The real answer is the uTP is a stateless transfer protocol (UDP). This means that the sender keeps on giving you information without any request for acknowledging that the packet was not corrupt. The reason you can do that is that the torrent file itself already has it's own checksum or hash to make sure that you're getting the right info.

Because TCP has more overhead, UDP can be faster.

as you can see my upload speed is typically below 400KB/s, but does peak at 581KB/s (not shown)

I want to watch that movie legitimately? I have to get a BR, if I can even find it. It takes longer to get and more effort, but the playback options are restricted both by the format (it's a disc that needs a disc player) and by the DRM intentionally designed to hamper me, the legitimate owner. I want convenience? Maybe I can find it on Netflix, or maybe not, but then the quality is shit because lel 5Mbps stream and I can only play it while I continue paying the subscription.

Why is legitimate movie/TV show distribution such shit? Why isn't there something like Steam for movies, where I can download the entire movie in the highest quality possible to my own machine?
