It's running a rather fresh build too, but it's still has that "merge apps and tabs" thing in the settings that I never liked. But it's off by default.

Where's the source code?
Do you think anyone on /g/ is going to use some propware?

To be honest I would use Firefox but first there is the SJW shit, second, it's very slow.

There's no reason to use such a browser or even adblock extensions unless you're stupid enough to have an android device you can't root.

It's a double-edged sword.
Then there is the need for root. On HTC, on Samsung, you can't root. (Unless you have 500$ in your pocket.)

Not sure about HTC, but Samsung phones usually get root support after a year when some geek on xda finds a way to easily root. At least from my experience with my galaxy s3 and s5.

Facebook is a shit app anyway, if you need it you can always use FB Lite and won't even need messenger for messages, which will save you battery, network bandwidth and disk space. I didn't have a single problem with any apps after a system wide adblock.

I agree on the empty blocks problem, but the reason I like it better is the speed and app adblock. I rarely visit sites which contain ads all over the place so I almost never notice the blank space. Obviously this is just a matter of preference and browsing habits.

It doesn't work on all apps and it can make some apps break. Unless you're not talking about rebuilding the apps without ad dependencies, in which case the system wide adblock on lucky patcher is identical to how adaway works although I'm not sure if they use the same hosts list.

It will just trigger something inside and it will say you tampered with the device. Of course you can root a HTC, just like how you root a Samsung.

But in my life I had to return like 5 HTC devices and 4 Samsung. Usually near the end of warranty. So fuck that, ain't gonna risk it.

It was an example mate, I never use it. I have Lite because some people just can't fucking learn Hangouts or Telegram. I just mentioned it because AdAway breaks it.

Speed wise, I think it's 1:1 on par with "Free Adblock Browser".

But there is none.
There was a few attempts at XDA to make Snapdildo and other forks that had adblock inside, but they just had this baked filters.

I think it's Chrome's codec pack, just a bit older, does not have that dedicated mute button yet.

The only phone I know that's safe to root is LG, pre 4.4 Samsung. Chink phones I guess. Nexus (but these carry the tampered message too IIRC).

Eh, I just use Lightning Browser which has adblock and is FOSS. It just werks.

I hate F-Droid though, it's constantly running in the background with like 50-80mb of ram usage for no fucking reason. It's one of the worst apps I ever seen.
