You can go 1440p or 144Hz.

Hell, I'm using a 144Hz 1080p monitor with a 1070.

that's not how it works, 1080 is massive overkill at that res

consider knocking yourself down to a 1070 and spending the money on a better monitor, ideally something with at least a higher refresh rate, lower response times, etc.

1080 is being used primarily just to last for a good while. I did consider the 70 but after some good looking around there's only a £100-ish difference so why not?

Yeah I don't like the name, though the quality has been noted to be pretty good, it's a nice- small size so I can lug it around with relative ease and it werks.

I think AMD has won at this point. Those RX 480s are going out of stock really fucking quickly and people are buying those APUs/excavator processors more and more.

AMDs stock shows their success too, it's constantly getting close to $5.50 and Zen will make it keep climbing.

The only reason to go with intel or Nvidia at this point is if you have a cuck fetish.

This, it's useless without contex, especially since few of us follow console tech.
That said, there are many forms of compression used in image processing chains and in the frame buffer, and it's almost always beneficial. In theory you could process all the buffers at full resolution and high bit depth, but it wouldn't lead to real gains in image quality. A buffer that handles depth or occlusion is just a gray-scale image that can well be at a low resolution, and running it higher won't do you any good,

The biggest concern for me is the sRGB support, it's, well, only sRGB 0 which is fucking shit.

See pic related, if you can see a webkit logo your display and web browser support wider gamut than srgb.
IF you can only see a red square, then you're stuck with shitty sRGB gamut.

This shit is important for HDR, which is now, thanks again to consoles, a mainstream thing.
