Hey, /k/ I was going through some guns and I happened across pic related. I'm not sure what it is. I thought it was just another SKS but when I tried to change the stock to a spare wooden one it didn't quite fit. And I think this other front sight is for grenades? I'm hoping someone might know. (No markings btw besides serial number)

Can someone visiting the US legally use/own a firearm?

I'm planning on doing a camping trip in the US and don't want to get attacked by a moose/bear/coyote/skinwalker/crackhead/etc and not be able to defend myself.

Yes he can you fucking idiot.

Unless you're in some communist state that actually requires a permit for a gun, you can own and carry a firearm in the US if you aren't a citizen. Our bill of rights applies to filthy foreigners too. Enjoy your stay and fuck off as soon as possible, thanks

Is there a reason for this that doesn't involve not wanting to put a million unemployables out of their jobs?

Well, you see, stealth does not mean invisible. Only invisible to the detection systems that are involved with larger objects.

It's coming man with adaptive camouflage just give it another few years. The concept has already been proven at this point it's about making it tough enough and cost effective enough. I suspect you'll see this at first in special forces units soon.

I've heard of people who have survived active shooter situations by playing dead, pretty clever.

Is it better to play dead or try and haul ass? I assume it matters the situation, what's your input?

>>
If they are close—play dead
if they are far and not looking in your vicinity—distance yourself

>but hey i dont know
>>
Some active shooters were known to double-tap bodies on the ground, so I wouldn't risk it. I think it's better to haul ass and be a moving target than to lie still and cross your fingers

I just picked up this bayonet at a barn sale, I've been trying to ID it but coming up short.
Pic related.

It is 4 bladed cruciform, 20" blade 23" over all.
The socket is virtually identical to that of an 1855 model US infantry bayonet but it lacks the marking and the blade type is wrong. Inside socket diameter is 11/16" or 18mm

The only legible marking on it is "v 851"

College kid with not much money looking to get a nice gun for CC/home defense/rec shooting. I dig older (but not OLD) revolvers, was looking at a Ruger Security-Six in .357, kinda hoping to find one with a 4 inch barrel.

Any general opinions on these guns?

>>
Very reliable revolver. The military used these for pilots up until the mid 90's when most switched to the M11. The M9 was to bulky for flight gear.
>>
No personal experience with that gun, but Ruger revolvers have a really good reputation.
>>
>>33728930

Can't go wrong with a Security Six. If possible, get one in stainless, unless you have a thing for bluing and patina.

The original AK-12 was pretty neat, the newest AK-12 is just a modified AK. It is not in service but they have a few for field trials along with the new AK-74M(same name but based off the AK-400).

Could the U.S. militarily annex all of North America?

If so how?

If anyone here faces the same problem I do its that I want to buy a gun but don't have the space to safely store them. Does anyone know of a place or service that stores your guns when you aren't using them? For me I am a college student and my dorm doesn't allow guns and my parents don't want It in their house. Any suggestions that wont involve me hiding them from my folks?

I like to pick up pic related and spray them with orange tree marking paint.

Costs less than $1 per target, and they're fun to blast.

Pretty much the same, except I use your bog standard bricks, there was thousand on my property when I bought it and I have no use for them, also spray paint is pretty satisfying if I'm doing 500m+ shots.

So I'm taking an economics class and we were going over a 'supply and demand' concept. Basically the way I understand it, the more people want something, the higher the price goes, until more of that thing is made and sold, and then the price falls. It's a strict law of nature that if less people want something the price will go down, and if more people want something the price goes up.

I'm thinking about it, and I'm thinking this could be applied to the ammo market. Everyone bitches that ammo is ridiculously expensive, right? It only costs pennies to make a round of ammo and the manufacturers and dealers take a huge profit margin. That's a huge amount of money just totally vanished and removed from the economy forever, and it's the reason why it's a better idea to always reload your own ammo.

What if everyone collectively decided to not buy new ammo for a few months? By the law of supply and demand the price of ammo will go down, and eventually it'll get to the point where ammo would be at the same price as reloading brass, and at that point everyone could just buy the ammo and sell the brass for the same price. This way, everyone saves some money and it's not removed from the economy. Any thoughts?

First, the major purchaser of ammunition is not the public, so you'd need to get the US military on board.

Second, if everyone stops buying ammo for a few months, will the actual amount of ammo purchased change? You still have to recoup all the shells you shot from your clip - buying them a month later than you usually would doesn't change anything.
>>
guns is just as good as butter
>>
>>33727764
I think you are a little confused. You need demand for a company to justify making a commodity in enough excess to sell cheaply. High demand in the long term brings price of ammo down. I dont think not buying ammo for a few days will do much. Instead, we should buy more of "snowflake" ammos like 10mm or 6.5 Grendel to sway ammo companies to make more widely available options.
