any good articles discussing how inherently broken voting websites are?
- totally open to astroturfing and bot manipulation
- censorship by vote
now, any articles or ideas on what a good solution to this problem is? the chans aren't free of these problems
- astroturf because identities can't be identified
- censorship by getting yelled down by meme wielding lunatics
at this point i'm wondering what the purpose of communicating with people online about topics like politics is. if you can't identify the paid shills, how can you have a conversation?
i'm asking because if there is a solution i'm too stupid to think about, i'd create a site to facilitate this kind of communication
there is no wrong answer in this thread. just dump whatever ideas you have or articles you've read please.

Blockchain voting.

HA! You are in the wrong place. This board is only for BS tech device shilling.
What does g think of system mechanic?
looks like malware.
Why the fuck would you be using an OS along with a program that claims it's fixed over 75M instances of said OS? That's a pretty clear sign that not only is the OS trash, but the program is malware that does nothing to solve the shit underneath, just draw a few odometers in the green, whatever the hell that means.

What would it take to instal Gentoo on a SSD? Not on a computer that has an SSD, but on the SSD itself, they got things like multicore Arm Cortex R4's inside them with gig or even more of RAM to play with
A SSD for starters.
How would you interface the ssd to any kind of input or output device? Using sata? I think not... It's pratically impossible and also stupid
>>55666549
They got that 15 pin power connector and the SATA data connector that has 3 grounds and 4 data lines. All messaging to outside of the device would hafto go through those four data pins
Building my PC and I have a Question
I got myself a Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
and Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2x8GB (16GB) 3000MHz
But the paper in the mother board only lists the 4x4GB as compatible.
What will happen?
Nothing, compatibility lists are retarded. There are hundreds of kits of the market in many different combinations and they usually test 20-50 kits.
2x8GB is fine for that motherboard and that speed is fine as well. You might need to adjust the System agent (S/A) voltage when you set the XMP profile, but that will depend on your motherboard.
>>55666220
Nothing, the worse you can face is just the motherboard not posting.

Why?
How does the software industry deal with the fact that there is such a huge range of talent between different programmers and software engineers?
The fact that there are programmers currently working, who have roughly the same base of familiar knowledge, but who if you give them some unfamiliar code full of methods and objects unfamiliar to all of them and you ask them all to find the same bug and add the same piece of new functionality to it, some of the programmers will take a few hours to do the task while others could take a week on it?
Is this a problem for software recruiters?
I mean there will literally be people who have a decent amount of programming knowledge and a CV showing that they have been working doing programming for years, but if you give them some task they could be 4 times more slow and less producctive than another programmer.
Do any of you have any experience of recruiting ? how do you weed these people out?
And what about the fact that many programmers are weak or totally unfamiliar with important maths like geometry, trigonometry and linear algebra ?
How can you really discern a talented programmer from a mediocre but decently experienced and knowledgable programmer?
Do brainteasers or asking them write some simple code to solve some simple problem on the spot really work? because brainteasers you can hear the answer before hand and often test a slightly differnet skill from programming/software engineering, and the kind of small code tasks you get asked to do on the spot in interview often aren't representative of working on a larger product and can be within the ability of a mediocre-talent programmer.
What are your thoughts?

So many question marks..
1. We all start somewhere.
2. Learning by doing.
>>55665225
Probably the same as any other work place. Management can't into logistics so you end up with deadwood and golden boys they dump all their work on.
>>55665225
What you do is you setup the same interview for multiple applicants, and then compare their performance to each other.
You hire the best one.

So I've heard eye gaze tracking is used for some accessibility stuff for disabled users and so on.
Is there anything like that for a normal user? I'd love to be able to switch focus in a tiling WM just by looking at a particular window.

For every measure, there is a countermeasure.
In twenty years, there will be a countermeasure against reading people's minds, I'm sure of it.
In fact, there's one now.
Did anyone ever use to have on of these old IBM laptops back around the millenium?

I still use one. Not changing until someone releases a 4:3 laptop of equal quality.
