How does one stop shitposting and actually learn to start programming?
Why would you want to stop shitposting?
>>57878691
Because it may be less instantly satisfying but to have the knowledge to do something useful would be nice.
>>57878678
By doing it
I've cobbled together a NAS box made from old LGA775 parts.
The memory is not ECC so I am concerned about the rate of corruption.
so my question /g/ is how important is ECC memory?
>>57878657
if you don't know why you need it you don't need it
>>57878657
You're not going to need it on home servers or anywhere where you won't get fired if the server shits the bed, which is almost never a memory issue.
I'm using a Dell R510 for my nas box, I would recommend ECC memory but, my previous nas box didn't and I never had a problem. ECC memory is more for mission critical stuff.

>>57878354
I have a barracuda with about 5 years of POH. Started out in an EXT hard drive enclosure and I removed it for increased read/write speed. I renamed that one Barracuda the Immortal.

Hey /g/ T1600 build guy here, had an autism moment with an OS situation. Found the ram im going to get, next is psu and graphics card, right now in this shit box theres an Nvidia quadro 600, and someone mentioned a 1050ti sliding in at around $145, anyone got better ideas on something cheaper or is this as good as it gets with a shit box somewhat budget build?
>>57878216
We need to know which PSU you ended up having in that machine because they are known to come with either a 265 watt or 320 watt model.
this isn't your personal fucking blog so piss off and die
>>57878261
This build is unique because it uses a PC which /g/ has recommended on several occasions but has never actually seen built from so you can fuck off.

Why the fuck do laptop manufactures make laptops so hard to disassemble?
To reset a screen ribbon cable I had to remove well over 2 dozen screws, the hard drive, the battery, the WIFI adapter, the keyboard, a metal plate, and the plastic casing.
The connection wasn't the problem either so I just wasted my time.
>>57878111
they make money selling laptops
normal people give up if it's too difficult, so they make more money on repairs
>>57878111
Because they are convenient portable computing devices. You want to fix shit get a desktop
This meme fan is just slightly too big for my case. What does /g/ recommend that is just a little smaller?
