Are there no mods? The board says history AND humanities so why are half the threads about race?

I had a racist cousin once, would hang out with him sometimes during the summer. Whenever we were at a bar and saw a black person or couple he would note it and sneer toward them, call them niggers under his breath. He was always triggered about seeing blacks anywhere.

You're just like my fucking cousin OP.

Oh look, it's another meta-thread. The only way this in any way reduces the threads you're bitching and whining about is the vague chance this equally useless thread knocked one of them off page 10.

I was thinking about making a YouTube channel and doing animations of some famous battles in history. I wanted to start by doing Midway and I was wondering if anyone knows any good resources for a detailed account of the battle that also includes enough visual resources for making the animation?

This is more of a pet project that I doubt would get many views but if I do it is like to do it right.

There was a TV show called Battle 360° that did this with the USS Enterprise.
>>
Historia Civilis does that but it's almost completely Roman history, plus he explains the battles and their effect on history

Hopefully, he browses /his/

>>1525027

Yeah I plan on also going over the history around the battle as well as its causes and effects

MAD is only a thing if all sides believe it is a thing. The soviets didnt believe in MAD. They believed after the initital nuclear strikes they would be in a better place to fight a traditional war than the west would be.

What is the end goal or multiculturalism?

Is one, homogeneous world culture the logical conciliation of this school of thought? Would this be a good thing for humanity? Is this even possible?

No /pol/ shit please, I'm asking more about the broader long and short term effects multi-culturalism would have on cultural, political and socio-economic climate and the idea of a unified world culture, not "muh pure white race is getting diluted".

Lol no
The goal of multiculturalism is to have mutliple cultures exist next to each other and in interaction with each other peacefully and succesfully. It is about everybody accepting that other people do things differently, and not making a fuss about it. Different cultures won't necessarily merge into a large one over time.

more understanding between cultures and peoples leads to less conflict and fear. also people are interested in other cultures, foods, fashions, etc. furthermore, more genetic diversity leads to more attactive and healthy gene pools. people who don't participate in otherwise diverse areas tend to hang on to their prejudices and hatreds.
for example...
>rednecks in the countryside
>muzzie immigrants who don't socialize or mingle with the western society around them
>chinese international students who ghettoize themselves into apartment blocks and neighborhoods and don't leave them

How exactly was it a venetian victory, when they lost everything they had achieved in the last 800 years and got relegated from empire that required a strong european coalition to tackle, to city state status?

Christina Romer, an aide to Obama, did a study that found that most of the recovery came through monetary ( rather than fiscal ) means. FDR did devalue the dollar which helped a lot.
According to Scott Sumner the increase in spending in the new deal was counteracted by NIRA ( a nice sounding but ultimately contractionary policy ) and that the devaluation of the dollar was a big oomph.

No

It did help to lessen how strongly it affected the common man, but it did little to actually jump start the economy or create wealth. It was applying pressure on an arterial bleed.
Sure the guy isn't bleeding out anymore, but as soon as you take off that pressure he's gonna continue bleeding you. You need a surgeon.

Hey /his/torians,
How large was the following/cult of mithras in rome.
Could it have become influential if christianity didn't rise?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1523741
it was functionally the same as christianity, if they had taken over we'd just be saying mithras instead of god
>>
>>1523748
Mithraism didn't seek to suppress other cults though and only men could be members. it was one of several pagan cults to use monotheistic language but there's little evidence they took this very seriously. even those that did would simply identify the god with the platonic God, while still allowing for lower gods that are part of the material world
>>
>>1523741
Apparently it was popular among soldiers for being "manly" and promoting bravery.

But once the Christians got the upper hand they made sure to wipe out competing cults.
