Found this artwork in Amsterdam, it's beautiful! Does anyone know anything about it? Or at least who the man in the picture is? Thanks in advance
Looks like a woman to me, son.

how do I improve? I've only done like, representational drawings so far, this is my first shot at graphics
I wanna draw realistically. Problem is I can only draw anime. Halp
and shitty anime, i presume?
>>3092357
Draw realistic anime, problem solved.
>>3092357
Post your anime
How do digital artists always make such smooth lines when they draw? I always get "chicken scratches" when I do drawings on a tablet. Do they use photoshop to smooth everything?
Also, how do they get these amazing vibrant colours? My drawings always look like they were colored in mspaint.
>>3088060
Some programs have a helper where the line slowly creeps in direction of your cursor.
Or you could git gud and learn how to draw continuous lines.
oh I found a sketch where it shows that even awesome artists can make "chicken scratches", though it still looks amazing
>>3088072
That's not chicken scratching tho, that's a finished sketch ready for inking

sketch from imagination.I'll eventually get reference and start cleaning it up.
Not really looking for a critic anatomy wise, but more on the feel/narrative/composition of the the thing
Study with some imagined elements
I'm not sure about Geralt size... Which one looks better?
Where does the artstyle of the Vault Boy originate from so that I can start copying it? I fucking love it.
>>3093258
it originates from this guy, the artist: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Leonard_Boyarsky on the link is further links to his personal sites.
I dont know but I'm interested as well so here is a bump
>>3093258
There's a bit of tin tin influence there.
You don't need to master perspectives to make a beautiful drawing.
>>3092948
You don't need to master it, no, but it certainly helps especially if you want to have any depth in your image or do naturalistic work.
>>3092960
I still think Nielsen's painting is a lot prettier than that crap. Yeah, it certainly does help at certain times, but motives of shapes and colors are what really uplifts visual art.
>>3092963
Guess there is no cure for shit taste. Let's hope you're just trying to be contrarian and edgy and don't actually believe this.
animator here and I'm realizing my posing is shit and I feel like having a posing figure to reference would help me out
posing figure recommendations?
bandai's pic related looks kinda cool
>>3092808
People sure are keen on crutches, huh?
>>3092828
post some of your art. I assume not only is it amazing, but you also didn't have to use any references.
so there is this chick i know online who has been losing her touch. i used to put her on a high pedestal until i realized she's pretty boring character and art wise and that she was saying doesn't help artist and holds them back sometimes.
what do you think of her art?
you guys are the most critical people ever?
Is her art in character design good or bad? Or what are the pro and cons?
>>3091964
It's shit.
>>3091964
You're either lying and this is your art, or you're being a vendetta-chan. Either way, stop it.
If you want critique for your work, please head over to alt or beg threads.
>>3091974
I'm really just her to ask your opinion on .her art. especially since she's been in art school for awhile and i don't think it's improving.
After All you guys are pretty critical.
i'm working on some character design, what vibe does this one gives you? like in terms of personality, values, etc.
i know my anatomy ain't the best, i'm already working on that
boy scout vibes

thanks bro :)

This but also the little cute thing on his hand seems out of place, it makes me think he has a very childish mind.
>musicians remix other musicians songs
>Its cool, everyone is happy
>artists copy other artist in their style
>autistic rage muh art thief
Why is the artist community so selfish and salty
>>3090734
Music is bottom tier entertainment, nobody cares.
>>3090734
>musicians remix other musicians songs

why are you trying to destroy /ic/?
I'm kinda triggered the lighting follows the muscle contour on the highest arm in this picture once it switches to latex.
It seems like the lighting is just conveniently above them.
Who cares. It's just modeling tone. The point is to describe form.

Poju 4 life make those butt cheeks shiny
Do any of you like art any more abstracted than realist impressionism? I'm telling you, not everything from the 20th-21st century is blank canvases or pain splatters. You know there is an area between Rembrandt and Malevich. I actually question whether most people on this board even care about the fine art they prop up against modern/contemporary art
I like graphic design, it counts as abstract right? Of course, unlike contemporary art, it serves a purpose so it isn't real art.
>>3089910
i don't have anything against graphic design. It basically adds to the aesthetic of whatever it's attached to. That thing could still exist without graphics. So is it really that much more logical and utilitarian than fine art?
>>3089921
Graphic design is about communciating something, not just making things appealing, though that is part of it too.
Think of corporate logos, they aren't just for looks, they are designed to be recognisable from any distance but also to say something about the company.
Or user interface elements designed for legibility of purpose, etc.
In much of graphic design, looks are strictly secondary to function.
How do you actually go about promoting your artwork to get a decent following. I have been trying to get some exposure for a few months now but nothing is really happening.
I tried Instagram, Facebook, Reddit etc. I researched what hashtags to use, when to post and so on, to no avail.
My posts never pick up enough steam, before they get lost in the depths of the internet.
Though my art isn't perfect and I am still what I would consider Advanced beginner-tier, I see a lot of artists that I think are much worde with like 50k followers while I can't even get into the 3-digit zone.
Any of you, have a decent following and got some tips?
Pic related is a portrait study I did recently.
>>3088746
theres no recipe to get followers
>>3088799
not looking for a recipe, just for helpful advice. obviously there must be ways to do this that are more effective like others, like in all things
>>3088746
The secret is that you have to draw/paint popular people/characters to gain initial attention. Then once you have them hooked, you show them your actual work.
tl;dr: please give me tips to make my proccess faster so I can get some money
>experienced artist
>majored in fine arts
>starts sending out portfolios
>couple of people call back
>get a couple of freelance jobs
>bosses have deadlines
>really short deadlines
>really really short
>like 1 week for an illustration INCLUDING edits
>brazil is going through an economic chrisis and no one is hiring so I take the jobs anyway
>I'm very slow
>too slow
>and I mean it like really really slow
>a complete illustration (one character, simple background, 1 or 2 lightsources, nice redering, one alternative version with different details) taking me 2 weeks at least
>after 3 days I tell the boss I'll not be able to do it
>recommend a friend of mine who is incredibly fast
>he then recycles an old sketch, get the job and share the payment with me (70/30)
>no jobs for me
>no moneys for me
>living with my mom
>will become an art teacher in a private school
help me anons
>>3093537
I do like drawing, anon, I'm just really slow no matter how I try. When I try to go faster I just make my work clumsy
About making money, I'm also working with digital design and I'm starting a webdesign course (babysteps but still). The art teaching job will help too, so at least I'll not starve.
