When will 4K be mainstream?

Do I buy a new cheap 1080p monitor and get a 4K one in a year or two, or buy a fancy IPS 1080p monitor that will last me a while if 4K doesn't come soon?

>When will 4K be mainstream?
When it drops in price enough for poorfags to buy it instead of 1080p garbage?

But more importantly, why do you care about what monitor other people use?
>>

I don't want to stand out too much.
>>
>>56287374
Homestly, I'd prefer three or more 1080p monitors to one big ass monitor.

So i fell for the meme and recently got my Redmi Note 3 MTK from China.

Where do I start? I want root and MIUI 8. My Mi account got approved for unlocking but in order to unlock i apparently need a developer rom and i cant install a developer room with a locked bootloader

So has anybody noticed how all of the cell phone carriers have colluded to screw poor people and perpetuate class divisions by making so only the well off can get the latest and greatest smartphones?

It used to be that just about anyone could sign up for a 2-year contract and get top of the line smartphones subsidized over the length of that contract.

But now, under a false 'pro-consumer' flag, all of the carriers have eliminated these contract subsidized phones. In order to qualify for 2-year monthly pricing on top tier smartphones, you now have to either have excellent credit or put $300-500 down, or even have to buy it outright. Many will be forced onto prepaid.

This has the end result of preventing countless millions of people from being able to get the high end phones they used to be able to afford through 2-year contracts. If this was a purely pro-consumer move, the new contractless options would be optional-- it's telling that those are now the only things on offer from all providers.

Anyone else see the BS of this regime when trying to shop for a new phone?

I like it, if there's no demand for $1000 phones the phone makers will refocus on making the best possible budget phone.

>poor

Starting to understand why you might be poor in the first place. You're like people with no money getting an expensive car. Stupid, and undeserving of pity.

They eliminated the two year contract option where the subsidy was unclear and replaced it with one where the two years of payments were clearly and separated as a line item on the bill equal to the amount of the subsidy. Before they did this, even when you got a two year contract they DID run your credit and if it wasn't good they rejected you.

Once they lowered the price of plans to eliminate the in-built subsidy for a two year contract on a very expensive phone, they had to make you pay for the phone in some fashion...

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

Has Youtube put in place some new code that delays video for people with Adblock installed? I just noticed a couple days ago that some videos are now preceded by a 15 second wait. I see nothing but a black screen with the loading animation. The problem goes away if I log out of my Google/Youtube account.

Not sure, but something has changed on YouTube's side. I can no longer play videos on newpipe and in 75% cases browser YouTube shows a "no supported format" error (phone). No problems on PC though. They're probably trying to kill adblockers.
>>
>>56287136
Probably not, if they want they could just bypass ABP completely with whitelisting and force you to watch the ads. But most people don't block ads so it's not worth it.
Maybe they just changed how something works and ABP is bugged until the next update
>>
>>56287248
>They're probably trying to kill adblockers.
adblocking isn't some 1337h4xor way of beating the system. Killing adblockers is trivial, several sites already do. But only like 5-25% of people use adblockers depending on demographics

Replacing an alphabet of letters and symbols with an alphabet of every single word.
There are lots of words, so if you use uncommon ones, the larger the dictionary has to be in an attack, and the difficulty increases exponentially as the dictionary size increases.

I have a samsung galaxy s6 here. The screen isn't working, but is it still possible to extract information. I'm thinking photos and videos? The phone comes up on the computer screen when plugged in, but in iphoto it says that it can't find any photos.

Just buy a broken S6 that has a working screen and replace it temporarily.

Either that or use Kies, you need to be able to unlock the phone though.
