Completely underrated topic and you will get asshurt replies about it, but I agree wholeheartedly. No one thinks about this because for every ten thousand autists who prep home defense only one has had a shooting level scare, let alone pulled the trigger on someone in their home.

I talked to one guy who shot a 40 cal off once, couldn't even see his target negro clearly, but scared the guy off. Said he regrets it to this day because it's all it took for him to downgrade to 50 percent in his left ear and light ringing goes on and off.

I think about suppression all the time and honestly, gimme the freaking hpa already, I don't want to shoot unsuppressed anymore, don't see the point except to avoid nfa hassles and costs.

Guns are fucking loud. Indoors, the effect multiplies. You can instantly damage your ears with mere 80db, and even puny handguns can go over 150db without breaking a sweat.

Subsonic ammo exists for just about all calibers though. It's the weird bans on suppressors in some corners of earth I don't understand.

The RCBS kits are good starters for you to try your hand at reloading. I would pick up a few manuals as well. However, If you decide to stick with it, you will probably replace a lot of the kit with better components.

You should also look into a tumbler for brass cleaning. You can get Zilla Desert Blend Lizard Litter from Petco for cheap tumbler media.

You can buy powder and primers online, but hazmat will make shipping horrendous. Online orders will have to be for bulk quantities to make the hazmat fees reasonable. Look to local gun stores for powder and primers if possible. Buy bullets from wherever is cheap.

Yes, RCBS is great and that's a nice a good setup. You may want to get a powder trickler; extruded powders "throw" fairly innacurately. If you can muster up the $, the Chargemaster 1500 is one of my favorite additions for reloading.

I've only got a Lee classic turret press which is great for the turret aspect, but their is a bit of slop in it. Not that it effects the load quality, just that it doesn't feel great.

Fuck no. It's a literal meme gun that is only popular because it was cheap for a long long time. Now that the price has risen there is no reason to own one over a mauser at similar cost.
