Will this device revolutionize AI?

No, if they used that to make processors, then you'd have a CPU which increases in size the more electricity passes through it.
>>57180030
no why would it

Whoever thought of that name should be shot.
To put it succinctly, Windows 10 is bullshit and I'm getting really sick of it.
I was a huge Microsoft booster for a very long time. I had Windows Phone 7 at launch and stuck with it through the Lumia 920, until I couldn't stand the (very real) app gap any longer. I liked and defended Windows 8, even before they fixed it with the 8.1 update. I got a Dell Venue 8 Pro Windows tablet when they were still novel. I used Windows Media Center as my primary DVR for years. I used Windows Home Server when that was a thing. I ripped my CDs to WMA format.
I was very much a Microsoft fanboy.
And Windows 10 has broken me.
Should I install FreeBSD or Linux? I already tried both on VMware
>>57179809
Cool blogpost. Install gentoo though
if you're installing gnu/linux because you dislike windows you're doing it wrong and are what's wrong with this board

How long before complete "cable-ization" of Internet?
FCC blocked their scheme to charge more for certain web contents with net neutrality, so now they're buying the content producers themselves directly.
I imagine they will use Time Warner contents to squeeze smaller competitors even further (you can't watch HBO or Adult Swim unless you have AT&T internet or internet from a large competitor who can actually afford antitrust lawsuit against AT&T (Verizon, Comcast, etc.)).
>AT&T buying out time warner
Didn't spectrum just do this a few weeks ago?
>>57179871
It was about 2 months ago and they still haven't finished the transitions.

Hey /g/
Need a new laptop after 8 years, looking for something in the 15-17 inch range. Something that will be able to handle work and some intermittent gaming to pass time. Not looking like a 12 year old designed it is a big plus. Currently looking at an MSI GT72VR Dominator or the MSI GT62VR Dominator. Both configs are offered at just about $2000. Any suggestions?

Get a Sager/Clevo. Design is pretty understated (minus the RGB keyboards they added to some of the latest generation line) and performance is excellent with no thermal throttling.
>>57180223
Thanks, Ill look into them, ive heard great things about the Sager

What you're just done is a very very serious felony. I'd stay clear of your door if I were you and also maybe get on the floor with your hands above your head so they won't have to shout at you so much.
Stupid question, but is there any physical differences in a cable labeled HDMI 2 compatible and an ordinary HDMI 1 cable? I was led to believe that the port on the device was what actually made the output HDMI 2.0, not the cable. There's so much marketing buzzword nonsense around this subject and I want to get to the bottom of this. I know the difference between a HDMI 2.0 port and 1.0 port, just not what could be different about the cable itself.
The difference is in the hardware. You can use any HDMI cable for 2.0.
I did have to upgrade my HDMI cables at one point two cables that supported 1.4 spec or Arc are Soundbars and certain TVs that support it the arc HDMI port
>>57181356
Normal HDMI cables will work but you'll need HDMI 2.0 spec cables for HDMI 2.0 functions (4k @ 60 hz for example)
Your kids will use shitty ARM SoCs or some extra backdoored x86 derivative and never use a ppc workstation from sun.
let that sink in for a bit.
Future technology woes thread.

I think you took the wrong exit, reddit was the other way
Wasn't Sun's big thing SPARC? PowerPC chips were pretty much just produced IBM, Motorola, and I think Freescale.
And it's not as though the architecture is completely dead. PowerPC has grown into just POWER and now OpenPOWER, but there aren't many companies that make use of it. In many cases, x86_64 outperforms POWER, or at the very least, achieves better performance/$ and performance/watt.
>>57179347
>achieves better performance/$ and performance/watt.
Depends on the application. Generally speaking, Intel holds the crown on single threaded with POWER leading in multithreaded. Performance per watt is equally application specific. Per unit currency is harder to pin down though, as paying list price for POWER hardware is an exceptionally bad deal.

Computers and Laptops were first invented by Virat Hindu ancestors 5000 years during vedic time. Ancient Laptops & Computers had no processors and RAM.
Unfortunately, It was later copied by Christian Mathematician Charles Babbage.
Sanskrit learning was essential for Computer literacy those days. Only Brahmins could operate computer those days as lower castes were never allowed to learn Sanskrit.
It was the only official programming language used then. C, C++, Java etc are poor subset of Sanskrit and they are 2000% times slower than Sanskrit.
It's shameful and unfortunate that Indians are more eager to learn foreign Western programing languages instead of Sanskrit, where as NASA still uses Sanskrit as it's the most secure language.
