Hey guys, I want to create a simple random name generator as .exe for windows. Just strings randomly connected and all you can click is 'generate' and it generates a new one.

what's the easiest way to do this?

Any oldfags nostalgic for the weird, boxy, beige designs of hardware in the 80s and 90s? I wish I could get a modern laptop or even ATX tower case that resembles these computers from my childhood. All of the "sleek" Mac-inspired designs of today are generic garbage.

yeah i miss the pizzabox case design putting a CRT on top of your computer just felt so comfy. the nostalgia goggles aren't completely deluding me because oh man i remember all the bad shit about computers. figuring out IRQs, sound card settings, video card settings, getting kicked off the internet when someone tried to call you multiple times, and windows 95 constantly fucking crashing. but i like remembering it, even with the bad stuff. it helps me remember being younger. all you young faggots who constantly berate us oldfags for the nostalgia.....it's going to happen to you too, trust me.

I have an Acer 5744 laptop with shit 15.6" 1366x768 LED LCD screen.
I've been looking to upgrade it, and found some generic 15.6 WUXGA 1920x1080 screens that appear to have the same connector in the same general location as the Acer.
See pic related. Left is my LCD screen, right is the closest one I could find. The connector is the same 40 pin, but its not in the exact same location. I dont know if it closer, or farther from the source. I might need a new ribbon cable, and I'm sure those are all proprietary.

I cant find any info if these models ever came with an upgraded display

I have not tested the VGA output resolution, but with an HDMI dongle I have no issues outputting 1080p to my TV.

Will that screen work on this laptop?
