I want a mini laptop, smaller the better. Mostly just as a portable coding machine. Is the Asus eee my only option? I'd prefer something smaller

Yesterday I picked up the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series for $329AUD.
I wanted a netbook for coding, browsing and the basics, and my other laptop just happened to die on me yesterday.

The CPU is 2.16Ghz I think, 4gb of ram and a 32gb eMMC drive.
I was skeptical of the small drive but I'll just buy a 128gb SD card I think.
This thing actually handles really well. I'm using it with my 24" monitor as a second display and it still does well to multitask several things, handles 8+ chrome tabs, plays HD video fine, even does well on Google maps streetview. Only thing I notice obvious performance drops in is loading heavy web pages.
I'm excited to see how it handles while travelling because I've always wanted a ~11" laptop like this.

I just graduated with a bachelor in CS, but I can't get a job. It seems like all the jobs requires a master or at least 2 years of experience. I'm also almost 30 so it looks like they only hire younger people with only bachelors. Am I unemployable? What should I do /g/?

the processors are like about 2V, most of controllers on boards are 3.3V, or even if not there is still possibility to use those 3.3V max.
Co how the fuck god damn engeneers need 12.6V in notebooks when in any tablet use 4.2V usually 1 cell or 2 parallel??? They putting buttload of DC-DC converters anyway! They convert DC to HV AC/DC orever for backlight and lcd anyway. I got in tablet like 5 DC-DCs converters. There is NOTHING on boards that need this high voltage. Isn't thats wasting capacity that is divided by number of cells?

There is also plans for a 14TB version.

>The He12 is Western Digital’s fourth generation helium HDD, featuring an industry-first eight-disk design, to deliver 12TB capacity using PMR technology in a standard 3.5-inch form factor. It is the world’s highest capacity hard disk drive for active random workloads. Utilizing Western Digital’s unique HelioSeal process that seals helium in the drive to help provide the highest capacity HDD and exceptional power efficiency, the He12 comes in a single 12TB capacity point and offers either a SATA or SAS interface both using Advanced Format. HelioSeal technology utilizes helium with 1/7 the density of air, enabling the use of thinner disks, while maintaining a stable recording interface.

>The company will extend the He12 platform further, leveraging SMR to provide even more capacity from the same essential hardware. The SMR version of the drive will deliver 14TB and will support, in particular, many cloud service providers that have implemented SMR support in their software architectures to more cost effectively store ever increasing data associated with the services they provide.

What kind of hard drive? Is it an actual bare HDD you bought and installed yourself (in which case I can't fathom how it could be asking for your data, unless HDDs have fancy EFI-style firmware of their own these days), or have you bought an external HDD that comes with an enclosure and some custom software to access its contents?

Why the fuck are there no 4K computer monitors?

There's a shitload of 4K TV-monitors but there is no fucking 4K content for them.

Why doesn't monitor manufacturers like Dell, Acer and Asus make some fucking 32-40" 4K computer monitors with IPS panels?

Seriously, it fucking makes sense for computers because there will be much more workspace.

Fuck you Dell.

In fact, the IBM T220/T221 had a slightly higher resolution as what's referred to as "4k" today.
