Hey guys. I don't usually frequent this board, but I wanted to ask a question about the Razer Deathadder Chroma. I recently bought it, and the scroll wheel is super 'soft'. Really easy to accidentally scroll twice and it just feels really loose.
Is this how it's supposed to be? If it is, is there a way to modify it by opening the thing up?

That's your problem right there

So here it is eh
Hi /tg/ ! I have a weird problem with my computer and I thought you could help me fix it.
Around a year ago I bought myself a computer. I was going to build it myself but I found one on kijiji that was one year old, and half the price of the pieces inside of it.
It was in perfect shape, R9 290x, AMD 8320, 16gb Ram, SSD etc...
After some time I started noticing weird crashes during games, mostly hardware intensive ones (GTA V for instance). Basically the screen turns to black, and there is a buzzing sound. The keyboard and fans stay lit, the computer isn't shut down, it's just the black screen and the buzzing noise. If I am playing with my xbox controller, it's vibrating too, continuously.
At first I thought it was the ram, I memetested it and indeed one of my two bar was filled with errors. So I started using only one, going down to 8gb (which is more than enought).
The crash continued.
So I checked my temps, and indeed the GPU was running really hot (AND huh) while playing GTA V or BF4. So I bought a side fan to gently blow in the GPU, getting a better airflow. GPU temp lowered by like 20 degrees Celsius, and I never had any problem with BF 4 and GTA V again.
But lately it started again. I blew my computer, dusted it off etc, it worked fine but crashed again while playing Spec Ops.
Black Friday is coming and I would like to know what can cause this crashes, to change parts if needed. What causes a crash like this ?
tl;dr : My computer "crashes" with a buzzing sound and black screen but the computer stays on. What is it ?
This is my Speccy if it's useful.
I've read that maybe the card doesn't receive enought power, something to do with only one of the pin being plug onto the GPU instead of two. I need to check this out maybe.
Read the sticky.

And here is the reason why the Pixel sports two huge bezels
>>57499588
Samsung does VR too and they have smaller bezels
>>57499588
is really convenient for that particular hmd design that the bezels in the phone are symmetrical, and particularly for the 5'' screen which barely fits.
that said, they probably let the huge chin just for resembling the one in the iphone.

You know the screen scan go past the edge of the headset right?
I've been given the job of making our Android app work after it was botched by outsourced devs in the third world.
It's a fairly simple app, and I have some experience in Java, but little/none in Android.
I'm planning to add tests to it as I fix bugs as there are currently none.
Is there a good way to go about this? Or a recommended test framework to use? I'm not going to be adding any features for a long time. Just refactoring/bug fixing. I just want to make sure I don't break anything (we have a lot of users who depend on this app for their jobs).
I have downloaded a copy of Working Effectively With Legacy Code, which seems to be well regarded.
Read it, fix stuff, use git in case you fuck up. How is this difficult?
I'm using git of course. It's the worry of releasing it and breaking something in production seeing as there's no tests.
I don't understand the codebase and it's a fucking mess, spaghetti code. I need to add tests to make sure I don't knock anything out. I don't know how to do this.
Where to even start??
>>57499532
>I don't know how to do this
Why the fuck were you given the job? Mismanagement? You should at least be hitting this shit in a team if you've no experience of wading knee-deep in somebody elses shit. Curry scented shit at that.
You'll have to start the arduous process of refactoring and working tests into it, try not to hang yourself in the process. Or do, it'll be less painful.

New to database design. If I have table like this:# User
id
username
password
type (regular, company)
first_name
last_name
company_name
company_address
company_vat_number
As you can see this table supports both kind of users. Company will use the company_* fields and regular won't. Is this bad design? This is for a really small project.
>>57499225
I also have the same usage in another table:# Taxi Booking
id
address_type (google, internal)
from_address_place_id (for Google address)
from_address_internal_id (for internal addresses)
to_address_place_id
to_address_internal_id
As you can see the value of the address will be saved in the appropriate field. There must be a name for this kind of table design and I hope it's good design.
Yes. Make two different tables and JOIN them. It will make your tables cleaner and optimize your queries so you only select what you really need.
>>57499290
It really is a horrible design
What do you think of it? I'm not so keen on LastPass since it was hacked, BUT "breevy" (the keyboard abbreviation software) looks nifty.
What I'm wondering though is the file manager. They offer Opus, and I never tried it before. I installed the demo and it looks like a pile of shit. Has anyone used it? At this rate why not just use Total Commander?
Bump

it is the light edition, so you can just download and install that version, it is exactly the same as the one on the bundle
also, it is a one use key

Hello I just purchased a Brand New Zotac GTX 1080 AMP EXTREME and I installed the drivers
I needed for the card. However when I played games such as Arma 2 and Battlefield 1
I got 8-9FPS. I heard I should try adjusting the power MGMT settings in the Nvidia control panel
and also putting it into a different PCI Slot. If all of these steps still keep me at 8-9 FPS
What should I do next?

Do you have your monitor connected to the motherboard or the GPU?
You are probably using your integrated gpu and not the 1080.
Hello, /g/! Greetings from /vp/.
What is the best place to learn programming for an absolute begginner/noob?
I want to make a simple website/web app similar to these:
http://pokecharms.com/trainer-card-maker/
https://richi3f.github.io/pokemon-team-planner/
Probably very basic, just a visual interface that people can edit choosing which sprites to use and customize what background color, etc. I'm good with Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash, the entire visual part of it, but I have absolutely no idea how to code or program something like this.
Realistically, how long would it take for me to learn this?
Thanks.
>>57498973
Also, should this be HTML? A flash thing? Please help, or just direct me to a starting point.
Of course I can just google it, but you guys here can probably put me on a better/faster track to learn this stuff.
Look into bootstrap, mySQL, learn HTML+CSS (or at least the basics), learn basic programming. Would recommend Python for back-end.
>>57499285
this. if you want to have the app public, php is the cheaper alternative for a backend. also jquery for interactivity (ignore web nu-male shilling)
