Nothing can outweigh german autism.
Ayn Rand.
What does /his/ think of civilization?
Agriculture is not sustainable in the long term, due to factors like soil erosion, crop-killing diseases and global warming eventually ruining agriculture because it is so weather dependent.
Civilization breeds diseases by having loads of animals in close proximity (especially with animals), dirty cities and shit like that. We're feeding drugs to animals causing resistance by pathogens.
Centralised damage to nature is much, much worse than decentralised damage to nature.
We're using fossil fuels because they're more cheap to use - oh that's more about capitalism on the state so don't worry 'bout that for now.
Pic not related but boudicca's cool.

Hello /his/
I am not a frequent poster of this board, but I am intrigued by history.
I am here to ask how much of the "history" of WWII and Nazi Germany was fudged to help promote an ideology. Sorry if this question is dumb, but I really don't know where I can find any non-biased sources. I only have a highschool level of history and years of stuff I've seen randomly on the internet(not places like this.) Both of which do not seem reliable.
It's all 100% true.

>how much of the "history" of WWII and Nazi Germany was fudged to help promote an ideology
I assume you mean vilified in a "history is written by the victors" sort of way?

You know your family sucks too right? Even more by raising a fedora "free" thinker who rationalize his egoism and then feels proud about it.
Greetings /his/torians. I am a big fan of the Extra History show on youtube. Their stories are interesting and seemingly educational but I would like to know what you all think.
Most importantly, is the information accurate? Biased at all?
I enjoy them and feel like they have taught me a lot and helped me get more into my favorite periods of history, but what are the facts?
if you're hoping to have a great understanding of history by watching internet videos then it's not going to work
Looks gay af
>>1521587
I guess you could call it accurate but it's nowhere near in depth.
So many rude boys throughout history

Brought to you by the earliest writers of the Old Testament.
(this inscription is actually amazing, it's one of the oldest, one of the only known depicting YHWH from Biblical times, and one of the few human figures discovered from the Israelites)

Do people like this?
hell yes

Everyone knows that colour wasn't invented until the 1950s.
It's just one of those pervasive myths, like guns not existing alongside knights.

Worst ""philosopher"" ever, if you ask me.

Neither the Albigensian Crusade nor the Waldensian persecutions were "Just" Wars, even by his own standards: but, he supported these, showing his pettiness and general lack of conviction, in that he only applied his guidelines of "Just" War to cases in which he didn't have a personal stake in. Otherwise, forget about them.

What parts of Anglo-Saxon culture actually survived the conquest? Or are the English just offspring of some shitty Latins?
The English really aren't Anglo-Saxon. Only 1/3rd of the the English genome is actually Anglo-Saxon.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3407267/The-English-one-Anglo-Saxon-Study-reveals-time-immigrants-mixed-British-population.html
The English have a significant amount of Celtic and French ancestry. Most of the English language (about 58%) as you can see (picture related) comes from Latin and French (a Latin-Romance) language.
Why would anyone wanna be Anglo-Saxon in the first place? Anglo-Saxons were subhuman Germanic barbarians.
>>1521159
Remind me why are French and Spanish seen as Latin despite their germanic origin while English and Dutch are Germanic?
>>1521159
That graph is a little misleading since it includes obscure medical and legal terms. In terms of words we actually use it would be a more even split between Old French and Old English.
"Pushing people forward simply because of their colour, irrespective of merit, would be most unfortunate and would of course lead to disaster. It would mean that Rhodesia would then develop into a kind of banana republic where the country would in no time be bankrupt." - Ian Smith
I put it to /his/, without racial prejudice nor /pol/centric stupidity, has Smith been vindicated by current events in Zimbabwe and, furthermore, in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) as a whole? Objectively speaking and not simply focusing on race but on the suitability of Westminster Parliament and/or Western Democratic systems in SSA?
>>1521059
Of course he has, Zimbabwe is a failure on every conceivable level.
>I put it to /his/, without racial prejudice nor /pol/centric stupidity, has Smith been vindicated by current events in Zimbabwe and, furthermore, in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) as a whole?
No, most Sub-Saharan African countries have approved immensely since colonialism ended and Zimbabwe in particular was actually pretty good during the first few years of Mugabe's rule. There was an unprecedented level of interracial social cohesion and education for both whites and blacks was massively improved.
Smith thought that simply putting a bunch of uneducated nignogs in charge would ruin the country, that it would just naturally fall apart. That isn't really what happened, Zimbabwe would probably be a great place to live today if it hadn't been for the embezzlement of the war veterans' fund, which set in motion a chain reaction where everything got fucked super fast.
