Why isn't this more popular?
>>59736796
Web programming has changed where single page apps are starting to dominate the landscape.
Because of this, the server side of things deals mainly with APIs.
If you are just making API's there are much, much better languages that can scale.
Also, NodeJS ate it's lunch (it's mainly this).
>>59736796
It's Japanese. Like Chainer. So only Japanese use it
I started a project on Ruby this year. There have been 2-3 minor updates completely breaking multiple of the most popular gems already. I would not use it for anything I need to maintain for years.

What would be the most useful keyboard shortcut to add on a standard keyboard aside from volume keys?
>>59736541
A button to instantly kill a crashed full screen application without having to open the task manager first.
Furiously types Alt+Tab while inputting the RMS copypasta while is pressed down.
>>59736541
shortcut keys aren't useful
including volume up/down
Seems like no one is fucking capable of writing bug-free software. Windows is a meme, Ubuntu not better, GNOME solved it by not having features and even Mate doesn't let me work without fixing things. I don't remember KDE being better.
Will that stop ? Will Xfce stay the only non-retarded DE forever ? Won't people realize that having software they can trust no to crash because someone looked at it is more important that fucking animations, transparency and "innovation" which makes things worse but is accepted because muh modern UI ?
>>59736509
As long as code base grows the amount of bugs will increase.
It's your choice to install a complicated feature rich DE with inevitably more bugs or, like you mentioned, a DE with less features.
This will -never- change so stop being annoyed or you'll live a miserable life.
>>59736509
devs think adding new features is fun and fixing fiddly bugs in old code is boring. UX people are even worse, because they only have anything to do at all if you're changing things.
It's difficult to tell people "Don't just do something, stand there!" and even harder to get them to listen to you.

Yep, more or less. Also it turns out that GN never bothered to test actual transfer speeds. Now that some real reviewers did that, it turns out that .m2 heat shields do in fact prevent throttling, as expected.

Is it worth upgrading to windows 10? Apparently vidya performance is better on 10.

Pretty much every benchmark proves that it isn't. Nothing uses DX12 and W10 in general is a piece of shit.
>>59736118
Unless you have an AMD GPU, DX12 a shit.
Use Manjaro if ur using csgo or something i get 300-700 fps on csgo with max settings
its not worth it u will just get a 0.1 fps increase

I haven't had the urge to get anything new for over a year now. Pretty content with my HE560 for home and some ANC Bose shit for commuting.
are headphones that have their own soundcards with '7.1 surround sound' a meme? waste of money?
also curious as to how long the lifespan of your headsets are? the last two I had shit the bed way earlier than I would have liked (and broke in the dumbest most frustrating ways).
Repost from the last thread:
An audiophool friend of mine was looking to get rid of some lower end stuff, so I was able to snag the SHP 9500's, DT770, and a Fulla 2 for $200.
Pretty new to all this, have I done well?
So far I like the DT770's more after eqing down the highs a bit.
What's the next logical upgrade I should look into?
Hi /g/ i have tech question that you might be able to help me with, i have computer store in Venezuela and recently started selling to different government agencies, one of these asked me for SSD's for a server they have, i have in stock Samsung EVO 850's they say they need it for a PowerEdge R710 and they need to use them in RAID 1 (Two Disks), is this possible to do with the EVOs reliably? or should i try to get them some enterprise ssd's?
Government, saying we need ssds, and not saying we want XYZ specific brand and size and model. Don't lie, this is for your own server.
>>59736285
>Venezuelan government
Might very well be legit
>>59736285
I would post the email but that would probably get me into trouble and its in spanish, secondly, it's basically impossible to get a server here without being a richfag. Also they don't say what they need because you can't get anything here just by pointing at it (they country is basically defaulting).
Don't you think if i wanted it for my own server i would just get consumer grade ssd's? i'm asking because i need help anon.
>>59736326
Yeah they are basically asking ''WHAT CAN YOU GET US?''
This is the power of a $200 OS.
There is literally nothing wrong with ads. If you don't have the self control to refrain from impulse buying whatever some ad is selling then you have no business being at a computer anyways, brainlet.

physical storage.
Computers that use custom EFI. They won't let you boot to another HDD/SSD or USB device. But they will let you boot from the dvd drive that came with the prebuilt.
Of course you are better off avoiding systems that use a custom EFI. But sometimes shit happens.
