i'd get an i3 at the bare minimum and 2 sticks of memory instead of one so you get dual channel bandwidth.

Anyone on /G/ know absolutely anything about GIS? Shit career outlook?
All tech is decent career. With that said, I would never get into GIS, but I am in academia so I dont' really like working. I know a couple of shit-tier universities offer that style of program with their CS degrees, and trick kids into taking it. Maybe look at career options and weigh it out.

>never get into GIS

GIS is cool. A lot of the jobs are in government though, which is no bueno for me.
Are you trying to learn QGIS or ArcGIS, or do you just not have a clue at all yet?

What's a good External Hard Drive? My friend wants one for Christmas so what's the best one for the price? I'm looking at the Seagate STEA1000400 on Amazon, pic related, and it looks alright. Is there anything better than it?
I really like my silicon power one. So far I've had no troubles with it after two years of heavy use.

the seagate enclosure is really good anon, it's USB3, cheap and looks nice. You can put whatever drive you want in it. I use to re use some old laptop hdds
