Hell, i've been doing an exercise, kinda crackme, and been fooled by one additional byte i saw in hexdump. Now I've completed the crackme because i noticed it, but can someone explain why am i seeing what I'm seeing? Thanks
I know that 0x98 is not in range of ASCII, but where does that 0xc2 come from then?
I'm in a computer science subject at uni right now based on java and OOP. Now, I honestly think I know there is everything to know about this course (done 2 past papers and gotten >80% in them). Only thing I don't know is lambda expressions, but I've used functional programming languages before so it shouldn't be too hard?
Anyway, down to the meat and bones of the post, how do I stop myself from getting complacent and not giving a shit? It's a week in and I am still yet to take a single note in the lectures.
Should I put all my effort into this course and get around 100%, or don't give a fuck and coast by with an 80%? I only need 60% to pass (to change degrees at the end of the year).

Jesus, OP. Just put in some effort and get as good grades as you can. Why would you deliberately not get 100% ?
>>55648102
I guess I am just thinking of diminishing returns.
Spend 3 hours a week doing the course and get 80%, or spend 12 hours a week to get 100%.
I've got 3 other subjects, of which I am finding a bit difficult so far which would benefit from the extra time I can allot to them.

What are you changing your degree to, and will you be going for honors so that you can go for graduate education? Generally though if you want to go for graduate education I would say you should make an effort in all your courses.

Arch is the Ubuntu of minimal distros. Real minimal distro users use Gentoo.
If I downgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 7, will that delete all my files?
Better question is, "Why don't you backup your files and just reinstall Windows 7?"
It's not 100% safe to use the downgrade features. I've read a few stories about PC become unusable. If your file are important to you backup first then fresh install 7 if possible. I don't have 10 but I read the stories. I'm waiting until the possitive (shill) stories outnumber the negatives (horror) stories.

Jesus isnt that like 720x480? What kind of encoding is that. You could get 1080p x265 BDrip for that size

I have pic related and it's slow as fuck. It does about 1 page/min.
What's a /g/ approved scanner?
Phone "scanning" apps need not apply. I like my papers in 600 dpi or higher.
taking a pic of the document is faster than a scanner then.

Not if I have to retake it several times to get a perfect angle, lightning and resolution.
Hey there.
I have a question. I'm currently sending trying to get my pc fixed by ASUS with their warranty thing, due to some spots on the screen and some other stuff, but I'm wondering if I should even mention the fact that there is a bump in the aluminum on the top of the laptop (behind the screen). The bump did not cause the spots, and is even on another place than the spots. Would they even consider fixing it if they knew that there was a bump, or maybe they would just send the laptop back as soon as they saw the bump? I don't know. I've always fixed my computer problems myself, but this time it's not something that is fixed easily due to the cost of a replacement screen as it is a 4K screen and would inhibit the warranty. Especially after I paid almost $2k for the laptop itself (the one on the picture).
Should I even mention the bump in the aluminum? Would they send it back unfixed if they notived the bump without me mentioning it?
Thanks

You'll have to wait until the guy who can read ASUS's mind comes on line. About 4 hours.
I wouldn't mention it. Not worth the risk. And I wouldn't expect them to fix it anyway, no company would change the screen plate just out of niceness.
I just need a little help. It's a very simple problem. There's a .AVI video on one of my laptops running Lubuntu. I want to play that video on my xbox 360. Since i have shit internet, streaming it isn't an option. I put the video on a flash drive and it won't play on my 360. It won't play on my laptop running windows 10 either. Any thoughts?

Say what you will about MAC OS, those that develop for it, make some really nice software.
Ofcourse, the price keeps the Pajeets out and attracts good developers.

i5 6600k or i7 4790k?
Im building a PC and would like suggestions. If you can offer better deals like processors that are better (both in performance and price) please do. Sorry, I'm new to this
>>55645195
Just get the i7 if you can, it's faster, otherwise you'll wind up in threads like these attacking people who spent a little extra and got the i7 just to make yourself feel better.
Might as well get an AMD if you want to go that route.
i5 6600k if u plan on gaming as powerful(2-5 fps difference) as the i7 6700k in gaming
i7 is more work oriented (hyperthreading)
i went for i5 6600k since i only game and code
