They need to compete with iMessage and Facetime. Apple did years long ad campaigns to make sure users were utilizing these things.
Google releases apps that don't have feature parity with their competition, they don't advertise them to regular users, and is shocked that nobody ends up using them other than the autists who watch their bullshit conferences.

Rocketshield made a standalone Chrome browser for Android.
It's got plenty of users, but never seen it mentioned on /g/.
I think it's the best browser on the market right now.

I liked the Zune HD. It was supposed to be Microsofts ipod killer and IMO it had better features , windows integration and was cheaper. However the ipod still outsold it. Microsoft never released a successor because the smartphone market killed mp3 players
