavy water, which can be used as a propellant)
>>32487699
I really doubt that Galactica was made of steel, seeing as how it dropped its ass into atmo and didn't turn to liquid.
I'd venture it's made of space-metal that doesn't undergo neutron-activation and is at least somewhat opaque to gamma rays, seeing as how only a few dozen crewmen were fatally dosed because they were close to the outer hull when the nuke went off.
Steel is at best mediocre when it comes to rad-shielding, you'd want layers of aluminum spaced with organic/boron salts and polyethylene and backed by heavy water or tungsten plates.
Of course, that's all heavy as shit.
What's wrong with it again?

>Can randomly blow hot gas back in the users face in spite of not being suppressed (how? Indian magic!)
>Held together by rivets like something out of the steam age

Thats the gist of it, anyway

To be fair, both Valmet's and Galil's do that.

What really happened in Waco, Texas between February 28 and April 19, 1993?
Is this event just another historical reminder that the government and it's military are not to be trusted and will use lethal force to keep you disarmed and at their mercy?
Do you agree with the claims of this documentary?

>Is this event just another historical reminder that the government and it's military are not to be trusted and will use lethal force to keep you disarmed and at their mercy?
Yeah. Basically it's you against the world and don't ever forget they're bigger than you.
>>32483716
They wanted to have a completely independent community on their own compound, which just happened to be armed, but the government didnt like that so they made up some bullshit about illegal weapons(they found inert grenades in mail going to the compound so they said they had full autos and assault weapons) and they when in and pretty much immediately started shooting when they saw someone, ever see that south park where the cops kill people to prevent them from killing themselves? Thats pretty much it, they didnt want these people being independent from the government cause that means no taxes for the government, amd they didnt want to risk a cult mass suicide cause that means less taxes for the government, so they went in heavily armed knowing there wpuld be a confrontation and killed everyone, im not saying koresh is innocent, he was a conman, the davidians though were completely innocent
Just wanted to know how the gun scene is there.
The LA gun scene is shit and Im hoping it'll be a lil better.

Pic related is a CAD rendering of some of the main action components. This apparent troll is getting pretty elaborate, wouldn't you say?
>Stock Update:
The stock has gone from a 30inch 4x4 to a rough cut blank. It will clean up very nice after dremel sanding & staining. Obviously it isn't finished; However it is certainly taking shape.
Handguard was cut with a hand chisel, I've never used one before, but it turned out alright & is extremely /comfy/; even in current condition. I was surprised.
>Bolt Update
It was a complete bitch to cut, I don't remember normal steel round being so tough, but it was; and I suppose that's a good thing.
Charging handle has been installed.
Main BCG travel path has been cut.
Will post some videos of it "feeding" past the breach to the open air (don't have a barrel to put on it) soon, the feed ramp is really quite impressive.
Questions and comments welcome, thanks for following the project.
I understand that /k/ is weary of these types of projects (on account of the Vintorez & Rhodie camo nightmares); but I'm glad to see there are people who still have a glimmer of faith out there. We will do it lads.
