What does /g/ think of HTC 10?
>>57491957
Overpriced for what it is worth, but fairly robust. If it had a replaceable battery would've been perfect.
Owned it for a few months now and have no qualms with it so far.
Would prefer a slightly smaller and thicker phone with more battery life.
>>57492190
Even after the price drop?
>>57491957
If you have an unlimited budget it's probably the best phone you can get.Definitely the best flagship.
Why do these things always break?
Also what are some laptops with spare ones? I know they exist.
>>57491782
>Why do these things always break?
this has never happened to me once
i listen to music on my laptop for roughly 6-8hours a day, never has happened in the past 3 years.
>>57491801
Happened to me twice. I swear I'm careful with my stuff.
Also a third of them in computer labs at school are broken.
It's basically Christmas. What is that one toy that you really, really want?
:^)
>>57491765
Just money so I can build wall.... I mean a rig!

What is the best power bank on the market?
Is there one brand that /g/ recommends?
What powerbank do you use?
etc.
>>57491641
I was thinking about getting one but not sure if I'm allowed to bring on a plane?
whichever one is on sale and has the highest mah to dollar ratio
>>57491696

Can't go wrong with xiaomi powerbanks
What does /g/ think of Antergos?
It seems interesting to me since it uses the Arch kernel and has the option of using the AUR but with a much simpler install.
botnet
fuggin love it.
>>57491548
Good distro, except for the installer

Basically I've heard there are almost no COBOL programmers. I'm not really sure why this is since they apparently make a lot of money. I was thinking about working at my current job for like 2 years, teaching myself COBOL during that time, and then trying to get a job making bank as a COBOL developer.
Is this a bad idea? Does it make sense?
>>57491421
>learning programming languages is hard
do you have certain job offers in mind? if not why bother. most likely they will check your resume and if you don't have any experience in a deprecated language RIP.
>taking life advice from a lainchan thread
Where's the job security there? Most companies are moving away from that. Much better idea is to learn a modern language and join the ranks of software developers who are REPLACING the old, outdated COBOL systems.
>All modern phones are metal slabs with glass stuck on the front
>Literally not one company is brave enough to try something different
Why even live?
>>57491408
We just usually end up with shitty meme phones
HTC is the only company un the past few years who have actually innovated
>>57491408
what else do you want?
you have a magic slab of glass and it's not good enough for you.
>>57491408
There are some outliers, but glass slabs are going to be here for a long while. They are popular for a reason: amazing auto-correct and text prediction keyboards paired with hueg screen for media consumption. It is simply the best form.

Remember the following:
>staff occasionally read these generals and have posted here before, though most claims of being staff are false
>staff may pretend to be normal users asking for invites and when you invite them, they ban you for inviting strangers
>sneaky bastards will try to convince you that cheating can be evaded. It can't and you will be banned and everyone will laugh at you

How can I use Downlad Them all to download all the torrent files to seed in another client. I tried filtering the .torrent file extension but it doesn't work
I'd like to buy one of the small ARM-based computers so I can use it for various things and offload some of the tasks that I do on my laptop.
I planned on buying a RasPi but recently I came across Orange Pi and on paper it's a MUCH better deal than RasPi. It has a much faster CPU/$$$ and connectivity.
I've read that OrangePi is also used in new Nintendo retro console.
So, anyone tried Orange Pi? Would you recommend it?
>>57490967
Buy the orange pi pc because it's cheap and in the end it'll probably end up being a dust collector no matter which one you buy.
You'll save money that way at least
>>57491036
I plan on using it for torrents. always on, always connected to a paid VPN... seems like a good idea anyway.
Can these things run Windows 10?
Rather than leasing their modem, I'm looking to buy a modem/router. The connection will be some dual-DSL connection that totals to 20Mbps. What modem aside from the ActionTec C1000A do you guys recommend?
>CenturyLink
Don't judge me, I've literally had NO problems with them whatsoever while I've had nothing but trouble from Comcast.
Pfsense and vigornic 132.
One specification: it's got to be VDSL2 compatible.
Help please?
>>57490907
>leasing a modem
Is this an American thing? I haven't seen a modem that isn't a router in the UK in six years. A modem/router costs well under $50 - why would someone lease one?
Anons, I need to be redpilled I'm considering this for my battlestation upgrade. I mostly like to watch series and play /v/idja. Did some research and saw it has a 8ms response time which seems 'ok' for a casual faggot such as I.
I think 4k is a bit of a waste for smaller than 30 inch screens (personally) am I wrong on that too? My viewing distance is between 1-2ft generally and I run a 1080 so I think it should be okay.
Ok?
As in should I go for it or not? It's looking like a good deal but I just wanted /g/'s opinion.
>>57490813
Seems really cheap. Can you post more specs?

will it play well on dx12?

>currytek
Stopped reading there.
>Under $1000
Who the fuck is buying these high end cards? The last time I spent that kind of money would had been on an 8800 Ultra.
Is it idiots or is there a market of people trying to push into 4k gaming?
Anyone here uses Jolla? How is your experience? Do you feel the "app gap" while using it?
I kinda want one.
>>57490168
I use it on my Nexus 5. I'm working on a 4chan client for Sailfish OS. I haven't been able to get a decent work around for installing APKs. Sfdroid is shit and Myriad refuses to let individual users purchase Alien Dalvik which is the compatibility layer for Android on official Jolla devices. If you use Sailfish, it's best to use it on an official Jolla device to get Alien Dalvik support.
I had the original phone and I would get the Indian one next if it was easily available.
I have spent a whole week trying to find the best 4k UHD monitor to purchase but I can't find any good choices. Can someone please lead me to the best one I can purchase under $500?
Sharp Text? => Dell P2415Q
Still pretty sharp text but also more screen real estate? => Dell P2715Q
>>57490067
I wouldn't listen to this jim, go for an iMac 5K model for the best screen quality on any monitor.
Nothing else compares really.
>>57490100
This is true
