Can someone tell me what is the most economic rugged laptop?
>>57881930
Oh man, I used a rugged laptop in the army. Damn they're comfy.
I bought a pentium model toughbook for a couple hundred a year ago and it works just fine with debian, touchscreen and all.
How does one stay updated about new updates for e.g. Magento, phpbb, and other online software. Is there a tool, do you use RSS, how do you solve this?
Ideally, I'd like to get a notification or email that I need to upgrade something

is there a good yet fast and minimalist shell?
>>57881719
Use tried and true xterm
>>57881760
he meant shell like bash, ksh, tcsh etc
>>57881850
There's still people who can't see the difference between a terminal (emulator) and the shell that runs inside it, apparently.
Why are japasene so backwards when It comes to computers?
Within the society as a whole? Mainly because they generally don't like to waste time worrying about being on the bleeding edge. The emphasize shit that works. If it works and serves the purpose they need, they just stick to it.
They tend to only change stuff if it makes a DRASTIC difference in productivity.
Because they've mainly used their phones years before the west. Gaming was covered by consoles and pcs are good enough if they run office and eroge.
>>57881603
Basically because their whole society is ran by a bunch of luddites, and unlike here, you dont actually move up based off merit, you move up from being old. So all the people in charge of all the country's top companies are all ancient and scared of change. This wouldn't be too bad if the younger generation wasn't also cripplingly scared of failure, and absolutely unwilling to start their own businesses
Is there any open source Macromedia/Adobe Flash clone? I'm finding mostly AS2/3 editors with no easy graphics editors.

So I can't buy power amp unless I have a Google account? Wtf
>>57881482
>poweramp
but why
>>57881488
I want the EQ features. Phonograph only has presets, can't adjust the levels yourself.
>>57881504
You can with a cyanogenmod
Phonograph redirects you to AudioFX
Fucking. Pajeet. Cunts.
So this has happened. It's obviously bullshit, and having spent the best part of 50 minutes wasting as much of these fucker's time as I can (and having my phone number barred from their system, kek) I can't get rid of these tabs.
If I click the "prevent additional dialogue" check then ok, the popup immediately returns. Clicking the checkbox a second time opens a new tab, with the same dialogue box. Same again, click it away twice, new tab, process repeats. I can't interact with the browsers UI in any way while this dialogue is open, can't switch to other tabs, can't minimise the window, can't do shit.
I have tried task killing the browser but chrome is set to pick up where it left off, on the last tab you had active, so thats fucked. As chrome does not display the tab title in task manager under wangblows like it does under OSX I don't know which processes to snipe to kill these tabs. I just tried the same under firefox in a VM and it is exhibiting the same behaviour, so fuck off with your "hurr chrom buttnet" faggotry. I could force chrome to prompt it's "didn't close properly, want to restore tabs" shenanigans by pulling the battery off my laptop, but I'd prefer not to.
What fuck do? (also, if you're ausfag, call these fuckers and tell them to poo in loo, its a free call yo)
>>57881450
If you get one of those you deserve it to be honest familia
Also you already have a solution and are just too much of a pussy to do it
sage
>>57881450
You should be able to click the application icon wherever you have it to open a new window. From here, press shift + esc to open chromes built in task manager. See if you can kill them from there.
>>57881761
> Le sage is a downvote meme
You have to go back.
>>57881761
One of what smartarse? A hijack from a slashdot link? Yes, that'll teach me for trying to use the modern web.
> too much of a pussy to do it
When you move out of mums house and have to actually pay for your own hardware, you'll learn the virtue of taking care of it junior.
>>57881953
Aww yis, didn't even know chrome had it's own task manager. Odd I didn't come across it while googling around on how to kill tabs. God amongst men anon.
What's his name?
>>57881366
Richard Stallman
>>57881366
Torvalds/Linus (or, as I have recently come to call him, Torvalds+Linus).
>>57881366
He actually used to be quite fat for some time. Not nearly so as this >>57881379 fatass, but still.

Which is right?
The one you prefer
>>57881228

also if you really cared, you could go on youtube and look up how their reps say it. if that doesn't satisfy you, then probably nothing will, so who cares what you think?

I need help figuring out what these are and what cables go into them, I know the middle one is HDMI as that's the one my monitor goes into and I was wondering if I could have 2 monitors so please help.
Look at a diagram of a motherboard and what types of plugs it has+the names, should be easy to find on the internet.
Yes, you can have 2 monitors.
>>57881159
Left to right:
DVI-I (interlaced)
HDMI
DisplayPort? (image is cut off)
Thanks guys <3 4chan is such a loving and caring community. I feel stupid now.
There's literally no point in ever buying a smartphone more expensive than budget-tier.
A Moto G4 for example runs anything perfectly fine except shitty unoptimized games with RAM to spare for multitasking, why do phones that cost 4x more even exist?
thanks for your input, rajesh, we'll let you know when we want more.
>Buying phones without custom ROM support
>Letting your phone manufacturer decide when and if you can update your phone
Fuck off
>>57881185

nice desktop thread macfag
>>57881103
God says up to 16 colours is fine.
Last night I finally built my first rig.
i5 6600K
MSI Krait Gaming 3x
16 Gb DDR4 Hyper X Black 2400Mhz (2x8)
Hyper 212 Evo
256Gb Crucial SSD
1Tb WD Caviar Blue
But installing Windows 10 it gives me that error around 30% of instalation. I started reading forums and got kinda scared because it could be a Hardware issue (RAM), so I tried with both sticks apart and got the sae result.
Tried with 2 different isos, same story. I'm using a bootable USB.
Please, help me solve this. I'm not a tech savvy, I don't have much money and I don't want to spend more to replace my ram if that's the problem.
PS. Sorry if I have grammar errors. I'm not a native english speaker, I learned on my own.
>>57881070
did you calibrate the omnitronic oscapilator? did you apply the farodynamic soot to the variable manipulator?
your bootable usb might be corrupted
I would delete the files off the usb and rebuild it
>>57881070
Try a linux distro, you can also try taking out one of the ram modules in case one of them is fucked up
