I know most places will likely be WW2, some even WW1.

Some places have interesting recent conflicts, like Ulsterfags.
Georgia is almost there but there thing wasn't necessarily a conflict, just an overthrowing I suppose.

I'm just speculating, but I imagine it has to do with the more unified identity of Greece and Rome (in a cultural sense), and once we hit the middle ages things tend to splinter a bit nation-wise.

Most Westerners see it as being a quality similar in most other Westerners.

i personally love the medieval period
but i think it has to do with the fact that after rome fell we went from building an empire and spreading our roads and knowledge across the world, to burning people at the stake for having different views and dying of disease in mud huts.
whereas in the middle east culture and knowledge prospered and people were liveing relatively comfortably. and in the far east china was conquering shit and makeing gunpowder all while being emperors and shit.

Versailles overwhelming leniency can indeed be considered an important cause of WW2
Post WW2 Peace (which left Germany divided and militarily occupied) showed us that a harsh treatment was the cure to German chimp outs

The two main reasons for WW2 were Versailles leniency (which combined with the general German butthurt about having lost WW1 paved the way for WW2) and the US spawned Great Depression

It was just like America before 1964, except more people were second class citizens. It would have fell A LOT sooner but fear of Soviet/chinese infiltration of the ANC government made the west prop it up past it's expiry date. Standard of living and such was much higher and it was generally a better country if you put aside moral qualms over who had a right to rule, but if you think about it, Khoisans aren't even native to the region so they lose the indigenous argument and they didn't set up any government themselves, so they lose that too.

When it comes to socialism, nobody knows about socialism better than me. I have the best socialism. The best. But look folks, the westerners have been definetely outsmarting our politicians at the Cold War. When West Germany send its people, they're not sending their best. They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems to us. They're bringing companies. They're bringing banks. They're capitalists. And some, I assume, are good people. We need to build a wall. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate westerners. I love the west. I have great relationships with the western people. But what they have been doing to our GDR is just... terrible. Terrible. Sad! Don't worry though, folks. The Stasi is going to come back. And it's going to come back greater and stronger than ever before. It's gonna be yuge, believe me. We're going to make the Iron Curtain great again

Not to mention that Mandarin is there for two reasons: Number of speakers and China being a permanent member of the security council due to being one of the """"winners"""" of WWII.

And arguably, Mandarin is more relevant than Russian and Arabic. On the other hand, Hindi does not only largely overlap with English, but is even less used than English on its own home country as a lingua franca.

Pre-hydrogen bomb nukes are "only" about as effective as a very large (1,000ish) or so heavy bombers sortieing at once. They're powerful, but not an instant win button for any conceivable conflict. Hell, they got the railroads running again in Hiroshima the next day.

Quite honestly, if you posited a war breaking out between the USA and the USSR in the aftermath of WW2 as we know it, it would almost certainly be more decided by conventional weapons than atomics.
