Not super familiar with all of the regulations in Arizona. Do I need a permit to exterminate cottontail rabbits on my land (10ac) with an air rifle(.177)?
>>34077318
not if no one finds out about it.

Have your balls dropped yet OP?
What did they mean by this?
>>34077145
It depicts "Uncle Sam" showing off the results of recent U.S. Navy heavy gun target practice, apparently conducted by USS Kearsarge (Battleship # 5), to the naval figures of England, Germany, France and Italy, as warships of Japan and Russia battle in the background.
>>34077145
The only thing that annoys me about this image is that the Englishman has no moustache.
>>34077145
france and italys moostaches seemed switched no?
What's the best equivalent of martial arts to learn for basic CQC? I want to be able to do what Big Boss does irl as I live in a noguns country.
Somewhat /k/ related.
Basef on how some of the characters in 3 talk, it sounds like a pseudo-judo martial art. Mostly throw focused with some notes on how to disarm an enemy. I've heard that with 5 specifically there were some additional influences from south eastern martial arts as well. I think Silat, but cannot remember.

I'm thinking of getting a nickel boron bolt carrier group, is there wisdom in this?
>>34076959
I can't speak for the longevity of it, but I dropped built my 450 Bushmaster with one, and love it. It's amazingly slippery, like trying to grab plastic with oily hands.
I say go for it.
>>34078512
Sorry, just meant to say "built". I was going to say "dropped one in", but that implies I had a uncoated one before, which is untrue. If my M4 clone gives me any trouble, I'll definitely be upgrading to NiB as well.
I still can't figure out why the coating matters. The closest to a reasonable answer is that it's easier to clean because shit wipes right off, but there are lubes that do that. I am convinced it's a gimmick. Both bcgs go back and forth, WTF does it matter if it's "more slippery" . If you alternate brass and steel and don't clean between shooting, it will jam both guns equally, because it binds in the chamber. If anyone knows what real purpose there is, please tell me. Like I said, I own one Standard and a TiN one, but why tho.
Can I own a gun if I have autism? Legit question here.
No

You can't thread your own post. But this anyway
>The most common reason for a gun purchase denial is a criminal conviction. More than 175,000 fugitives, 130,000 domestic offenders, and 123,000 unlawful drug users have been denied in the 18 years NICS has been online. For all the focus on mental health, the bar for denying someone on psychiatric grounds is very high, leading to relatively few rejections: 27,992 applicants have been denied because they were declared mentally unfit by a judge.
Is there a trick to attaching Keymod accessories securely without the having steel T-nuts chewing up the aluminum?
>>34076790
Its called using MLok
Apologies for my grammar. It's not usually that bad.
>>34076799
came to post this.
So me and a couple of buddies are planning to go camping somewhere remote enough where we won't be bothered and we can just drink a bit and shoot some guns for a few days.
Living in Chicago however does not really suit that, so it seems we'd have to go out of state for that.
Would Manistee National Forest work out well for this? From what I can tell, OC is allowed, no permits are needed to camp, and it seems quite remote.
Thoughts?
>>34076604
Michigander here, yeah it's absolutely beautiful and there are plenty of remote spots to camp.
Do your research and make sure you're not on private property.
I have OCed there before and it's perfectly fine
>>34076803
Sounds pretty great, any certain spots to go to?
Also, if I have a FOID from Illinois, do I need that to OC in Michigan?
>>34076803
No offense, but you've gotta brush up on your plant-identification skills. That's poison ivy your stock is brushing up against.
If there are any engineers on /k/ question:
How much can a light gas gun be scaled down
just make the parts smaller dumbo

>>34076488
do either of you know what a light gas gun is?
Let's talk about those guns that are lightweight with minimal recoil, but are good enough for grandma to repel bad guys with.
This thread is about all those .38 snubbies for your mom, the .22 that grandad keeps in his cowboy holster ever since the arthritis set it, and the .380 full-size that uncle Bob carries because his carpal tunnel means he can't handle a full 9mm load.
Post your suggestions for similar handguns and rifles that are light enough for a weak/arthritic person to hold, but don't have too much recoil for said individual to use properly, or tell stories about your 85-year old granny who still shoots .45LC in one hand with a cold beer in the other hand.
.38 snubs suck to shoot. They're too small and light to absorb the recoil like someone who isn't good at guns would want.
>>34075964
how good would that gun be for cc?
>>34075964
My 78 year old grandpa who I've been shooting with for years now has arthritis, and he still carries and shoots a Glock 19 pretty decently. So yah Glock 19 I guess, the standard recommendation
Hey K which would you EDC?
>>34075929
None. Maybe the boker. But I would rather not carry bullshit.
>>34075929
Boker
>>34075929
None.
Hi /k/, I have a question for anyone that knows some Japanese military history. Was the Kusarigama ever a real weapon? They're obviously very showy and require intense mastery to use even halfway effectively, which to me seems like it would make for an awful weapon on a real battlefield.
They seem to me like flails. A cool-looking idea that an artist had that was later made "real," as ceremonial or decorative pieces rather than actual weapons.
On the topic of bizarre weapons in general, though, were there any widely used, effectively wielded melee instruments outside of the classic sword/pike/axe that dominated pretty much every european battlefield until they invented guns?
>>34075454
The only thing I know is that the master Samurai Miyamoto Musashi almost lost a dual against the Kusarigama
It's a good thing samurai carry 2 swords
>>34075493
That is helpful, thank you. It doesn't really answer my question, but it does add to the idea that the weapon mostly appeared in fiction.
>>34075513
Miyamoto musashi was a real person
New acquisition thread.
I just got this P89 from j&g.
It's not pretty but I wanted a project. My friend cerecotes so it's going forcthat as soon as it's cleaned and broken down.
