Boys I just got a solo exhibition at a local gallery. Kind of shitting bricks.
It's 25 pieces out of my body of work, collage/oil on canvas. I still need to mount everything to hardboard and frame it. But I'm just tripping, first time I responded to a call for submissions and my metamodern mapping shitshow actually blew them away.
Anyone else exhibited, any snags I should know about. How the fuck do I price works? Halp
Post more of your work OP and congrats!
>>2679958
I always assumed the gallery would help you decide how the works are priced since they will take like a 50% cut usually.
I would be prepared to talk about your work and what it means, why you did it, what you are trying to say etc because on opening night you will probably have a lot of people come up to you.
>>2679974
I view these works as maps of my surroundings/culture. David Suzuki is just another random dude unless taken in a Canadian context. I don't limit myself to simple collage either, I attempt to deal with the fact that we are post-internet by adding screenshots of my screen-context to this mix of papers. At once cohesive based on location, yet not tied down to any physical space.
I'm a bit of a sperg, my writing style reflects this. Reception night is going to be a bit out of my comfort zone but nothing a few glasses of wine won't fix (hopefully)
I'all dump some here, there's a few more on my site https://theblackbox.ca
Anyone here going to New York Comic Con with a portfolio?

>>2679755
Isn't KJG doing a lecture there? That alone makes it worth going.
Anyone here experience flow while drawing? What is it like?
I experience flow in my dick when I fuck your mom, if you get what I'm implying here

That is not very nice.

ok maybe I need to explain myself a bit. I made the picture in about 5 minutes with deepstyle.
I thought it generated some neat thumbnails and wanted to hear what people think of this tech.

schemes or easy ways to learn the muscles of the body in drawing ?
Also anatomy thread.
>>2678034
I learned to draw the muscles from a guy named Riven Pheonix in LA. He has a set of lectures floating around on the muscles, you might be able to find a torrent. He's a great teacher and I recommend him as a good starting point.
>>2678034
Just buy a real fucking anatomy book instead of using shittyass tutorials images.
it's late, and i can't find anything i want to draw. dump art so i can find something to draw tonight, thank.
>>2678833
good artwork thread????
>>2678842
pretty much, drop in all the good art.
Just go to a study/reference thread and pick something to draw there.
GOD
I just started out making digital art. Hoping to get better and make art for video games.
Here's a variation after a friend mentioned wanting to eat flan.
>>2678773
Oh, thanks anon.
places where to get 'em would be awesome as well!
Those Chinese Villages, Mayan Temples, the Wild West type of places, London and Cathedrals.
you could check out google earth. the perspective is kinda warped in it though, but you could fix it and make it look better. loads of scenery.
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.
Old Thread: >>2672409
I can only find a handful of places, but I'm certain there are more out there.
Either marble or bronze, preferably.
>>2679565
You'd need to probably contact a specific artist you like. There might be some galleries that specialize in representing sculptors that you can contact, but I don't know of any offhand.
If you want a commissioned marble sculpture or bronze cast keep in mind it will easily cost numerous thousands of dollars. Just getting a bronze cast made of an existing sculpture costs several thousand, never mind getting someone skilled to make the initial sculpture. Marble is extremely expensive just to buy a block of stone, then it is very labour intensive to sculpt and not many people have the skills to do it so they will charge a lot.

FAQ:
Something's broken, what do I do?
>The site is currently in the alpha phase of development and is being built around us as we compete so sometimes things go wrong. If you ever need any help send me a tweet @LavaFlake or shoot me an email [email protected].
What do we draw?
>Whatever you want. At this point there's no required topic so draw your heart out. Make sure you submit at least a half hour of work or you may get a low effort warning.
What's a low effort warning?
>The goal is to get people to draw every day by turning it into a competition. The low effort warning system is to prevent people from posting last minute, quick sketches when they're feeling lazy. If you receive a warning and it happens again within a month you'll be eliminated.
>This rule has been the cause of a lot of concern amongst newer artists so let me reiterate: this system is to police low effort content and has nothing to do with the quality of the work. New artists are more than welcome.
What happens if I'm eliminated?
>A new Last Artist Standing challenge starts every week. If you get eliminated then get it together and rejoin next week.
How can there be a new Last Artist Standing challenge every week?
>This is a way to let new artists join in and to allow re-entry for the eliminated. Every week a new challenge is started. If you joined on week 1 and make it to week 2 then your daily submission counts for both the first and second Last Artist Standing. If you get eliminated then you're eliminated from both challenges and you'll be able to rejoin next week.
Will I have an advantage if I join later in the week?
>The winner of a Last Artist Standing will be the artist with the longest streak. If you join on day 1 and last until day 85 then you'll have a streak of 85. If there's only one person left in the challenge when you're eliminated but they joined on Day 7 then they'll need to continue on for another week. If they're eliminated before then, you win.

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun!

Nothing too terrible, nothing too terrific.
Anatomy is off, and face looks like those badly made plastic surgery, not appealing.
>>2678936
Well OP, I'm not a massive art Mage, but I feel that you could still use some work. The face is rather big for the head, but also the heard is too big for the body. Your anatomy really does need work (pencil neck, really thin arms, rib cage and waist don't look right) and it feels like rather than you making a portrait, you lazily chose that close up shot because you don't want to work on the arms, legs, feet, hands and so on. I do believe, in my amature opinion, that you do have a decent grasp of color and values, but I do not think it is nearly enough to to save this picture. Any continued work on it will only make it a polished turd and I suggest you simply start over and try again.
>>2678936
if you actually knew how the body worked realistically it wouldn't look wonky in your "style"
