What are you working on, /g/?
Old thread: >>58009006
First for developping your own OS
First for akari-bbs!

Good OP, right at bump limit. Thanks.
Working on .NET things.
I like C#, and I like .NET.
I am happy.
Have you finally switched to windows XP /g/?
XP has the following benefits
Its no longer supported by Microsoft (the biggest virus and spy-ware dev in the world)!
This means:
You will not get virus uploads from MS!
you will not have a un-removable, un-deletable permanent spy-ware build into the system!
You will be safe from MS infecting you with a new spy-ware in windows 10.
You are no longer part of the Win10; Win8; Win7 botnet that will push more viruses and try to trick you into installing Win10.
PS: MS like every scammer tries to trick you naming its viruses "securities updates" don't fall for it! Every MS "securities updates" is a virus.

windows 8 is faster than xp on old machines
>>58015093
running Vista here, 360 blaze it fagot.
Vista the most advanced, most compatible with all hardware and most stable OS ever made.
>>58015156
Discontinued, most new software won't support it

Why is Linux riddled with nonfree software?
Why don't they write free drivers instead of dropping blobs into the kernel?
Is it just lazyness?
>>58015030
it's hard to RE hardware so you can write a driver for it. things like graphics cards are very complex, and other things like wifi drivers are probably not as hard but easy to make a mistake on
They have a very strict code policy that's why it's easier to compile shitty code into a blob then making it FOSS.
>>58015030
Because only Theo de Raadt is manly enough to go through with free drivers to the point of removing bluetooth support entirely just to make a point.
Is it a good brand for notebooks?
>>58015029
>shit build quality
>bloatware pre-installed
that's a no.
they work as long as you're not going todo any resource intensive work on them
but they won't give you prestige like macbooks or thinkpads or those sexy aluminum ultrabooks
>>58015037
you're supposed to format them and install a brand new os on them, if you're on /g/ that's a given
and the build quality is shit but if you need them for a couple of years they're alright
Just give in guys chrome is the fastest browzer out therre
yes
but i would rather wait 5ms more for a page to load and have privacy
A fast browser which turns into a black hole of lag once you use a session manager like SessionBuddy which makes it worse than FireShit,
which can't put common domains under a single process due to technical stupidity and shitty security reasons thus making it worse for RAM than Fireshit in a way,
which actually asks you to pay to unlock full features in addons (KEK) such as the only shitty alternative to vertical tabs (taboutliner),
which can't be customized,
which doesn't like some addons because they improve Google services better than Google is capable of out of butthurt,
and which disables many nifty features out of security concerns without giving the user a choice if they can afford it or have a way around it.
In general, it is faster than Firefox.
However i'd rather have a slow browser that is capable of all listed above than have a fast browser which is castrated.

The temple shrine outside of Akihabara. Ask the girl named Luka if you can speak to her father. He'll let you borrow it.

A price drop, an open SDK or even the choice of OS, and a less niche target audience is all this would need to sell well in the US. I don't know about you, but a small hologram display seems like it'd be cool to play with.
If I can install Mycroft AI, I'm sold.

It's cheap but several points:
- You don't really want to write Unity games in JS. Use C# for scripts.
- Books are almost always somewhat outdated due to the time it takes to publish, etc. Keep this in mind if stuff doesn't work 100% as presented.
- All the info you're gonna find is already available online for free (and it's continually updated).
