I'm planning to get a new tablet monitor and an animating software without spending too much money on it. Like $2000 or something like that. Should I get the Wacom Cintiq or see if some other company has a better deal for something like it. Also that picture was a really quick drawing I made, feel free to judge it.
>>2674752
Get the cintiq, this isn't even a fucking question.
>>2674752
pirate the animation software and pocket the money you dumb fucker
How do dumb people get so much money? Who is responsible for this?
Somebody Gave this to me for free. Can you please help me identify it

Are you that stupid to just not reverse image search. Literally took me 5 seconds. Likely just a copy though.

wait you have a boucher ???? is it the original one ?

It literally has a watermark half cropped out on the bottom
I've been drawing since middle school and started doing commissions online over the last year or so. I get a couple commissions a month or so, nothing major at all. But I have a question, how do I get repeat clients? Where and how can I find clients who are willing to commission me over and over? It would really help out having somewhat of a study side income. Is it okay to ask my old or current clients if they want more when "this piece" is done?
>>2672650
keep in contact with the people you draw for while in the process of doing it. Stream for them. doing good work and being out there should help.
>>2672650
>tfw have 1500 followers on tumblr
>This might be good enough for commissions!
>not a single one has asked me
Feels horrible

From what I hear here, you have to get your face on as many communities as possiple, with multiple personas as necessary (each with a portifolio) so not to stain your own image in the eyes of different audiences you wish to pander for.

Don't be that guy,
Before someone tells me to "read the sticky", the problem I've been having in term of learning is how to manage in terms of both hours and study method towards both Bridgman and Loomis books.
Do you guys read chapter-by-chapter like every book, have like a case of exercise repetition, read in any order that suits you; I know that this might sound dumb on my behalf, especially with the subject, but I'm just asking for help.
>pic unrelated

3 hours minimum. I just have my notebook in front of me or paint open until I want to draw again, while listening to podcasts or something
Lately I'll read through a book, taking notes on key pieces of advice as I go. Once I think I've taken notes on enough useful advice I try to apply it using my notes, and if the notes are insufficient I reread the chapter. Eventually, ideally, you internalize it and don't need the notes anymore either.
Even reference books I'd say it's worth reading them front to back at least once so you know where everything is, but I keep a copy of Bridgman's guide to drawing from life nearby to reference random bits of anatomy as needed, too, and you can do this for any book you're familiar with that you know addresses your problem.
Putting it into your own notes is still more helpful than just keeping the book nearby though, it makes you get to the meat of what the person is trying to teach you rather than just skimming it and realizing you didn't internalize anything. I've been trying to take a lot more notes lately, and once the notes get unwieldy I plan to condense them into more concise notes and hopefully improve my understanding that way.
Like for example I'm reading framed ink right now so I just take down tidbits of his advice as I go. Just make sure you don't stop there and actually try to apply the knowledge, sometimes stuff sounds super simple and intuitive in theory and it's a bitch to do in practice.

Also not that anybody in their right mind should be using my notes to actually learn anything but just to be clear I mistakenly wrote "right to left" instead of "left to right"
Let's see some dank frog drawings, /ic/. Maybe if it's good enough, you'll start seeing your artwork posted around the site.

So tl;dr my school has a wall we're allowed to paint whenever we want and right now it's full of really shitty stupid graffiti instead of some art and I want to try to change that.
So what would be the best method of adding something to the wall that will stay until someone paints over it?
The only thing i can think of is stencils and spray paint but i'd rather just apply directly to the wall and go nuts.
But i don't really know anything about outdoor paint.
Here's a world's wealth of knowledge
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+paint+to+use+for+outdoor+murals
You can use acrylic paint as long as it's a reasonably smooth surface. If it's very rough fluid acrylics may work, but stencils and spray paint or acrylic markers are probably the cheapest and easiest choice.
I'm a professional artist, and I work digitally. I have a Cintiq 24HD, but I want to be more mobile. Should I get a Cintiq Companion 2 or get a good laptop plus a 13-inch Cintiq? I need to be able to use Manga Studio and Photoshop.
They are practically the same, senpai. I would get the laptop and the cintiq since you said you need Manga Studio and Photoshop though. Might as well get more options for the same thing.

I wouldn't use a 13HD for mobility even with its size. The connector is quite flimsy and it would be bad if you're not careful. As well you would need to plug in HDMI, USB, and the power connector.
I've been an artist for many years off and on as well as holding a professional career.
I am an old school painter and sculptor.
I've posted this image in a couple of threads relating to art, but never in /ic/
I have been out of the game for awhile and would love some genuine feedback.

I'm very inspired to do military/apocalypse/steampunk designs but I feel like I don't have any knowledge about the subjects and can't do anything from imagination
What studies should I do to be able to draw that ?
Look at lots of military stuff and lots of pictures of skeletons/animal skeletons.

Which cartoonist draws the best female legs in your opinion? I'd say Shirow Miwa, he can draw slender legs but still has subtle curves without them seeming thick.
>>2670759
Fumita Yanagida
>>2670820
Not a cartoonist really, but I've always enjoyed Ashley Wood's legs. He can make them so exaggerated or stretched and manipulate them in any way he wants but at the end of the day they always manage to stay very appealing.
So I have an artist alley table at NYCC this year. I'm super nervous because this is the first time I've ever done any kind of artist alley so I'm hoping I'm not underprepared. I'm also nervous because I know a lot of famous artists/industry professionals will be there. I got the full table because I figured it's good to have bigger space and I can have someone sit with me.
The only problem is, the person that was supposed to sit with me can only attend Sat and Sun. I may be able to get my sister to come with me on Thurs and Friday, but if not my mom keeps asking if she could sit with me.
I feel its super embarrassing, unprofessional and cringeworthy to have my own mom sit at the table with me. This is a place where I'm trying to get my name out there and network and I don't want to be known as the artist who had their mother sit with them. Maybe I'm wrong but it just feels weird.
On top of that, how do you sell someone, like your mom, that you don't want them there because it looks childish and unprofessional?
Would you have your mom or grandma sit with you at your table? Am I being silly?
I just feel weird if I shake hands with a big industry professional and having to introduce "oh this is my mom".
My mom also has a tendency to gush about my work which just makes things feel more awkward.
>>>/cgl/9172152
Artist Alley thread's probably more useful for this.
But I've seen a few people having family as table assistance, so that shouldn't be 'weird'. But maybe have a sitdown with your mom and talk about how important this could be? If someone stops by and starts talking or networking with you, she might be too busy dealing with transactions or questions to interrupt or something.
>>2674715
wow your in a tough situation, I would probably feel the same way if I was in your situation, unfortunately I don't have much advice for you, just don't stress (and post your work pls I wanna c)
>>2674715
Know what looks childish and unprofessional? Being embarrassed of your mother when you're an adult.
Grow the fuck up, invite your mom to come and have fun.
Have you ever used your drawing skills to impress women, /ic/?
How did it go for you?
>>2669585
you're mom was impressed when I felt her forms
yeah my sister
we got unofficially married after
Draw to impress yourself.
Women may be impressed along the way, well and good. Those who can't comprehend why you want to draw in the first place are not worth bothering with.
post, request, discuss
Hey /ic, I have been working on a unique channel banner for my YouTube channel but I haven't been able to think of anything to put on the left side. I would like to see if anyone could give me suggestions, It would make my night if I can finally get this done.
>>2674569
put a pic of your mom there
don't, it looks good as it and it wont matter because the profile pic will block the left side. also get rid of the red thing it looks dumb
