Serious question: is there any reason to use anything but mpv for music if you already have your music collection well-organized?
Also daily "is mpv the /g/reatest?" thread I guess
>>59735691
Mpv doesn't have a scriptable interface afaik
I like mpv, but had to write this small wrapper.function play {
mpv --no-video --really-quiet "$1"
}
if you're going to use the terminal as a music player you might as well just use cmus or ncmpcpdmdndpdmcpdmc

I'd want to side with RYZEN, but...
>Early Access game
It's gonna run like shit.
>600% better
Intel bankrupt and finished
>>59735681
yeah, this. everything is under-utilized.
How do you fail so hard at building a website? 2*4chan hasn't even been able to post for the last week and now thousands of users are bitching at hotwheels, not even realized that he doesn't run it anymore.
wait the crippledwarf doesn't run the site anymore? Who does|
>>59735746
A guy called jim from 2channel and his son ron run it now. 8ch is dead, expect everyone to eventually move on to the next big imageboard.
>>59735809
you mean crawl back here
>implying they ever left
poorfag here, what is the best in-ear phones (IEM) under 30$ according to /g/ ?
>>59735560
>>>/g/csg
some earphones in there that are decent for the money
JVC Marshmallow
/hpg/ has no idea what they're talking about, ESPECIALLY if it's not on newegg. Don't overspend on IEMs, get decent cheap disposable ones
>>59735560
just go to your local electronics/big box store and buy the second-cheapest ones.
If you guys are so scared of botnet and being spied on... Why doesn't anyone use pgp this whole board should be pgp

But we do anon, just not for pointless shitposting on my favourite Chinese, basket weaving forum

What does /g/ think about AIO Cooling?
I've always used corsair but I recently bought a h110i and it cannot keep my 7700k @ stock speeds under 70 at load. So I need something better.
Anyone have any experience with switftech? They look badass but apparently there's some risk of the unit cracking and leaking.
The ekwb kits look cool but are also quite a bit more expensive and I can't find any documentation on how they stack up against closed loop systems.
Something ain't right
>>59735384
If you MUST go CLC, go for the EKWB. Why? because its all proper equipment which can be upgraded into an OLC once you realise how retarded a CLC is.
t. someone who had a NZXT Kraken X61 + Fury X and now has pic related
>>59735384
What cooler were you using before?
What loads/stress test are you putting it under?
70c is pretty normal for a 7700k desu famalam
> we see here that your daily traffic has been 80% 4chan.
What to do?
>>59735330
"I'm proud of it"
>>59735330
And yours is LinkedIn. What's your point?
I only visited blue boards, clearly labelled "safe for work".

So, why is the 1700X slower in Doom and RoTR than the 1600?
>>59735280
I'm guessing the 1600 might be able to squeek a few more mhz or it's misleading and is a 1600x and a 1700x at stock clocks
>>59735280
Because they're too lazy to go back and do their benchmarks for the 1700X again with the same platform improvements. I've seen a couple of R5 reviews now and they've just slapped R7 launch day benchmarks alongside the new ones.
>>59735350
They reached 3.9GHz on the 1600, the same as the 1700X. You shouldn't expect higher overclocks from the hex cores. They're still using the exact same design, just with one core disabled in each CCX, something which is not going to make much difference.
I've been silently shitposting in the background as of late.
Also old thread is almost dead.
>>59735211
I like your monitors.
Dunno I`f I want to buy things for muh gaming or just set up a home theater with a big ass tv
Well, macfags?

>Drumpf supporter makes another trans person hate thread
*yawn*
OS X is still using opengl 4.1
Apple are fucking retarded when it comes to this stuff
What
So what's the best price/performance CPU for the upcoming ryzen /g/?
the 1600x cost around 300 euro in EU, what a fucking scam.
imo either the 1400 or 1600 non x.
>>59735119
xfr is a meme
1600 and 1400 are the way to go once OC'd
>>59735597
xfr is for those that are too lazy to OC
or just want the speed right away.
>>59735625
If you're too lazy to one button OC then you should be getting a non k intel cpu.
will bodies frozen on death ever be able to be revived?
any hope of science being able to prolong lives in our lifetime?
>>59735010
There's no hope so far, even in a distant future.
>>59735010
They could clone you from your dna, but unless they find a way to prevent the water in your body from expanding and destroying your muscle tissue and skin you will turn to mush when they thaw you
>will bodies frozen on death ever be able to be revived?
No
>any hope of science being able to prolong lives in our lifetime?
We will for sure be able to do this within 50-100 years but only rich people will afford to go through the treatment
How true is pic related?
>>59734846
Since any moron can install it using the beginner's guide, it's untrue.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Beginners_Guide&oldid=79817
There are plenty of folks to impatient to read. So there's truth to it.
Not an Arch fan myself, but it's not bad. Just not my thing.
>>59735070
actually that's why it is true imo. People say it's unnecessarily complicated when it almost couldn't be easier considering it doesn't come with a graphical installer
apple is making a high end, upgradable Mac Pro. along with a pro display.
now you poorfags got NOTHING on apple. they already offered the best mobile hardware, now they are offering best PC hardware, with the option to upgrade it. god fucking bless America.

>>59734824
>Apple is currently hard at work on a “completely rethought” Mac Pro, with a modular design that can accommodate high-end CPUs and big honking hot-running GPUs, and which should make it easier for Apple to update with new components on a regular basis.
>should make it easier for Apple to update with new components on a regular basis.
>easier for Apple to update with new components
>FOR APPLE
