WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT
WHY THE FUCK DOES PHOTOSHOP DO THIS
WHY CAN'T I CHOOSE WHATEVER FUCKING SHORTCUT I WANT
Is there any way to fix this? Every other software I tried has no restrictions when it comes to shortcuts.

>Nope. There's no fix for this because it's not broken. It's by design. There is a lot of customization you can do with regard to shortcuts but many are hard coded and haven't changed much since the very early versions of Photoshop.

>You could call it a weakness, but in most cases the shortcuts that are hard coded and can't be bound to different functions are the ones that are somewhat universal across Adobe products as well as other graphics/video editing platforms - so my advice would actually be to learn how to use the tool as is before you start to tinker.
>I get where you're coming from but if graphic design or retouching is something you'd ever consider doing as a profession, you'll benefit a great deal from working on the same platform as other professionals if for no other reason than to be speaking the same language.
>Plus, sometimes you'll have to work on someone else's computer (or a company owned machine) where overt customizations and plugins like that won't be an option and then you'll be super screwed because you'll spend so much time having to re-learn how the application is designed to run that you'll be dead in the water.

>Correct. Professionals in design are expected to come into a new environment and start using Adobe products without some mundane challenge of overcoming learning new shortcuts. You can use photoshop on any computer and accomplish what you need without learning new software.

>There's no fix for this because it's not broken. It's by design.

Download Autohotkey. Worth the effort to spend a day adjusting things.

Best example would be moving up and down the layer stack being unchangable and set to alt + [ ]. Remapping that to Shift + w s has been so convenient.

I'm trying to find the name of an artist. I know the following:
-they are alive
-they are European
-their name is sort of foreign sounding
-they are an illustrator
-they have been around a little while, like they are not in their 20's
-it's a dude
-they painted a lot of work related to Greek mythology
-their work is somewhat stylized, but not as much as pic related
-they work in acrylics I think

Alice and Martin Provensen. The pic is from The Golden Treasury of Myths and Legends.

Maybe I didn't make it clear enough, it's not Alice and Martin Provensen I'm looking for, I just used their pic as an example of Greek mythology based stylized artwork. I even had their name in the filename. The artist I'm looking for is someone else and is less stylized, though not completely realistic either.

I'm looking for an American cartoonist. He had a piece where some naked muslim women asked a gynecologist if she had to remove everything holding to her scarf.

I drank with them all accidental of course.

providing each other momentum.
It bothered me "why is so little happening now?"
It is a good thing
little happens.
But, after a small sketch of pretty ladies about their drink I realised my fault

I need some advice. I just started attending an design program and I want to make a tumblr to start sharing my work. I intend to post my latest art as well as studies and stuff.
Well I also like drawing gay furry shit but I just don't know if I should post it on my account or make a separate alias specifically for it so nobody will make the connection. I'm just thinking about if one of my professors or a potential client finds it or something like that. How do people decide whether to separate the NSFW stuff from their main acc. or just keep it under one alias?

>>
pretty sure you should keep them separate.
>>
A) Think it as a portfolio. Put the kind of stuff you'd want in your portfolio when you go to try and get the job you want.

B) Think of it as a public sketchbook. Put the stuff you'd want to bring to your professor for critique.
>>
You already know the answer to this. Ask yourself: Will this part of my work make people turn away from the rest of my work?

Those look a lot better than those doggu paintings of his I saw. Shame his drawing skills are so bad and holding them back though. The bottom right one in that image is the only one with decent drawing and it actually looks pretty good.

Does anyone else know that feeling of wanting to work on art but not even knowing what to draw? I feel like i seriously lack inspiration / a sort of visual mental library (or whatever you could call it)
Does anyone have any tips on how to get yourself inspired? i really hate not being productive, i just feel like its hard for me to find a motive or task to really get into.. it probably sounds kinda pathetic, eh.. i just always end up drawing boring portraits or pictures of people standing around and i kinda wanna change that. any tips are appreciated of course

Fan art? You don't have to post in online. TV shows, video games, anime, anything.
>>
>>2682427
It has been mine problem for years. I constantly try to get into art and then dropping maybe a few weeks in. I know I want to draw, but when I actually do that I feel empty of reason and plan. I'm also having trouble with doing anything bigger than tiny sketches.
If I think of something I want to commit to, like doing an illustration for text I find that I severely lack in skills for this or that and cycle repeats.
I started and dropped many times during years and still a complete beginner. This is upsetting.

Where can i find a good place to give a good explanation on how to buy copic markers? Pic Unrelated.

Also how to use them.

Before someone asks what I mean on how to buy I mean as in how they tell you not to buy all the paint tubes for painting you only need the primaries and a couple of secondaries.
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>2681617
It depends what you want. Simplest thing though is to only buy a few markers at first, and if you need more then you buy more. Most ID guys will have full sets of all the grey percentages for warm and cool, but you probably don't need that. Maybe grab something light like a 20% grey, and then a 50% grey and a black or something. See what you can do with that, and figure out whether you need some more light value ones, or some darker ones. See if you prefer warm or cool markers.
>>
>>2681624
I want to make the drawings colorful so i want both warm and cool. What should i get there?
>>
>>2681625
Oh, sorry I only ever used warm/cool greys. I never used any coloured copics before so I don't really know.

Hi guys,
I'm starting work on an online gesture/reference drawing web app. What will set it apart from existing tools (it's mainly only this nowadays: http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/ ?) is the ability to easily input your own pictures, an intuitive UI, and eventually some advanced programs that'll help you focus on some specific aspects of observation skills (abstracting away volume, focusing on light, focusing on the silhouette, etc). Then in the far future maybe even automated comparison with the reference pic for instant feedback (I think that could be crucial for beginners or artists who don't draw from reference much).

I have all the tech stack down now I just need a name. Years of programming have made me incredibly uncreative and unimaginative when it comes to this stuff. Now all my personal projects have the dumbest descriptive names like "renaming tool" or "backup tool".
Pls help me, artists.
