Is there a source where I can learn line hatching?

its all about conveying the form by moving over it.

Guptill's book Rendering in Pen and Ink. Otherwise just copying masters and trying to understand why and how they did it.
whats the best kind of seating for drawing?

Armchair. I'm not sure why so many people use office chairs when they don't even need to move around in them.

you're low level intermediate
>be 22
>still beginner
I know from various podcasts that its pretty much impossible to make it now but are there any people that somehow made it? It obviously a 1 in 1000 case but still, seeing someone succeed so late is nice to see.
>>3096895
>being this retarded
You might not have a chance of being a master anymore but you still have a very good shot at being good enough for others to envy you shitstain of a human being.
If you start at 22, you'll have EIGHT (8) years of experience when you're 30. 8 years ago, you were 14. Think about how long ago that was. Imagine you spent all that time drawing instead of lamenting over being in your prime, you could actually be good.

I want to be an illustrator and work for money but the point that was also brought up is that its a very competitive field and being 22 AND a beginner means I am behind a lot of people.
Hi /ic/, i drew this eye, and thought it was pretty good, but I would like to have a second opinion from you guys.
Thanks :)
You re gonna have a bad time

You're gonna get bullied anon, run to another board while there's still time
Draw the other eye now
My third attempt at painting an abstract. The first two were blues, so I went in a different direction. Please rip me to shreds. Acrylic on canvas, roughly 12x15".
>>3096753
am i doing /ic/ right?
>>3096753
If you want to paint straights use tape.
None of this i wanted to keep the loose look of the lines or theyre not meant to be perfect shit. No one will respect you as an artist if your hard edge shit doesn't have hard edges. It looks sloppy and is distracting.
Also its not very interesting.
If you want to sell it to idiots who dont know shit about art maybe you could hack it with someones lonely aunt but if youre gonna make abstractions you have to have some sort of sentient thought behind them. Some reason for placing things where they are. Not just i thought it looked good.
Look at some hard edge artists and literally copy them. Then tell people how much they influenced you and shit.
Also dont use canvas for this kind of work. Use masonite or wood panels.

Lygia Clark
Carmen Harera
Frank Stella
Read their artist bios, their abstracts, the manifestos for the groups they hung out with. Only through education will you make yourself a half decent artist. Go to a museum where works like this are displayed. Frank Stella is huge and if you live near a major city I'm sure you can find at least one piece by him. Dont be afraid to steal (thats how stella made his career and now hes considered some sort of mythological figure in the abstract art world. That could be you)
When is the best time to post art on fur affinity? When are most thirsty weirdos online?

Does anyone else feel like learning how to draw is really complicated? Like if I want to learn a language or programming it's really straightforward but with drawing it's such a mess to know what to do exactly to get better. Maybe it's because you need so much muscle memory.
>>3097850
it's more intuitive and involves a flow state, more like playing an instrument or singing a song. I kind of dislike people that don't have an interest in art other than getting better, because you get so many questions like "I'm doing x y and z, why am I not making anime yet??" like you said there is no exact way to get better. you'll improve naturally if the desire to make art is within you.
>>3097858
It's really frustrating for people who are used to learning skills that are based on pure logic and memorization. I have never played an instrument but even that looks like it has more of a structure than learning art. But I guess you are right about the attitude to take a step back and to just enjoy art for what it is and not what you want it to be.
Drawing is like playing god, you can create anything. So obviously, being able to draw anything easily is a gigantic task, but do you really need it? No, not really. Don't be in a hurry, try to have fun and learn what is really necessary for what you want to do.
Kim might extremely autistic in a good way but even he didn't learn everything in a year. And even then, you don't need to be as good as him when it comes to drawing from imagination. It's just a nice bonus which shows your work behind. But otherwise, just use whatever tool and reference you want, as long as it doesn't become plagiarism.
It's been a while since I stopped drawing, depression got over me and pretty much stopped doing anything. But today I randomly started it, and this is the result.
Rotring/ 2B pencil.
Ah, fuck my life.
Here is the correct one.
Well if you're just getting back into it my advice would be don't ask for critiques. Just find a daily rhythm and enjoyment for drawing.
If you're really after advice. I find committing to my blacks in a picture helps me tone a drawing better (and adds better depth). So things like under cheekbones, inside nasal passage can all go dark and that helps the white contrast of the bone stand out.

is this good?
What's the point of this thread? Fuck off.
>>3096568
The point is in the subject, why are you so hostile?

Get out you underaged piece of shit. Your grasp on anatomy is almost as bad as your fucking ";-;" face.

Wow that's really expressive OP. I kind of wonder if this guy is like an antifa dissenter railing against the opressive Trump regime. This character inspires me.

Looking for a decent cheap light table, any recommendations?
I recommend Zebra brush pens. Very fun to draw with
>>3071780
Not a light table, but I got a flat light panel on Amazon for like $50-55. There are tons of them and tons of "brands," but they're all basically the same fucking thing and the same price. I got an A3, but you could get an A4 for ~$30 if you didn't want a large one. Light is bright enough that I can transfer pencil sketches onto watercolor paper.
Just searched and prices have dropped, so just search A3 or A4 light box and you'll see them.
I studied all of Nsio's perspective basics shit.
What the fuck, You have little to no understanding of anatomy. How do you study?
>>3097143
based on that picture you legit have the autismo. Sorry fella
>>3097147
I agree but his problem is clearly more with perspective here anyway
